Media Cloud has made my workflow much more streamlined in several crucial areas. First of all, it’s meant that when I receive a brief from a project manager, he/she has already made a collection of the footage they believe to be relevant -- making it much easier for me to know what b-roll to implement. This has naturally saved me a lot of time and energy; no longer do I have to spend hours going through footage. My favourite aspect of Media Cloud is the fact that all the legacy source footage can be tagged and made easily searchable. If I need a shot of a certain product in a certain setting, I can put in the relevant search terms and locate it super quickly. It feels very intuitive and for me it has become an essential part of building a narrative. Ultimately, it’s a huge time-saver for anyone working with videos commercially. Sometimes the encoding or transcoding of footage can be a bit slow. This has mostly occurred if the clip in question has a large file size. But given that this process is happening in the background, it really doesn’t bother me much. I usually do other work/tasks or go for a coffee in the meantime. It’s not the biggest issue but in my opinion it could be improved upon a bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
