**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blázsovics M. | Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Easy to use: Microsoft Intune provides a user-friendly interface that simplifies the management of devices and applications, making it easy for IT administrators to configure policies and settings.

Training and support: Microsoft provides extensive training resources, documentation, and support to help users learn how to use Intune effectively and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Cross-platform support: Intune supports a wide range of devices and operating systems, allowing organizations to manage and secure their mobile and PC environments from a single console.

Security and compliance: Intune provides advanced security features, such as conditional access policies, encryption, and data loss prevention, to help protect corporate data on devices and in applications.

Integration with other Microsoft services: Intune integrates with other Microsoft services, such as Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, to provide a comprehensive device and application management solution.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

One of the drawbacks of Microsoft Intune is that it allows only one Intune-managed account per device, which can be problematic for organizations or individuals who use multiple MDM or MAM tools, or have multiple Intune-managed accounts. This can create issues when trying to manage devices or applications across different environments, as it may require users to switch between accounts or devices, which can be time-consuming and inefficient.

However, it is worth noting that this limitation is not unique to Microsoft Intune and is a common challenge faced by many mobile device management solutions. Some workarounds for this limitation may include using virtualization or containerization technologies, or implementing policies to restrict the use of non-Intune managed accounts on devices.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized management: Intune provides a centralized console for managing and securing mobile devices, applications, and PCs, regardless of their location. This enables IT administrators to set policies, deploy applications, and enforce security measures from a single console.

Multi-platform support: Intune supports a wide range of mobile devices and operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. This allows organizations to manage and secure their mobile and PC environments from a single console, regardless of the platforms used.

Security and compliance: Intune provides advanced security features, such as conditional access policies, encryption, and data loss prevention, to help protect corporate data on devices and in applications. It also helps organizations meet compliance requirements by enforcing policies and providing auditing and reporting capabilities.

Application management: Intune allows organizations to manage and deploy mobile applications to devices, including the ability to push updates, restrict access, and revoke permissions. This helps organizations ensure that employees have access to the applications they need, while maintaining security and compliance.

Remote management: Intune allows IT administrators to manage and troubleshoot devices remotely, including the ability to wipe or lock devices if they are lost or stolen. This reduces the risk of data breaches and ensures that corporate data is secure.

  ### 38. The best way to manage enterprise devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay M. | System Administrator/Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Microsoft Intune deeply integrates the management capabilities of the Windows operating system. Microsoft constantly improves the product, and in recent years, it has become a strong management solution for devices running other operating systems as well. A primary benefit is that because it is a cloud-based solution running on the public Internet, your devices receive policy and application updates and report back to Intune from anywhere in the world where they can get online. This is better for users because it reduces the need to connect back to the corporate network over VPN.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Microsoft made design choices in Intune that can be frustrating for IT staff familiar with Configuration Manager. For example, the Company Portal app (used to display software as a corporate app store) only functions for the designated "primary user" of the device. When a non-primary user signs in, or if a device doesn't even have a primary user, the Company Portal does not work. This is problematic for public spaces such as classrooms, where many people might use a device over a period of time. In that case, IT staff must assign every app that any user might need to the device as required, rather than just making it available in the Company Portal for users to install as needed.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to deliver software and configuration policies to devices spread over hundreds of miles. Many of these devices rarely or never return to the corporate network. Microsoft Intune takes the burden of VPN connectivity off of users because it communicates over the Internet.

  ### 39. Intune has a few strengths but high complexity and site slowness weigh it down.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Intune is a pretty high degree of customization, ability to group devices, ability to set multiple version of the same profile type to devices. All of this makes for a decent environment to manage your devices as well as being from microsoft you probably already have access to it with your existing licensing.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

It is so slow and cumbersome to navigate around the primary areas you will need to constantly access. Also when pushing changes to devices this process is extremely time consuming and at some points seemingly random. It can take hours before you can sometimes get a device to receive the needed change. You are not (currently as of review) able to assign a profile or app to just one specific device, you must assign it to a group which either forces you to create groups with just one device in it or push it to many other devices that don't really need it. There are a number of limitations with Intune even with things you would consider simple... For example "banning" an app from iOS devices, I've still not determined the best way to get user installed apps uninstalled from a managed device. Specifying "uninstall" for a specific app only appears to work if the app is managed by Intune itself and I've not located where to request management of an app without actually pushing that app out to all of the devices so it forces management of it and then forcing an uninstall after that. It's just got some things that are very overly complex and not as straight forward as some of the alternatives like SimpleMDM and (by hearsay) Jamf.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intune does give you pretty much the instant capability to start managing basically ALL of your deployed devices from windows, to linux, to android, iOS, etc. So basically a "one-stop-shop". But for it doing MANY things, I don't consider it particularly good at any one thing. So it is a benefit as far as being already included in your licensing (for at least most things) but I would warn to think hard before using it as switching an MDM system after you have a large number of devices enrolled is quite a lengthy and involved process. You will have to manually touch every device pretty much to wipe them and then enroll them into the new system.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Some service outages and Autopilot failures are the most annoying issues in Microsoft Intune. In some cases, new users had a terrible experience with Windows Autopilot. And then IT support has to reset the device and rerun it. This is genuinely time consumption work.
