**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ritesh G. | Cloud Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

As a student, I initially struggle with building database driven applications and connecting the frontend and backend, managing database connections, writing queries, and integrating everything manually was time consuming and confusing. After using Oracle JDeveloper this improved a lot. It provides build in tools for database integration and development using Oracle ADF, which made it easier for me to create full-stack applications in one place. the UI and user experience feels outdated and slightly complex at first. However, performance is heavy! it requires a good system and can lag during large project. In terms of pricing and ROI, it's valuable in academic use since it exposes real world tools, though its relevance is mostly within the Oracle ecosystem. Talking about the support and onboarding were a bit challenging initially due to a steep learning curve, but you will get to it. AI/Intelligence features are limited compared to modern IDEs. Overall, it's a powerful for enterprise and people wants to work with a Oracle ecosystem

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

As a student, i found Jdeveloper quit heavy and slow, especially on a normal laptop. The UI feels outdated and confusing at first, which made onboarding difficult. It also has a steep learning cure, particularly when working with ADF. For small projects, it feels like overkill, and limited AI features

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I struggle building database-driven applications and managing backend-frontend integration. JDeveloper solved this by providing build-in database tools and ADF, which made development faster and more structured. That reduced my manual coding effort and helped me understanding enterprise application design.

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

If you are working on Java development with heavy database features, I would recommend this 200%, It is the best in this domain, Yes there are other similar tools but this for me was very helpful, especially on the deployment part i could easily reduce a lot steps that i would have genrally had to do with Oracle JDev, And other things I like are the tools for debugging they are matching the standard requirements and also Oracle JDev is best if you are on Oracle Ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

Now, although I love a lot of things about Oracle JDev, there are a few things which really should be improved first is when I started using I didn't feel it was beginner friendly I really found it complex on all the usage of the tools, but with time things were good. Also it is extremely heavy on the processor, if you computer doesn't have top notch specifications, you will definitely feel it is slow while using.

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As said earlier, it is the best if you are using it for Java projects which have heavy database features, personally used it for that and it was extremely good, the tools and debugging available are top notch. And deployment will be very smooth.

Oracle JDeveloper also integrates with other Oracle products, such as Oracle Database and Oracle Business Intelligence, which allows us to build applications that leverage these technologies and help improve our applications' functionality and performance, enabling us to deliver more value to our clients.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

It's a fully effective IDE for enhancing Java and industrial programs, including BPM and SOA. At the ADF level, it's a complicated but very intuitive framework as it manages the layout through layout and draggable components. As far as SOA offers within the new edition of 12-C, there is no need to implement an IDE like Eclipse, since the connections created there can now be made within JDeveloper without any delay. The database adapter is very useful and easy to use. Suitable for most J2EE initiatives and especially Oracle-related products like ADF, WCP and JSF Framework, etc. We can also develop/install SOA initiatives and the state-of-the-art model helps improve OSB. The good thing is that we can connect to the target servers and install them without any delay from within JDeveloper, which is very beneficial for the developers.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

quite heavy that slows execution in sturdy programs. Requires a pc with appropriate resources. It`s pretty hard to combine with third-party services. Too many capabilities confuse the person to select the most suitable improvement path. the high learning curve to use its features.

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to develop fast-paced and focusing on problem-solving instead of tools needed for it.

  ### 41. ORACLE SQL AND WHOLE WHOLE ONLINE EXPERIENCE OF JAVA,HTML ,XML

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

The thing which i liked the most is its availability, that it is free to use and surf. There are a lot of platforms that require a subscription, but it is free; hence there are more number of users on this platform.
It has a vivid presentation style and a good interface for users.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

It isn't easy to make an application on this platform as, in my opinion, it requires a lot of guidance and instructions, which make it challenging for beginners.
Sometimes it may freeze while using WYSIWYG editor.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle JDeveloper:**

my advice is to use this software despite costly software available on internet so must use this software to make applications

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me in making a perfect application as my team has been using this software for more than a year, and they didn't fail in their task of finding bugs and never stop in doing a perfect project.

  ### 42. Oracle JDeveloper Reviews

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ameya D. | Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

The best thing about JDeveloper is it is a free tool and we are using it for developing java, oracle applications, and packages. It is easily get integrated with oracle middleware and provides a nice GUI for text. its other best wizards are the generation of repetitive code which helps our team members to write once and use it many times advantage. JDeveloper’s web application development environment includes a drag-and-drop function that allows users to bring one element of the design from one place to another simply by clicking on them and drawing the cursor to the destination.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

The major issue about JDeveloper is that it is taking longer loading time as well as tool is consuming higher memory of your computer. Another thing is JDeveloper configuration is not an easy task, it is problematic work. no Autosave option is available which causes the loss of code.

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are mainly using Jdeveloper for doing a lot of oracle stuff like the writing of SQL queries to solve ad hoc requirements of business users. Create daily, monthly reports with the help of the oracle database. We largely use drag and drop functionality which makes our development work faster.

**Reviewed by:** Adnan A. | Security Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

I am working on Oracle for 2 years now - it's the most advance and secure software - you can create your own software, it has many tools where you can create a advance database for your company.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

the language we use in oracle is now it's bit old and the application needs more easily - and more user convenient - it should be in one software with all the tools like reporting - database and SQL

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle JDeveloper:**

yes i will

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

solving a lot of SQL queries and designing projects on it - which helps me to grow in the oracle market - it's crashing many times and hang which is the downfall of oracle apart from that it's the best software for database I interact with.

  ### 45. Jdeveloper Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime M. | Senior backend software, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Oracle JDeveloper?**

It allows me to visualize the tables, functions, and procedures in a short period of time (unlike other programs), and it also has a very simple style of organizing objects.

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

I think the highest possible is the initial load time. I don't know if it's because it's an old version or depending on the databases loaded, but it always takes a long time at the beginning.

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle JDeveloper:**

N/A

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My greatest benefits have been the quick and efficient data querying of both PL/SQL and SQL through a plugin, the graphical modification of tables, procedures, and insertions, and the program providing me with clean code.

A significant advantage of Oracle Jdeveloper with other IDEs is that it natively handles connections with Oracle DBs and allows through plugins to work with code from the Oracle Services Bus

**What do you dislike about Oracle JDeveloper?**

I do not like that the application is somewhat heavy, so it requires some disk space and RAM to run the IDE satisfactorily

**Recommendations to others considering Oracle JDeveloper:**

I recommend using Jdeveloper for projects that require interaction with other tools or platforms, this IDE provides a series of plugins that improve the user experience and save time and money

**What problems is Oracle JDeveloper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Oracle Jdeveloper I have managed to develop using native tools to consult the Oracle DB and also validate xml code to develop in the Oracle Services Bus (OSB) without the need to use other applications, particularly in Banking projects. On the other hand, I have received benefits when using the IDE, ranging from savings in development time to savings in licensing using the plugins that the IDE offers.
