BEWARE LEGACY MEMBERS **Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2020 **What do you like best about MerchantWords?** Used MW once in a while years ago when they were new. **What do you dislike about MerchantWords?** We have been legacy members of MW for the past 4-5 years. We received an email overnight stating that our monthly payment had not gone through and that we needed to update payment methods. (We received this email less than 24 hours ago.) Our card set up for auto payment had expired, so I logged in to check on the payment and update with a new card. Once I updated my password, I could see our entire payment history dated years back. Then, within 5 minutes, all of it disappeared! I got on their "chat" line to ask questions with Cristy. She was not helpful. She said that they no longer HONOR LEGACY MEMBERSHIPS. What? What's the point of a legacy membership then? She said she could find no active account for my company with my email. This is a joke and UNTRUE because I had JUST seen all of our payments for the past years. She said she could offer me 20% off a package. I expressed my displeasure with how they treat legacy members. So, WARNING to all legacy members, DO NOT let your card set up for auto payments expire on their site or you will be instantly kicked out of their legacy program. I will not give this company another penny of my money for their lack of customer service and not honoring their legacy program to someone that has always been a loyal customer. There are many other companies that offer these same services, my advice it to go with one of those... **What problems is MerchantWords solving and how is that benefiting you?** None, haven't used in in months. You get instant search results for the keywords you type in. the results are also ranked in order to provide insight on which words are more suitable for your blogs. **What do you dislike about MerchantWords?** The biggest drawback of Merchant works is that it is very expensive. It sometimes narrows down focus while performing keyword research. Sometimes the results can be overwhelming and may result in keyword stuffing **What problems is MerchantWords solving and how is that benefiting you?** Merchant words is efficient for key word research which is crucial to write SEO optimized content. ### 3. All you do is put your keyword into their search, and they will provide you a list of all relevant keywords that are searched on amazon, and their search volume. We have used this a lot for all of our products that we sell on amazon. This gives us a comprehensive list of relevant keywords to use to optimize our listings. You can also search different amazon countries as well **What do you dislike about MerchantWords?** There is not really a way to browse different unique keywords. If you search "cooler" it will give you all the long tail keywords with "cooler" in it. **What problems is MerchantWords solving and how is that benefiting you?** This helps us fully optimize our amazon listings to be able to sell the most products as possible ### 4. You just type in a search term and it will give you all the similar searches and their volume. It will also show you the category for each of the search terms. I use this when creating listings. It really helps determine what keywords to target. **What do you dislike about MerchantWords?** I wish it had a little more features and I think the price is a little high. If you want worldwide stats it's $60/month and $30/month for just US. That's not bad if you are an agency or something but if you just have a few products you want to keep an eye on, it's a bit expensive. Part of why I think the price is high is because I'm comparing it to google search volume, which you get for free through Google's Keyword Planner. Also, if you type in a specific keyword, it will show me nothing. I have to type in general keywords to get any results. I hope they add more features that allow more advanced searching. **Recommendations to others considering MerchantWords:** If you get it, use it a lot. you may not need the account if you are not continually making new listings though. If you have an agency, have them get an account so they can use it with multiple clients. **What problems is MerchantWords solving and how is that benefiting you?** MerchantWords is a must have if you are creating a lot of listings. It helps us decide what keywords to target. Once we see what people are searching, we decide on the keywords and put those in the listings. The keywords that are not the top keywords, we put in the back end. It helps you rank on Amazon better. You can also use it for Amazon PPC campaigns. ### 5.
