Our data engineers use dbt for data transformation for our core tables - but it was too complex for our analysts (required learning stuff like jinja, yml and git and didn't fit our workflows). We implemented Montara about 8 months ago and the team loves it. No more waiting for data engineers, and the AI agents take care of most of the work - we focus on the SQL business logic. **What do you dislike about Montara?** We would love to be able to set up several Snowflake connections for the same project **What problems is Montara solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before implementing Montara we had to wait for data engineers to prepare tables for us. We constantly had a backlog of days to get support on both small and large code changes and the business suffered. Now we work independently and move much more quickly which has enabled our team to double our capacity. ### 2. The ability to automatically test new code inside the sandbox, while verifying data integrity is a must for us in order to keep production data in the highest standards. The integration with Databricks and Quicksight is good. Its strong coding co-pilot and support from the team make it an important contribution to our output. It's a major step up from our previous solutions **What do you dislike about Montara?** Would love to have dark mode in the editor. **What problems is Montara solving and how is that benefiting you?** Maintaining version control and permission control for all of our code and pipelines so that we can work together without stepping on each other's work. Creating a test environment so that code commits don't affect production data until they are verified. Using a copilot to write code faster. ### 3. The Montara team is amazing — they are very responsive, cooperative, and always ready to help. They develop new features very fast and are great to work with. The interaction with them is super easy, and I really like that I’m not dependent on them — I can work with or without their help, so there’s no vendor lock-in. The product itself is very user-friendly and comfortable to use. **What do you dislike about Montara?** When we first started using the product, it was still very new and not yet stable. It took some time to get it fully reliable, and we had quite a few issues in the beginning. Also, since the product is still young, some features are still in beta and not 100% ready yet. I used to work with flink and spark, but due to ease of use I moved to Montara. Even the implementation is very easy using Montara.
