**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Personally, Microsoft Defender on my Windows operating system is a good basic tool to have protection on my personal computer. For cloud use, it is different since the functions it offers to keep my cloud server protected are much more powerful. Undoubtedly, a solution that Microsoft can provide us with this tool.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

In my particular use, the tool I use on my laptop I always leave running in the background, as it is a very basic tool. I find more powerful antivirus programs from other companies that are competitors, which offer better protection and safeguard the information I have on my personal machine. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

Particularly, it is a very powerful and simple tool, I completely recommend that you download it and try it out. I have been using it for a very short time, and I still need to conduct a lot more tests, but it is a tool that offers endless possibilities and achieves the protection of our devices.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the moment, I am still testing a server that contains data in the cloud, so over time I will find more problems that I can solve with the tool. We cannot deny the quality of this Microsoft product, but I need more time to achieve a more practical use of this service. Currently, I have not had any problems with the application on my personal computer.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

As long as your equipment contains legal software, this tool will provide you with the necessary security within the organization, help you reduce unnecessary costs, and above all, prevent headaches.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) includes EDR and AV in one solution, which improves threat detection for human-operated attacks as well as insider threats. To cover all techniques of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, MDE integrates anomaly-based detection, deterministic countermeasures, and automated reaction in a single modern interface. MDE can be installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, and iOS and Android mobile devices, allowing for strong security and monitoring across all devices managed by a single solution.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Microsoft still has some gaps in terms of integration that they are working to fix. To deploy and control some rules, such as USB device control, you'll need to use Endpoint Manager (aka Intune) or JAMF right now. There are several constraints to deploying MDE for servers with a package similar to laptop/desktop and using the same features. It would be preferable if Microsoft concentrated their efforts only on complete configuration and policy management and deployment utilizing the new Microsoft Security Center for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Servers.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft's advanced threat protection solution is designed to detect and prevent threats that could disrupt an organization's operations. Its endpoint detection and response component helps customers notice an attack in progress through alerts, since this platform features superior real-time attack detection engines that the IT security team can use to trigger.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Overall experience with Microsoft defender, we can now able to manage and deploy the MDATP client from the portal. MDATP has the advanced testing labs and Auto remediation to react towards threads. MDATP provides us a lot of security updates regards the product while available on the client portal.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Nothing, This is simply a perfect fit with the windows Ecosystem.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GUI and advance features available in the portal.

  ### 34. It is good but sometimes not working well with some programs as a musician.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alfredo R. | Technical Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

"Umbrella is a great option because it is easy to work."

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

My music program doesn't work to record something because there's always a bad antivirus for the programs I use, so it's a bad program that only works with certain kinds of people.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

It is beneficial if you only have basic needs, but if you work with heavy programs, it will be a complete failure.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When aiming at my website or trying to send some information, it keeps me secure, which is great, but sometimes it gets stuck with musician records or tries to install from another device, saying it's a virus, which I don't like. It's always the same, and when we try to update to the most recent virus list, it always has the same content. I work with other programs that are awesome, even with customer service. That's why I work with another antivirus; for me, it is more secure and easy to work with. I don't think it is a great option. The defender works if you have a low-quality laptop, but if you spend $900 on one device, you need a better program than just the defender. It's your money at stake. For musicians, it sucks more when you are recording. It's always better to use a Mac for that situation. I think the defender never thinks beyond its basic programs. I remember it always had a poor antivirus and bad signal. In this case, I use another brand of antivirus to get more satisfaction. Many devices have that option, or just make it sustainable because there are many different options in the market.

  ### 35. Microsoft 365 defender, a good choice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sylvia B. | Principal Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

I have bought several security products. Defender has as good or better of a reputation for laptop and computer security. I have found that others tend to want to push their products and will override my current settings. I don't like that.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

So far I have found nothing that I dislike.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned in my first statement, other protection programs have a tendency to want to push their products and or affiliations. They over write my preferences and push Edge or Yahoo or Bing. Again, I like my choices and do not want the others to be forced down my throat. So far Defender 365 does not do that.

  ### 36. Review on Microsoft Defender Antivirus!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Servando D. | Support Agent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

1) The security it gives that we don't have to worry about bugs.
2) When downloading videos and songs, we get an alert if there is someone trying to access without authorization.
3) It cleans out documents that are just taking up space

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

1) Possibly the first time using it, it is kind of confusing.
2) Sometimes, you know it's not needed, and the pop-up notifications appear frequently

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

- Just have patients on the software.
- It will be easy to use, even if you are not tech-wise.
- It would be nice to have an update on the visual aids it offerece.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the issue that people will send me things by email and might come with viruses.
The benefits that i don't have to worry

  ### 37. Does a good job of keeping my PC safe.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | P, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Because this software is free and offers better detection rates than some commercially available alternatives, I'm pleased with it. It's built into Windows and has no set-up issues, and is likely not to conflict with any other applications.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Parental controls are Windows-only. URL filtering only seems to work with Edge and IE. This software is not very configurable.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Defender Antivirus offers a reasonable level of protection and gives me peace of mind. It's reassuring to know that the product developed by Microsoft and is constantly updated to protect against the latest threats.

  ### 38. Microsoft Defender-Underdog amongst Giants

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek A. | Joint Director, PCRA, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It comes as a part of Windows 10 Licensing. This makes it self-implementing of sorts without the involvement of IT personnel. As it is a part of the operating system, there are no issues with conflicts which was quite common with the tools we were using earlier. The upgrade is also tied with windows update which makes managing updates very easy too. Huge licensing costs saved as it is basically tied to the machine and retires only when the machine retires.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The tool has all basic needs that suit our requirement, but a few very advanced analytic tools are not present. The UI can be better.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

It can be a great tool if your organization is primarily based on windows operating system. The tool does work very well and is very capable to protect our resources, but may be some advanced tools, which are very specialized, are not present.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool has replaced our antivirus solution we were using previously. It works in the same fashion as the earlier antivirus, giving the same functionality but with significantly reduced cost and overheads of managing the antivirus servers. We have realized both monetary and management benefits from the solution.

  ### 39. Defender is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nate M. | M, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It's a pretty unobtrusive antivirus software that doesn't seem to eat a ton of system resources.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Some of my crypto mining software is an immediate trigger. Even stuff I make myself but I still understand why. Not really upset at all about it

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

Make sure to set it up with your preferences.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does seem effectivefor Trojans and other things on my PC. Proof that you don't need to pay for expensive antivirus

  ### 40. I recommend it but it's "too strong" if you want to install softwares that aren't legit.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniela B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

I like that it doesn't let anything unseen, checks every corner of your computer and it's very active. It's easy to use and very intuitive, you won't have any trouble getting to know the different features of the software.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

As I said, it's too strong and you have to be careful if you want to use different softwares that could not be legit. Otherwise, if you actually know how a computer works and don't mess with programs like that, this software's highly recommended for you.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Defender for Endpoint:**

I recommend it if you like something that it's easy, something that works and that's well integrated (same family, microsoft) to your computer. For me is everything about trust and on the internet it's hard to find softwares that have everything you need without second intentions. Your data it's going to be safe if you decide to use this software. As we're talking about a basic need having a computer, I highly recommend this antivirus. I hope this review helps someone.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an antivirus, I protect both my pc and laptop, I like using it cuz it's hard for me to trust different softwares cuz I have to know that they're actually work. I trust this one and it helps me a lot, taking on count that I work downloading files all the time, it gives me the peace of mind that my information and my tools are gonna be just fine.

  ### 41. Reviewing Microsoft Defender Antivirus

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Uttam M. | Senior Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Automatic scanning and cleaning of viruses is the best and most valuable feature helping this tool to thrive. If any viruses are found, they are cleaned automatically

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The instrument may be a bit obsolete. An moved forward UI and an analytics tab will keep it in standard with all other benefit suppliers

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its integration to the working framework with facial acknowledgment and biometric acknowledgment functionalities coordinated exceptionally well

  ### 42. Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection make protecting our computers substantially easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken C. | Justice Resource dba Ken Cameron - Independent Legal Associates, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It updates automatically when our OS updates and is flexible enough to fit our needs as far as browsing and working online. It is nice to not need any 3rd party software in addition to our windows platform.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It sometimes is likely to interrupt work with safety pop ups when using new software. The popups are easily dismissed however. it would be nice if it learned our preferences as far as software we trust and what is unknown to us.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have not had any virus or malicious software issues the entire time we have used it. It is great to have just one suite that works well with windows and our office programs.

  ### 43. Very intuitive threat protection but at a high cost

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The interface and integration into existing Windows protection is very intuitive. My testing has provided me a viable alternative to the existing solutions on a couple of clients who are looking to switch to a different software for threat management.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The price point for this solution is high. at $32 per user per month, inclusive of Microsoft Office desktop apps and Exchange email service is still much more expensive than any small business that I support is willing to pay. The software itself is excellent but the pricing turns every head away from a commitment.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrating 2 or 3 3rd party solutions can be a challenge for some end users and even moderately skilled professionals. As an IT consultant, I find that the more integration within one solution, the easier the sell for my end users who, after initial installation and training, prefer self management of their solutions.

  ### 44. Review of Microsoft Defender ATP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The network isolation accessibility is the best feature of EDR tool Microsoft Defender which is missing in most of the modern day EDR tools.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The Initiate live Response option could have been better, it is a bit slow when compared to other live response features in EDR tools.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are detecting major anomalies and configuration realted issues in the systems of our environment also we are running AV scan remotely on the user systems when required.

  ### 45. Great antivirus and peace of mind

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayami H. | Office Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

McAffee has been around FOREVER, and that gives me peace of mind that they KNOW what they're doing when it comes to antivirus protection and computer safety.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It has asked me to remove programs that aren't causing issues.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Antivirus protection and peace of mind knowing my computers are secure and safe without having to worry that they'll get a rogue virus and crash.

  ### 46. A good pre-installed antivirus

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

it comes pre-installed and no installation is required; it's a good basic antivirus and protects against most things; it's overall easy to use; parental control

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

if you're at risk because of your internet activity, it's not good enough; scheduling scans is complicated; doesn't detect phishing scams well

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

great for both my personal and work computers, great for setting up family profiles, meant I didn't have to worry about getting an antivirus (or paying for one) for a long time, means the company is sure everyone has a decent antivirus with the same filters and defenses

  ### 47. More effective than you would think

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamish D. | Senior Sales Manager IMEA/EU/APAC, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Its subtle. it sits behind most processers but you don't see it. its not a massive size program either so another benifit

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Its not as effective as others, generally speaking. eg its not as great picking up Trogens or other pieces of malware

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of low-security network. we solved this problem, relatively cheaply, by using windows defender

  ### 48. One of the best anti virus software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajeev P. | Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

It is a free product from Microsoft that comes pre-installed.it carried out frequent scans and ensures the OS and data stored is secured.automaticall detects threats and pushes it to quarantine for further action

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

The tool is a bit outdated .An improved UI and an analytics tab will keep it in par with all other service providers

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All data that is stored on the harddrive is frequently scanned to ensure data is not corrupted or to find any threats involved in the system.
Once external drives are inserted it ensures a scan I performed so that external virus doesn't get transmitted to the host system

  ### 50. Great AV Solution - and it's built into Windows 10 and FREE

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

Built into Windows. Rated very highly by fair testers. Zero cost.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?**

I wish Microsoft would bring their ATP/EDR solution down in price to easily add-on to Windows 10 Defender.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Protection of Windows 10 devices from viruses.
