Whether its contact information or potential relatives, business information, due diligence, charitable and political giving to corporation information - whether in the U.S., Canada or internationally - LNDP is our go to. If we don't have time to go anywhere else, then LNDP is it! **What do you dislike about Nexis for Development Professionals?** There are some issues at times with incorrect birthdates or old email addresses. It would be helpful if these items can be verified - especially phone numbers and emails that at least if they are still active. **What problems is Nexis for Development Professionals solving and how is that benefiting you?** We always need information quickly. Also connections - possible relatives and employment are great. As well as current or past employment or business associations. It's also very helpful to be able to dive into property ownership information. Finally, seeing all possible criminal, bankruptcy, foreclosure in a concise way is super. This comprehensive profile has been a game changer. I also appreciate the new information about different graduates' employment information and what their possible salary or ranges are (or have been). Great for prospecting lists. ### 2. I also use the Company section to discover a company's annual revenue and number of employees, as well as news stories that supply information about mergers & acquisitions, or particular news about staff members. The Individual report occasionally provides information that I haven't found elsewhere about a person's donations. Finally, I sometime use Nexis Dossier to confirm company information, and I've used it for years - before I had access to the rest of the Nexis products - to get company employees' email addresses. I use this tool several times a week, and it's pretty straightforward and easy to use most of the time. **What do you dislike about Nexis for Development Professionals?** I find the real estate information sometimes hard to decipher. I have no idea what to make of the Automated Valuation Report. To be honest, I don't always understand the other real estate reports, especially if there's no deed or transaction history. I also get a little frustrated when the information about possible relatives, though I doubt you can do much about that. What you *could* possibly do is provide a way for the user to contact you when we can confirm that your information is wrong. inaccuracies happen most often with gender, but also with the type of relationship (wife, father, etc.). One other, similar problem: Sometime the same person has multiple listings - same person, but more than one lexID or different biographical details. When this occurs, I have to take the time to check the other listing(s) against the first and against the biographical info I've already gathered. It's a little confusing at times. One of the biggest perks is how much background it gives on a person—things like address history, phone numbers, court cases (when available), and negative news. That kind of info can be a game-changer when you're trying to do thorough due diligence to make sure a potential donor doesn’t pose a reputational risk for your organization. What I also find really useful is the way it shows connections to relatives and associates. It has helped me to identify new prospects just by exploring family ties or business partners of someone we’re already engaging with. I love the address and employer information as well as the potential relatives. Also being able to search for someone by including a relative's name is a great feature! It helps when I can find a professional license when trying to confirm is in a specific occupation such as real estate agent. While it's worth what it costs, it makes it difficult to add users as my team grows. We have many tools and many ways to find this information, but LNDP is always the most accurate that I have found. **What do you dislike about Nexis for Development Professionals?** Because it is so large and so complex I often have to figure out what is and isn't in LNDP. I guess I just would like a more robust training program focusing on specific resources for everyday prospect research work. Just a preference. It is our number 1 tool to use for researching prospects to ensure we are tracking the correct person, have the right address and to determine if they have passed away. **What do you dislike about Nexis for Development Professionals?** There is a need for caution when researching within Nexis. Just because a data point is shown as current, such as an address, does not mean that it is. Further research within the Nexis profile or other tools may be necessary to determine for certain. Additionally, parent/child relationships sometimes get tangled when a parent buys a home for the child or the parent and child have the same name. And perhaps sometimes the "public records" screen can be a little confusing with property addresses vs. owner names and their addresses.
