After spending ages hunting for a budget-friendly VPS that doesn’t compromise on hardware, I decided to give Melbicom a try. So far, the stability has been excellent. I’m running some fairly heavy containers, and everything still feels snappy, with no throttling at all. At this price point, honest resource allocation is getting rare.

There isn't much to dislike. Since their management control panel offers advanced configuration options, it might require a small learning curve for complete beginners. What I like most about Melbicom is the combination of fast VPS deployment, good infrastructure and very responsive technical support. We use their VPS infrastructure for production network services, so network quality and the ability to get technical assistance quickly are particularly important to us.

The server was provisioned quickly and the control panel is straightforward to use. What impressed me most, however, was the support. When we recently reported a network connectivity issue affecting traffic from a specific ISP, the support team responded within minutes and immediately started asking for the relevant technical details, including affected IP addresses, traceroute and MTR results. The communication has been fast, professional and technically focused rather than relying on generic responses.

For infrastructure where networking matters, having support that actually engages with diagnostic data is a significant advantage. The pricing is competitive for the infrastructure and geographic coverage provided. The main downside I have encountered is that network quality can vary depending on the location and routing. On one of our recently deployed VPS instances, we experienced a connectivity issue affecting traffic from a specific mobile network, while comparable servers in other locations worked normally.

The issue is currently being investigated with Melbicom support, so I cannot yet say where the root cause lies. I would therefore like to see more consistent routing and network performance across locations, as well as better visibility into network paths and upstream connectivity from the customer portal.

The pricing structure for bandwidth overages can be slightly higher compared to base plans, so you need to monitor usage carefully if you run bandwidth-intensive apps. Additionally, while the core control panel is clean and responsive, the UI feels a bit developer-focused and could benefit from a few more automated one-click management templates for beginners. Latency and route quality from Eastern Europe. I tested their public data centre IPs before ordering — Warsaw averaged 30 ms from Minsk with only 1 ms of jitter, Vilnius 33 ms with 4 ms. I chose Warsaw for the lower jitter rather than the lower average. The delivered server matched the test figure at ~34 ms with zero packet loss across repeated runs, so the advertised connectivity is the actual connectivity. That is not always the case with budget VPS providers.

Real KVM virtualisation with full kernel control. I needed to load the WireGuard kernel module, which container-based plans typically won't allow. Ubuntu 24.04 from their template, one apt upgrade and reboot, module loaded.

The assigned IPv4 was clean across all 60 blacklists I checked — no need to request a replacement address.

The billing panel blocks adding funds until an order exists, so you have to create the order first and pay second. Not obvious, and I lost time working out the sequence.

The control panel on the website is clean and intuitive — it's easy to navigate even if you're not a seasoned sysadmin. What stood out most is the pricing: Tokyo-based VPS servers are genuinely affordable compared to competitors, which is hard to find for Asian locations.

On the downside, there's no free backup option — not even a single snapshot included in the base plan. Melbicom provides a wide range of dedicated servers: different configurations, premium for strong system operation performance / reliability and affordable/low pricing for non-mission critical tasks, CPU and GPU-based, located in Europe, US, and Asia, capped and unmetered for heavy-traffic workloads. Apart from the hardware itself; the support is ahead of any other provider I worked before – enterprise level approach, professional, especially around networking – which is super rare nowadays. Setup was fast — had the VPS running and configured the same day I signed up. I pinged support about an SSH key issue and got a real answer, not a boilerplate ticket response. Overall, my experience with Melbicom has been very positive, but I think there is still room for improvement. I would like to see a built-in web terminal and a live console in the client area so I could monitor my running applications and bots without connecting through SSH every time. It would also be very useful to have a built-in file editor with syntax highlighting, allowing users to quickly edit configuration files or source code directly from the control panel. Another improvement would be a more integrated cryptocurrency payment system inside the client area, making it easier to pay invoices without leaving the dashboard.
