"Everything you could want, without the cost."
5/5
What do you like best about OBS Studio?

I've been using OBS for years for everything from small, personal projects to powering global webcasts. It really is great, and super well supported by an active user community. When I can't afford to use Vmix, OBS does the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

It does seem to want to do a software update constantly, and you really benefit from a dedicated machine to run it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free Software for Live Streaming"
3.5/5
What do you like best about OBS Studio?

OBS is free, and all other software programs I found weren't. It works on mac and windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

The setup and interface were confusing for me. I know a lot of people will like having a ton of options but it made it hard for me to get started. I'm sure I could have figured it out if I did some research, but I found Ecamm Live easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The only easy-to-use, one stop broadcasting software that you will ever need!"
5/5
What do you like best about OBS Studio?

When I first started using OBS, I did not have great expectations from it because it was a free to use software that promised so much. After having streamed over 500+ hours of content, I can clearly say, it truly is one of a kind, feature-packed broadcasting software. From adding different layers to transitions to having more than one video source (I've used up to 8 sources with no problem), overlays and access to advanced widgets, you wouldn't believe that the software is actually free. What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

Some features are hidden under long menus. If you were to start using the software without a manual, it does take a bit of time to learn your way around it. Also, the fact that it retains the settings while you don't have to save anything, is both relieving and scary at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OBS Studio?

That it is an open source software, that it is free, that everyone can participate in its development and create plugins to be able to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

It lacks some features that are increasingly needed, such as adding video calls with other people without having to capture the screen of other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"OBS A Powerful and Easy to use tool that raises your webconferencing game."
4.5/5
What do you like best about OBS Studio?

OBS Brings Studio level control to your webpresence and webcast. In the competitive online presence you can control the narrative with engaging video. I have kept OBS through the several streaming platforms used over the years and it has performed flawlessly on all of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

Some remote high end features would be nice, so I can delegate some of the streaming control to a "producer". That producer may also be a set of predefined, scripted video source and transition events that may be controlled by a timing script, next or the next one in the sequence or by a person as producer. Much the same way as PowerPoint allows events to porgress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple tool that allows you to do great things"
4.5/5
What do you like best about OBS Studio?

The interface for OBS is so simple yet powerful at the same time which allows you to be creative with your broadcasts. With a wide range of plugins for popular broadcasting software too, it is a one stop shop to broadcast and screen record. Being a free tool as well has massive advantages as you feel like putting more time into the setup to get the most out of it.

The fact it works with tools such as Elgato Stream Deck make a big difference too as it facilitates every need you could have in terms of the streaming side of the things.

In regards to screen recording it captures good picture and audio to ensure the recording is to the required standard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OBS Studio?

Being open source it doesn't have a dedicated customer services team so instead you need to rely on the wider community and GitHub for updates and how to resolve technical queries. There are regular updates that can knock certain settings out which can lead to frustration but as long as you are aware you need to check certain settings after an update has taken place this can be managed well.
