The SIS pulls all of the student information together so we can see a birds eye view of every component of student needs and resources. **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** absolutely nothing.. because they are receptive to any concerns. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are constantly evolving it to be responsive to school needs ### 2. My previous district did not use the OnCourse SIS system and it was very frustrating. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not aware of any problems. Any concerns are easily and quickly addressed. One issue I need to bring to somebody's attention is the calculation of the self assessment in the overall score. I need to figure out how to only include administration evaluations in calculating the scores. ### 3. The development team is also always looking for ways to increase the product's usefulness to the user. Their help desk is STELLAR!! When I was a new user, I also found it fairly intuitive to learn. I use it every day, multiple times a day. **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** Parents don't have a clear line of communication with OnCourse about their technical issues. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** OnCourse keeps track of pretty much everything we need regarding students and guardians. It helps keep track of staff information, too, which is helpful for SMID Management. ### 4. The element of personalized assistance with an amazing team of people has really set our transition apart. Even though we are midway through our conversion, we can already see the benefits of having everything easily accessible plus the added bonus of having an excellent team. **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** As of right now the biggest obstacle (and not really a dislike) is the "we've always done it this way" mindset; however, I'm optimistic that once our people settle, they will be pleased. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I really see our people making use of the data tools and Student Story. It's streamlined in that I can review my pre-observation questions, submit responses and view feedback all in one platform while also viewing and editing my plans. When it comes to lesson planning, I use the "unit plan" feature quite often where I can tag lessons multiple times and refer to previous plans. I share my plans via "Sharing" often and it's helpful. I don't find myself using the "bump plans" feature all that often, but I like knowing I could if I had to. **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** I don't love that you cannot access your pre- observation or post-observations questions after they're submitted. There should be a feature in which people can do a joined editing process (sort of like a Google Doc feature). **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** My colleagues and I are solving the problem of co-planning because we can collaborate on lesson plans without using our prep time to do so. ### 13. Scheduled appointments show up on the calendar very neatly and the uniformity makes it easy to read over them quickly. **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** Learning OnCourse has been very difficult and frustrating. It feels like they have not worked many of the kinks out of their software and there are many much more efficient ways to do many of the services offered by their system. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** My business is using OnCourse as a means to schedule appointments and organize schedules. After you begin to learn the system, OnCourse is an efficient and well-organized way to manage educational information. ### 14. It takes some learning in the beginning, but once the software becomes familiar - it is very easy and convenient to use! **What do you dislike about OnCourse SIS?** As mentioned above, the software takes a few weeks/months to get used to using. There is not a help system or wizard, therefore, you must self teach and explore the software to become comfortable with using. **What problems is OnCourse SIS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am lesson planning on a weekly basis, with easy access by administration to approve and make comments in weekly plans. Again, a HUGE benefit is the ability to create templates that allow one to just “fill in the blanks” on a weekly basis to make planning very easy! ### 15.
