"Effortless Photo Management and Backup Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I use Nextcloud for personal photo storage, sharing, and backup. I can safely store my photos without relying on other cloud services, and without having to delete my memories. One of my favorite features is the automatic download of pictures from my smartphone whenever I'm at home, which allows me to easily manage those pictures in albums and present them to my family over my home network. I've also found it beneficial for backing up my files. The initial setup was quite swift for me, even though it was my first time setting up on-premise apps. Being able to skip Google's or Apple's paid cloud services makes Nextcloud particularly valuable for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

I think the design could be modernized, but it's acceptable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Private, Self-Hosted Storage with NextCloud That Keeps My Data Safe"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

NextCloud lets me keep my data safe and private on my own servers. It’s excellent free software, and that’s a big part of why I use it. Community support is mostly good as well, and when I’ve needed help, it has generally been fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

There are parts of NextCloud that feel cheap or under-developed. For instance, the VFS Client for Mac often fails to sync files to or from my local machine and server, even when the software believes a file to be synced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Facilitate Remote Sharing with Intuitive Use"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I like the platform itself for its ease of use and the way it distributes information. I find the ability to share many files quickly and with various people very valuable, keeping everything centralized. The community also contributes a lot, and they accept these contributions. The solution works very well for sharing files with remote and local teams, which is great because we have people working in different areas of the country. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

I don't use conferences much, and some other solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Total Control and Security with Nextcloud"
4/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I like Nextcloud because being open source and on my own server gives me total control over the system. It is especially valuable for sharing sensitive company files without relying on third parties. I also highlight security as a strong point. The setup was not complex, especially because I set it up using Docker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

Sometimes it has a bit of trouble with the UI in terms of lag, but it might be something normal because we use it through the web and because the internet I have also plays a role in that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Supreme Privacy and Secure Synchronization"
5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I like the control over files that Nextcloud offers, which other clouds do not have. I also value the file synchronization and the option to share them securely. I appreciate how it manages my information with privacy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

The ease of use for new users since there are tools that are a bit difficult to understand if you are new. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ultimate Privacy with Powerful Customization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I love having total privacy control with Nextcloud; being self-hosted means no Big Tech is spying on my data. The auto-sync feature across all my devices is dead-simple, and the secure sharing with passwords and expiry dates is rock-solid. I enjoy the endless customization through 200+ apps, which makes it feel like owning my personal cloud empire. Secure sharing cuts down on sharing hassles while keeping my data locked tight, unlike cloud services that scan everything. The app customization allows me to transform basic storage into a full productivity hub tailored to my workflow, without any bloat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

Nextcloud has a few rough edges that frustrate me sometimes. Initial server setup is complex—takes hours of config tweaks, firewall rules, and SSL certs for noobs. Android app search is slow on large libraries, and occasional sync conflicts need manual fixes. Smoother mobile onboarding with better auto-discovery and faster search/indexing across millions of files would be great. Also, less aggressive battery drain during background sync would make it perfect! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Reliable for Document Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I use Nextcloud to manage documents securely, collaborate with others, and access files anytime from multiple devices. I like Nextcloud's privacy, secure file sharing, and easy-to-use interface. It works smoothly across devices and keeps files well organized. These features help me keep my data secure, share files safely, and manage everything easily without technical difficulty, which makes Nextcloud very practical and trustworthy for daily use. I also enjoy using it with common productivity tools and accessing it via web and mobile apps for easy file management and syncing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

The setup process could be simpler for beginners and performance depends on server configuration. Better onboarding, clearer in-app guidance, and improved performance consistency would further enhance usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Complete Data Ownership, Privacy, and Powerful File Sync & Sharing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

The best thing I like about this platform is that it gives me complete data ownership and privacy, and provides greater transparency into my data security. Their strong file sync and sharing capabilities are very effective. This platform is also synced with an active open source community and hence with a large app ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

Their initial setup is a bit difficult on the self-hosting part. Their performance depends mostly on server configuration. Even though their UI is clean, but still less polished than compared to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
