I've deployed this product to many small firms who are not looking into more hardware investment but have their concerns about file and storage sharing. This OpenFiler box can be the all-in-one solution for them. **What do you dislike about Openfiler?** Well, all open-source products have their ups and downs, but the thing I didn't agree with using it for a mid-size company is the way its shared storage works. Software SAN works and attaches very easily, but for some reason, when the source goes down or reboots, the target storage does not connect automatically sometimes. Also, I've faced the problem of increasing storage when the size of a LUN increases more than 1 TB consumption; it started to show IOPS errors and destroyed all the data. **Recommendations to others considering Openfiler:** If you are looking to deploy a small-size solution for a company that is looking for file sharing, shared storage, or network backups to be on other devices, OpenFiler could be the one-box solution for them. **What problems is Openfiler solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sometimes customers ask for a solution, but they don't want to bear the cost of a resource to manage it, like a Microsoft Administrator or Linux Administrator, to manage their services all the time because no one is more familiar with the security tools or Linux shell. So, I see OpenFiler as a solution for customers who can manage it over the web in a few clicks and run their environment easily without acquiring any resource to manage it. Since I've deployed this to customers, I'm receiving far fewer support tickets regarding file sharing server requests. ### 2. We were looking for software NAS and then we came to know about Openfiler. It worked, and we were able to create the test cluster on one SERVER.
