Notifuse Reviews & Product Details

Notifuse is an open-source email marketing and automation platform for teams that want to own both their contact data and their sending costs. It covers the whole lifecycle in one application: a drag-and-drop email builder, list and segment management, broadcast campaigns with A/B testing, multi-step automation journeys, a transactional API, and cookieless web analytics. Two things make it different from the hosted incumbents. First, bring-your-own-provider sending. You connect your own Amazon SES, Postmark, SendGrid, Mailgun, Mailjet, SparkPost or SMTP account. Notifuse never charges per email, and every plan includes unlimited sends — you pay your provider's raw rate, which with Amazon SES is roughly $0.10 per 1,000 emails. Second, active-contact billing. Only contacts with activity in the trailing 30 days count toward your plan. Dormant contacts sit in your database for free instead of inflating your invoice the way they do on platforms that bill on total list size. WHO IT IS FOR - Marketing and growth teams who want Mailchimp- or Klaviyo-class capability without per-contact and per-email pricing. - SaaS and product teams who need transactional email, lifecycle automations and a REST API in the same tool as their newsletter. - Agencies and consultancies running several clients from isolated workspaces. - Organisations with data-residency, GDPR or procurement requirements that need email marketing running inside their own infrastructure. EMAIL CREATION - Visual drag-and-drop builder that outputs responsive MJML, plus a code editor when you need full control. - Liquid templating for personalisation, custom contact fields and dynamic content. - Live preview, test sends, and AI assistance for drafting and editing templates. CAMPAIGNS AND AUTOMATION - Broadcast campaigns with scheduling, send-rate control and A/B testing on subject line, content and send time. - Visual automation builder: multi-step journeys assembled from delays, branches, condition filters, list add and remove actions, in-flow A/B tests and webhook calls. - Draft, live and paused states so you can edit a running journey safely, with per-contact enrollment status and a full per-step history. - Advanced segmentation: behavioural conditions, RFM, nested logic, list status, link clicks and custom events. CONTACTS AND DATA - Contact profiles with a unified timeline — sends, opens, clicks, list changes, automation runs, custom events and website sessions on one thread. - Custom event ingestion, external data feeds, and outgoing webhook subscriptions for your own systems. - Contact import, custom fields, and multi-tenant workspaces with roles and permissions. DELIVERABILITY AND SENDING - Six email provider integrations plus generic SMTP, configured per workspace. - Bounce, complaint and delivery event processing from every supported provider. - Open tracking, click tracking and per-link click analytics. ANALYTICS - Campaign reporting on delivery, opens, clicks, conversions and revenue goals. - Built-in cookieless, GDPR-friendly web analytics: sessions measured by real engaged time rather than wall-clock, channel attribution with editable rules, conversion goals and custom dimensions. No cookie banner, so you measure all of your traffic rather than the share that accepts consent. DEVELOPER SURFACE - Full REST API with a published OpenAPI specification, including a transactional send endpoint. - Embeddable Notification Center widget for in-app notifications and subscription preferences. - S3-compatible file manager, Supabase integration, and OIDC single sign-on. - Go backend, React console, PostgreSQL. One application and one database — no message broker, no separate analytics warehouse to operate. DEPLOYMENT Self-host Notifuse with Docker Compose on any VPS: the source is AGPL-3.0 on GitHub and an interactive wizard handles first-run configuration. Or use Notifuse Cloud, fully managed from $16/month, with daily backups, point-in-time recovery, zero-downtime updates and on-demand full database exports. Feature parity is complete between the two, and every Cloud plan includes every feature — plans differ only by scale limits. 14-day free trial on any plan.
