## About ORION Security
ORION Security is a cybersecurity company that offers a new model for data loss prevention (DLP). Using proprietary AI agents that analyze data in motion and detect indicators of data loss, ORION delivers context-aware verdicts across every channel, including endpoints, browser, SaaS, email, and agentic AI workflows, without rules, policies, or manual tuning. The result is dramatically reduced overhead and false positives, and real incidents stopped before they become breaches. Security teams get total visibility, answers instead of alerts, and protection that continuously learns and evolves with their business. ORION's agentic DLP was built for how work happens now in the AI era. Data used to move through files and known endpoints; now it moves through prompts, chat interfaces, AI-generated outputs, and agent-to-agent actions, which are all surfaces legacy DLP was never built to watch. ORION serves B2B customers, primarily security teams and CISOs at enterprise companies in highly regulated industries such as healthcare and finance. Its customers include Alera Group, American Express Global Travel, and LinkedIn. The company's alliance and integration partners in the cybersecurity space include Grip, Microsoft Purview, Sentra, Torq, and Wiz. Based in New York City, with offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, ORION Security was founded in 2024 by CEO Nitay Milner, a former product leader at Cisco-acquired Epsagon, and CTO Jonathan Kreiner, a former application security leader at WalkMe. The company is backed by Norwest, PICO Venture Partners, Lama Partners, IBM, and others. In November 2025, ORION closed $32 million in funding, bringing total capital raised to $38 million.

**What do you like best about ORION Security?**

Orion Security’s DLP has completely transformed how we manage sensitive data. What I like best is the seamless balance between state of the art protection and a user-friendly interface. It provides deep visibility into data movement across our entire network without slowing down our team’s productivity. The automated discovery, detections and classification features are top-tier, giving us a peace of mind that our intellectual property is secure at all times. It has also over time greatly reduced the number of false-positives and the amount our team spends on investigation and remediation. The product boast a rich integrations portfolio that the Orion team is constantly building upon allowing us to track all possible data movement.
The initial onboarding and ongoing support was on another level. I am extremely satisfied working with the amazing Orion team!

**What do you dislike about ORION Security?**

N/A. Any feedback or feature requests we’ve shared have been addressed in a timely manner.

**What problems is ORION Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Full visibility on all data movement within our environment.
* Solves compliance burden by automatically blocking transfers of sensitive data.
* Reduction in false positives and my team alert fatigue.
* Automated detections out of the box, without having to spend hundreds of hours to fine-tune policies.
* Seamless integrations with out tech stack.

 ### 2. Investigation-First Visibility with AI-Powered Policies and Streamlined Triage

**What do you like best about ORION Security?**

The biggest structural difference I've found is that Orion is built around investigation and visibility first, where DG is built around rules and endpoint enforcement first. Discovery gives me a graph of where our data actually flows — sources on the left, destinations on the right, thickness = volume — so I can literally see "AI tools and personal email are eating our data" at a glance before I write a single policy. DG never gave me that macro picture; I found out what was happening by reading alerts one at a time.
The AI layer is the second real win for me, and it's threaded through everything rather than bolted on. I can build a policy by typing "block PII uploads to Dropbox" and it fills the whole wizard. I can query Discovery in plain English. Detections come with an AI Risk Score (0–10) broken into Context / Content / Entities / Anomaly, plus an AI Insights narrative explaining why it fired — and I can ask it follow-up questions. For my team's day-to-day triage burden coming off DG, that's the difference between reading raw event logs and getting a pre-written incident summary.
Third: Simulate before enabling. I can point a draft policy at historical data and see the blast radius before I turn it on. That alone has de-risked a lot of our Fortra-to-Orion cutover, because I can validate that a migrated rule matches the same traffic before it starts blocking people.
Fourth, noise control is a first-class feature here, not an afterthought — detections cluster related traces into one incident, there's a single sensitivity slider (Balanced by default), and Accept Risk lets me create time-boxed exceptions instead of permanently poking holes. Coming from a system I found too cumbersome, this is exactly the streamlining I was after.
And fifth, mitigation lives in the console: I can Notify the manager/actor, Revoke Access on external shares, and Delete File through CrowdStrike, all without leaving the detection. DG typically punted me to other tools for response.

**What do you dislike about ORION Security?**

I wouldn't say anything is least helpful. I would say that Orion is still in it's infancy and has a lot more potential than what's available now.

**What problems is ORION Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greater detail into DLP without the Endpoint Processing/Memory overhead we currently have with FORTRA

 ### 3. ORION Security: DLP beyond expectations.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ORION Security?**

ORION Security is the best-performing, best value, and most comprehensive DLP solution I have encountered in my career. The UX is simple and uncluttered while still providing the depth of information necessary for thorough analysis, and support is extremely responsive. When integrations do not exist the turnaround time to create them has been measurable in hours, not days. The AI delivers better insights and analysis than the dedicated MSP we had monitoring DLP previously.

**What do you dislike about ORION Security?**

I haven't found anything to dislike yet.

**What problems is ORION Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Controlling the flow of our sensitive and controlled data to keep us secure and compliant. There are so few modern solutions that are both powerful and give us a pathway to meeting our export-control compliance requirements..

**What do you like best about ORION Security?**

Excellence contextualization of findings with natural language and team orientation

**What do you dislike about ORION Security?**

False positives are still present, mostly due to bugs. The experience around risky but mostly appropriate business data flows still isnt solved.

**What problems is ORION Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

workforce data security linage and leak risks
