I like that Octave Imagine (ERDAS IMAGINE) can handle different tasks like remote sensing, photogrammetry, and lidar analysis all on one platform. It lets me build visual, graphical workflows for complex tasks like image classification and orthorectification without needing heavy coding. As a geologist, I use it to process multispectral data to map hydrothermal alteration zones, identify minerals through spectral signatures, and perform target detection using sub-pixel classification. It also helps in detecting anomaly zones and lithological mapping. Additionally, I can quickly create mineral composite and alteration maps using band math multispectral data.
