"OutSystems: A Game-Changer for Swift, Scalable, and Personalized Development"
4/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

As a devoted OutSystems developer, I've found the platform to be a game-changer. Its low-code environment accelerates development, turning weeks into days. OutSystems effortlessly scales from small projects to enterprise solutions without sacrificing simplicity. Collaboration is seamless, promoting teamwork and faster decision-making. In essence, OutSystems isn't just a development platform; it's the epitome of quick, scalable, and personalized software development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

The platform's licensing costs could be perceived as relatively high for smaller projects or individual developers. Lastly, the dependency on the platform for hosting might be a drawback for those who prefer more control over their infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing platform heading in the wrong direction"
3.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

What I like the most is the easy of develpment, versioning and lifecycle.

A platform that is easy to bring new developers and expand the community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

I dislike a lot the direction OutSystems Platform is going where more and more the platform is closing down.

For me this is a very concerning thing since to fully support live critical applications, we need to be fully in control and be able to do proper throubleshooting. The lack of access to the environment, database and hotfix procedure can make a small issue currently blocking the business a very time consuming task.

One thing that I also dislike is the way developers create unit tests, this should be something integrated in the platform.

Making this part of the platform it could easily integrate deployment cycles since this is a critical part for a proper CICD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"OutSystems Speeds Delivery with a Powerful Visual Low-Code Platform"
4/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

What I like about OutSystems is the visual interface. I don’t have to dig through hundreds of lines of code just to track down a single bug, and I don’t need to write thousands of lines to put together simple logic or even a basic component. Depending on what I’m trying to build, I can drag and drop UI components for speed, or customize them with custom code when I need more control. Also the platform simplifies integrating with external systems whether an application needs to consume a modern REST API or SOAP or other major enterprise systems. Unlike basic low-code form builders, Outsystems compiles visual maps down into optimized standard .NET/C# code which provides tremendous performance. The financial return on investment is immediate regarding time-to-market. Projects that take months in standard code are delivered in weeks. It cuts down technical debt and significantly reduces long term maintenance cost. Outsystems is at forefront of the shift towards agentic AI. With Outsystems Mentor, developers can generate functional UI, logic and schemas using natural language prompts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

Outsystems is an enterprise-tier tool with a premium price tag. Even the entry-level pricing is steep, which makes it largely inaccessible for small startups, independent developers, and small businesses. Licensing costs scale based on the number of end users or the complexity of the application objects, where screens, entities, and REST API methods are each counted as an AO. Because pricing is tied to users, applications with millions of anonymous users or low-revenue users should not consider Outsystems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Tool for Building Applications Quickly and Efficiently"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

One of the most noticeable improvements recently is the stronger focus on AI-powered development. Features that support automation and intelligent workflows make it easier to build smarter applications with less effort. Along with this, the mobile development experience has improved with a more modern runtime and better-performing UI components, making apps feel smoother and more native.

Another thing I like is the increased flexibility in workflows and UI customization. The platform now feels more mature with better support for reusable logic, improved integrations, and stronger governance and security features. Overall, these updates help speed up development while still giving enough control to handle more complex enterprise use cases Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

There are still a few areas where OutSystems can improve. The biggest one is pricing and licensing transparency—costs can be quite high and sometimes confusing, especially as applications scale or for smaller teams. Many users also feel that while the platform is powerful, it can become complex to manage for larger or more customized applications.

Another area for improvement is flexibility and customization. Since it’s a proprietary platform, there can be limitations when building highly specific or niche solutions, and some integrations with external or specialized tools can be challenging. Improving debugging, source control capabilities, and overall developer experience for advanced use cases would make the platform even stronger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outsystems: The core shell for AI progress"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

The AI features they have been introducing these last months have given a complete revamp to the image the platform has. They introduce a new world of posibilities and change the paradigm: Outsystems is not an AI competitor, but an AI companion and accelerator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

For sure they can improve their training paths (the technology would greatly benefit from having more experts on it) and their overall communication about upcoming features, specially in such an uncertainous season we are living in Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enterprise Apps Without Code—Plus the Flexibility of .NET Extensions"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

The best thing about Outsystems is its ability to create enterprise-level applications without writing any code. We’ve built applications—even complex ones—without writing a single line of code. And if something seems impossible to achieve without code, it still gives us the option to create an extension using .NET. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

There is no such thing to dislike about outsystems as it simplifies things to the extent where you can ignore any drawbacks, if any Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outsystems - A Leading Low Code Application"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

OutSystems has introduced Agentic AI (Agents) with ODC. This is a new feature that gives power to developers to create AI agents for their clients to give real-time response and feedback with any service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

The licensing cost is still high as small businesses can't afford to build their system using OutSystems. They should reduce the cost of licensing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Low Code Adventure"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

What I like most about OutSystems is how it accelerates application development while still allowing the flexibility needed for complex enterprise solutions. The visual development environment significantly reduces development time, making it easier to deliver features quickly without sacrificing quality. I never imagined myself working on IT until I came a cross outsystems, because it allows you too focus on pure business Logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

One area for improvement is the merge process, which can become complex when multiple developers work on the same components, making conflict resolution more difficult than in traditional development environments, branching would be good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Development Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

Transforming our internal LOB applications to OutSystems has, so far, been a great move. The ability to design, build, and deploy solutions for the business with strong CX and UI is invaluable. Re-platforming many of our LOB apps into OutSystems means we can now give our employees the functionality and security they’ve always wanted, which we weren’t able to deliver with our incumbent systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

The only downside experienced so far is that the capabilities of OS are so far reaching that some simple solutions can seem like they require more lengthy dev time. This is far outweighted however by the ability to provide more functionality than ever before to our users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Secure App Development with Easy CI/CD and REST Integrations"
3.5/5
What do you like best about OutSystems?

OutSystems enables quick application development and comes as an all-in-one bundle for deployment, with CI/CD and internal security built in. It’s easy to use and easy to get used to. I have 4 years of professional experience with it, and it’s something I naturally think about when I’m coding. Implementing logic feels straightforward, and REST integrations are simple to set up and pick up. I’ve also had quick replies from OutSystems itself when I needed support. I use OutSystems daily in my life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OutSystems?

Sometimes an infinite loop can slip by unnoticed, and it can take a while to track down and fix. Also, the market itself is still fairly niche and not very widespread (yet), which can be a concern in this day of AI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
