Neuro Event Labs, founded in 2015 in Tampere, Finland, specializes in AI-driven diagnostic solutions for epilepsy management. Their flagship product, Nelli®, is a non-contact, AI-powered seizure monitoring system that utilizes video and audio recordings to detect and analyze motor seizures. Designed for use both at home and in hospital settings, Nelli® provides healthcare professionals with objective, high-quality data to enhance diagnosis and treatment decisions for epilepsy patients. Key Features and Functionality: - Non-Invasive Monitoring: Nelli® employs a Personal Recording Unit (PRU) equipped with a camera and microphone to capture video and audio data without the need for wearable devices, ensuring patient comfort. - AI-Powered Analysis: Advanced machine learning algorithms process the recorded data to identify and prioritize seizure events with positive motor components, facilitating efficient review by healthcare professionals. - Interactive Reporting: The system generates interactive reports accessible via a web-based dashboard, allowing physicians to review detected events, assess seizure patterns, and make informed treatment decisions. - Regulatory Approvals: Nelli® is CE-marked as a Class I medical device under Directive 93/42/EEC and has received Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. FDA, highlighting its innovative approach to seizure monitoring. Primary Value and User Benefits: Nelli® addresses the critical need for accurate and continuous seizure monitoring, particularly during periods of rest when seizures often go unnoticed. By providing objective, reliable data on seizure frequency and characteristics, Nelli® enables healthcare providers to tailor treatment plans more effectively, potentially increasing the likelihood of patients achieving seizure freedom. Its non-invasive design enhances patient compliance, while the AI-driven analysis reduces the burden on medical staff, leading to improved patient outcomes and more efficient clinical workflows.
