**What do you like best about Nimble?**

The technology is clearly solid, and the documentation is decent for covering the basics. The free trial was also easy to get started with. The Search API is the part I’d keep even at our scale, since the relevance on a per-query basis is strong.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Everything about this product seems built for teams with dedicated data staff and a real budget. The pricing ramps up fast beyond what an internal-tools side project can reasonably justify, and a lot of the more interesting features are gated behind sales conversations. I also burned through the free pages in a single weekend of testing.

In practice, we use it for our production feed, where reliability really matters, and we rely on open source tools for more exploratory work. That split works well for us, but the marketing doesn’t make the enterprise focus clear upfront.

We needed a single production feed that never breaks, and so far it hasn’t. For the more exploratory side of our work, we stick with open source, which aligns with our budget reality.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

We’re in financial services, so everything turns into a security review. Nimble got through ours faster than any data vendor we’ve evaluated. Their approach checked the boxes we care about: zero retention, PII masking, audit logs, and no training on our data. Their trust center also covered about 90% of our questionnaire before we even had to ask. What really made the security review manageable, though, was the search agents’ citations and the audit trail.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

The region-specific data residency options feel limited compared to some competitors. It worked for our use case, but if you have strict residency requirements, it’s worth double-checking whether the available regions meet your needs.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

I ran a build-vs.-buy analysis three separate times, trying to justify building an internal platform. Each time, Nimble came out ahead once I priced things honestly proxy costs, ongoing maintenance, and the constant anti-bot whack-a-mole. Their data quality also beat what we were getting from our internal scrapers. And our internal build never really solved discovery; their search agents consistently find sources we never would have thought to list.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

You’re trading some control for convenience. In certain edge cases with custom extraction, I’ve found you sometimes need help from their team instead of being able to resolve it with a configuration change on your side.

**What problems is Nimble solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The build-vs-buy question kept coming up for us. Nimble’s data quality outperformed our internal scrapers, and it costs less than the ongoing maintenance, so that debate is settled. Now my team can focus on product work instead.

The company research agent is better than I expected. I gave it a list of 50 target accounts and got back profiles that would have taken an intern weeks to put together. It cited sources for everything, which made verification quick and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

5,000 trial pages sounds like a lot—until you point an agent at a real research task. We burned through the allowance in two days of evaluation and then had to ask for an extension. They did grant it, but I’d rather they start people off with more from the beginning.

Feed it a company list and you get back enriched profiles pulled from live web data tech stack signals, hiring activity, news, and reviews. Our SDR team’s connect rate went up because the personalization is based on things that happened this week, not a stale database. What I like is that enrichment starts with a live web search on each account, rather than relying on a stale index.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Matching companies to domains still requires a cleanup step on our side when names are ambiguous. If the API offered some fuzzy-matching support, it would save us from having to run a separate preprocessing job.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

Everyone talks about the agents, but the plain search endpoint is excellent. You get rich content in a single call, focus modes that actually matter, and pricing that feels sane. We’re using it as the retrieval layer for three internal tools now, and it’s been a solid fit for that role.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

My one real gripe is that Fast Mode is enterprise-only. We tried it during a sales evaluation and it was noticeably better for latency-sensitive work, but we can’t justify moving up to the enterprise tier just to get that one feature.

Three of our internal tools needed a retrieval layer, and I didn’t want to build one from scratch. This search API handles it for us, and the results are content-rich enough that we rarely need to do follow-up fetches.

The core extraction quality is high, and the Snowflake integration is well executed. When the managed feeds run, they run smoothly and deliver consistent results. Since the feeds are built on their search and retrieval capabilities under the hood, that relevance comes through clearly in the overall output quality.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

I had a rough billing experience early on. I was moved to a higher tier without clear notice, and there wasn’t a self-serve cancellation option, so I had to email and wait for a response. To their credit, they fixed it and credited the difference, and it hasn’t happened again. Still, the billing side of the product feels noticeably less polished than the data side. Also, there’s no support chat—it’s email only.

We needed marketplace data in Snowflake without having to build all the plumbing ourselves. The feeds arrive on schedule, and the early billing mess was handled and fixed properly, so it’s been pretty boring ever since. And honestly, boring is good.

Governance. Validation, schemas, audit logs, delivery SLAs, no training on our data. Every other vendor we evaluated felt like a tool you rent. Nimble feels closer to infrastructure, and our procurement and security teams picked up on that difference too. For ad hoc discovery the search agents give our teams relevant, cited sources.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Honestly, there’s nothing major to complain about. If I had to pick something, I’d say the cookbook library could be larger, and the community around the product is still fairly small, so you can’t rely on Stack Overflow answers the way you can with Scrapy-based stacks.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

We benchmarked Nimble against Bright Data and Oxylabs across 50 protected retail targets. In our tests, Nimble delivered the highest first-attempt success rate and the lowest median latency, especially on JS-heavy pages. The VX8 render driver handled the anti-bot measures that stopped the others. Their live search using real browsers is also a major reason discovery on protected targets works at all.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

VX8 pricing is custom, and we had to get on a sales call just to receive a quote, which slowed down our evaluation. Their proxy pool also seems smaller than the big two, so when we needed very long-tail geos—specifically coverage in a few smaller LATAM countries—the available options were limited.

We didn’t have an objective way to compare web data vendors. By running the same 50 protected targets through each one, we got a clear, defensible answer. Nimble’s first-attempt success rate is the main reason our pipeline is stable now.

When it works, the data is clean, and the success rates on hard targets are better than what we got with Decodo. The Generate Agent feature—where you describe what you want in plain English—is genuinely cool. What really helps is the search layer underneath, which is what makes the generated agents feel relevant rather than generic.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

It’s clearly built with larger deployments in mind. The $2500/month managed tier is more than we need, and the self-serve API takes a bit more engineering effort than the marketing suggests. The documentation also assumes you already know their vocabulary, which makes the learning curve steeper than it needs to be. We did look at cheaper options, but the data quality for our targets is what ultimately kept us here.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

We run around 2M page fetches a month across retail sites, and the success rate has stayed consistently above 98%. What really sold me was no longer having to babysit proxy rotation—the Extract endpoint just takes care of it. Support responds the same day, usually within a couple of hours. And when we need to find new sources instead of only fetching the ones we already know, the search side of the platform helps us discover them.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

The dashboard could be organized more intuitively. Finding historical job runs takes more clicks than it should, and it isn’t as straightforward as I’d like. I also wish the free trial included more than 5000 pages so we could properly test the crawl before committing.

We still use Bright Data for raw proxies in one legacy system but everything new goes to Nimble. The difference is the abstraction level. Bright Data sells you infrastructure, Nimble sells you answers. For a small data team that matters a lot. For anything discovery-shaped we run their search agents instead of maintaining query lists.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Proxy pool depth is genuinely smaller. For one project needing residential IPs in specific smaller countries we stayed on Bright Data. If your use case is pure proxy volume, the incumbents still win that specific fight.

We still route raw proxy volume through Bright Data for one legacy system, but anything that’s answer-shaped goes to Nimble. That means less infrastructure for us to own and maintain, and more time spent on the actual questions we’re trying to solve.

We run around 500K extractions a month. At that volume, the pricing works out well for us, and the managed feed option lets a small team handle a lot of data without getting overwhelmed. Support has scaled with us over time without any drop in quality. The search-based discovery also helps us find new sources in our categories without needing to file requests.

The jump from the Scale tier to the Professional managed tier is steep ($7K to $15K per month). We’re stuck in an awkward middle ground, and it definitely makes budgeting conversations “fun.”

Described what we needed in plain English ("pull product title, price, availability, and review count from these 12 grocery sites") and it generated a working agent. We tweaked the schema once and it's been running daily since March. That used to be a multi-week engineering project per site. The agents effectively do their own source discovery through search, which is why setup was so fast.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Generated agents are a bit of a black box. When one returned weird results for a single site I couldn't easily see why. Ended up just regenerating it which fixed it, but more observability would help.

Our targets include some of the most aggressively protected retail and travel sites on the internet. Nimble's success rate on them is the best we've measured, and we've measured everyone we could get a trial key for. Whatever they're doing with browser rendering and session management works. Search and retrieval through real browsers is what gets us into the protected stuff.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

The VX8 render driver pricing for those hard sites is meaningfully more expensive. Worth it for us, but model your costs on the actual mix of easy and hard targets, not the headline $0.90 number.

The Web Search Agents really do adapt to your use case. We trained one on our category (pet supplies retail), and after a few runs the results became noticeably more relevant. It ended up being much better than the generic search APIs we’d tried before.

We’re one of the large enterprise logos they reference. We run tens of millions of pages each month across pricing, shelf, and brand use cases, and the throughput SLAs have held up. Peak periods, including the holiday season, were handled with burst capacity that we arranged in advance. This feels like real enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Technically, it’s excellent. The REST design is clean, the SDKs are solid, and the defaults are sensible once you’ve configured the formats correctly. Data quality is strong and validates well against ground truth. Search relevance is genuinely good too; I just wish there were more community threads to lean on when I run into edge cases.

The community is pretty small. With Scrapy, or even Apify, you can find an answer to almost any problem in forums and community threads. I emailed about a tricky session persistence issue on a banking site at 9am and had a working code snippet from an actual engineer by lunch. That's happened three times now. Structured data feeds into Databricks and works as advertised. We validated the data against our internal numbers over two quarters, and the accuracy held up. The compliance posture—zero retention and PII masking—made our legal review painless, which almost never happens.

The technology is genuinely excellent. Extract quality, search relevance, agent reliability, all best in class among what we tested.

Our plan was upgraded mid-cycle without a clear confirmation step on our side, and canceling required an email exchange rather than a simple button. To their credit, it was resolved and refunded within the week, and they walked me through what happened. Even so, managing or canceling a plan shouldn’t require opening a support ticket.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

Set up monitors on 200 competitor product pages for price and stock changes. Despite being beta it's caught every meaningful change in our spot checks. Alerts go to a webhook and from there into our pricing system. We discovered most of those 200 pages through their search agents in the first place.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

It's beta and the alert noise needs tuning controls. We get alerts for cosmetic page changes. I filter downstream but native significance thresholds would be better.

We were the last to know when competitors changed prices. Now 200 pages are monitored and alerts hit our pricing system the same day, usually within hours.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

Security review was the easiest I've done for a data vendor. Zero retention, encryption in transit, PII masking, audit logs, and they don't train on your data. Procurement approved in three weeks which is a record for us. The product itself is also excellent, but that compliance posture is why we could actually buy it.

SSO setup required their team's help, no self serve. Minor thing but at enterprise tier you expect to configure that yourself.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

I installed their web data toolkit plugin for Claude, and now my research workflows include live web data. I hardly touch the API directly anymore. For quick company research and due diligence prep, it’s become a regular part of my daily stack.

The plugin occasionally times out on very heavy research tasks, which means I have to rerun the job. The prebuilt agent templates also vary quite a bit in depth—some feel genuinely well-tuned, while others come across more like basic starting points.

**What do you like best about Nimble?**

Eighteen tools exposed over MCP. Our agents in Claude Desktop and our production agents in code use the same interface. Evaluating took an hour because everyone could just try it in their existing setup. Adoption inside the company was organic, no mandate needed.

MCP tool descriptions could be richer. Our agents occasionally pick the wrong tool for a task (search vs deep search) and better descriptions would guide them.

The search focus modes are more useful than they sound. Academic mode for our literature monitoring, news mode for mentions, shopping for product intel. Each one clearly retrieves differently. Someone put real thought into this.

I was skeptical about the “self-learning” claim for the Web Search Agents, but after about a dozen runs on our use case (pharma competitive intel), the precision noticeably improved. I saw fewer irrelevant results and better source selection overall. It also seems to remember what good output looks like for us.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

No public changelog page that’s easy to find. Features appear and you learn about them from the newsletter or by accident. For developers that’s frustrating.

Reliability. We run crawls nightly and I can’t remember the last time one failed for platform reasons. Error messages are clear when a target blocks you. Rate limits are generous on our tier. The discovery piece matters too, since the search agents surface sources we didn’t know to crawl.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

The web dashboard feels like an afterthought. Filters reset when you navigate, the job history view is slow with large numbers of runs, and exporting logs requires API calls. For a product this good the UI should be better.

Data shows up in our Snowflake tables on schedule, schema'd, deduped. We didn't build or maintain any of that plumbing. Our analysts don't even know Nimble exists, they just query tables that are always fresh. Which is kind of the point of paying for this stuff.

Backfills on historical data cost extra and aren't self serve. Wanted 2 years of history on a category and it required a services engagement.

We evaluated a range of providers, including Bright Data, Oxylabs, Apify, Firecrawl, and Zyte. For AI agent workloads in particular, Nimble is ahead. Retrieval is optimized for token efficiency, the agent layer reduces the amount of orchestration code we need to write, and MCP support made the integration straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Nimble?**

Firecrawl is free to start, while Nimble isn’t, so we end up losing some internal hackers who just want to try something quickly. The 5,000 free pages do help, but the signup flow still adds friction compared with keyless open source options.

Search, extract, crawl, map, agents. Each is good alone but together they compose into real pipelines. Our flow: map the target, crawl new sections, extract to schema, monitor for changes. All one vendor, one SDK.

The SDK and the raw REST docs occasionally drift. Found a parameter in REST that wasn't in the Python SDK yet. Reported it and they fixed it within a release or two.

We monitor 3 competitors' full catalogs. Map discovers new URLs, crawl pulls the pages, extract structures them. The whole loop is one API family which keeps our codebase small. Data lands in GCS and our analysts query it in BigQuery.

Crawl jobs on very large sites (1M+ pages) occasionally need babysitting. Had two stall out and support restarted them. Throughput SLAs on the enterprise plan should cover this but we're on a lower tier.
