OuterSignal is a customer intelligence and enrichment platform for Shopify and direct-to-consumer brands. It takes the customer data a brand already collects through orders and adds context to it -- who the customer is, what they likely care about, and whether they&#39;re worth special attention -- so marketing, retention, and CX teams can act on a fuller picture of each shopper. The platform connects to a Shopify store in one click and begins enriching every customer profile, not just suspected high-value ones. For each customer, OuterSignal adds more than 100 attributes drawn from publicly available information, including occupation and seniority, demographic indicators, social presence, interests, and signals related to spending capacity. The result is a customer database that goes beyond email address and order history to describe the actual person behind each purchase. Brands use OuterSignal in four main ways: - Signal Feed. A live view of recent customer activity, filterable by segment, attribute, or recency. Teams use it to monitor incoming orders, surface notable customers, and spot patterns as they happen. - VIP Detection. Automatic flagging of high-value customers: executives, founders, celebrities, influencers, and other recognizable buyers. Influencer, CX, and retention teams can prioritize outreach instead of treating every order the same. - Segments and Personas. Audience definition using any combination of enriched attributes, plus AI-generated personas that group customers into recognizable buyer types. Segments stay updated as new orders come in. - Outbound Sync. Enriched customer data is sent to the tools brands already use, including Klaviyo, HubSpot, Postmark, and Slack, so the same enrichment powers email flows, CRM records, and team alerts. OuterSignal is built specifically for Shopify and Shopify Plus stores. Installation is one click, billing runs through the Shopify Billing API, orders and products sync automatically through native webhooks, and historical orders can be backfilled at install. Brands not on Shopify can connect through CSV import and direct subscription. Typical use cases include identifying VIPs the moment they place an order, building segments based on attributes that aren&#39;t visible in Shopify alone (such as professional context or interest categories), personalizing email and SMS flows with richer audience definitions, and giving CX teams more context on who they&#39;re talking to.
