Their well-designed security system has a full line of custom settings to make sure even the most aggressive spammers don't put any of their garbage spam in your inbox. Secondly, their spam filter makes sure your valid emails don't end up in the quarantine area. False positives are a weakness of many competitors. Adding in protection for many other forms of email assault, such as phishing and viruses, you now have the best security system for your email. The cost of their Security Gateway is much more competitive than any of the other security vendors. If you are looking for high-quality security protection at a very fair price, you must give these folks a try. Their personalized tech support is also top-shelf and very refreshing. Something positive is that it does not consume many server resources, I have validated it in a physical and virtual environment, its impeccable performance, to have historical logs if it occupies a lot of space. Very few problems in its administration and operation, the integration with MDaemon Mail Server is great. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** The updates sometimes generate problems and the support is limited in schedule, the forums exist, but the times are very high. Logs for review and monitoring is not as clear as MDaemon Mail Server. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** Mobile App is necesary to monitor this system and different users profiles **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to have a security filter that allows better control of the mail flow and only transport clean email to users. It is necessary to perform a specific search with your reports and graphs. We implement this solution as the main source of threat detection to nourish ourselves with its tools and improve our workflow thanks to its rapid analysis of emails. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** It is an application that in terms of function and efficiency has no problems, however, visually it is not a powerhouse on the market. Certainly this type of software is more sought after due to the powerful of its tools and the quality of results, but there are companies that also want to implement innovative platforms in all aspects, but it is not a feature of great relevance for us, and therefore we can navigate in it in search of its great management results. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** It is an optimal solution with which you can strengthen security and provide confidence to potential customers, especially around anti-spam threats, providing first-level results, thanks to its innovative and adaptable functions. way in which it works, in a fast and easy way, without complexity for all those who want to manage it, allowing scalable learning and development through it, it works in an excellent way in organizations of any nature and size. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** The files we handle are now more protected, this includes all those that are attached or stored in the email route that we use most often, implementing Anti-Spam and antivirus filters that serve as a strong to detect all threats, even through a complete encryption that serves as a complement to the security of our system. We can in turn add all those suspicious senders to a black list, so that they cannot send any threat. ### 6. It works well for spam filtering. --Edit 9-24-2020-- Since I wrote this, MDaemon has updated their product to include high availability and thus I've moved that from the "dislike" to the "like" category. Thanks guys for listening to your feedback and creating features that we are looking for! **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** They need to work with interfacing with 3rd party antiviruses and separate command line functions that can run external scripts against the email before delivery. Lastly, it needs a service/backup/issue monitoring tool that will notify admins if there are problems. When problems do pop up, we have to use a 3rd party tool to recognize them (such as the service dying for no reason) as SG doesn't send us any warnings. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** I would recommend it, however make sure that you don't need to integrate another antivirus product into your gateway product or look at forums for ways to get around the 3rd party antivirus integration issues. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are filtering our Exchange environment with SG for several domains. It works perfectly as a filter for spam, phishing and virus emails. Once the configuration is completed successfully, no further intervention is required. Its cost is really good, accessible for all the benefits it provides. Notifications are explicit so it is easy to know what the problem is. The support is excellent, the few problems that came our way were fixed in a very short time. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** It is not a problem in itself but we would like them to add an integration with Outlook or Gmail that allows to automatically include emails to a white or black list. You can totally have mail flowing through Security Gateway within 10 minutes of install/config. When fine tuning, the options are well defined. The application is light weight and does not require lots of resources. I like the AD integration for authentication sources so that you can have multiple servers for multiple domains. This solution works for hosting and also for individual organizations. I have used Security Gateway for about 5 years and watched the product evolve. MDaemon Technologies definitely stays on top of the email game and totally incorporates the latest features into their product. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** The envelope encryption is being offered through a 3rd part subscription service and there is no option to host yourself. The support is still at an early stage and I hope that hosting the back end yourself will someday be a possibility. You have nothing to lose, it’ll take you 30 minutes tops providing you have general knowledge of your environment. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using Security Gateway in front of Microsoft Exchange Server to filter email and DDoS attacks at parameter. Setting up accounts, removing inactive accounts, configuring dial upaccess to remote SMTP servers, manage mailing lists and checking fo rsoftware updates is just completed by a few clicks. The ability to merge my multiple email accounts in to one SG account allows for quick review of quarantined messages. I've been using SG since it's inception and have been a lifelong fan of AltN. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** My only criticism of SG is the interface feels a little dated. It's perhaps time for a refresh and modernization. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use SG to frontend our entire company's mail platform including our support and customer care inboxes. The daily email reports and more advanced GUI reports available really help you access what is happening on the mail platform. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** Some of the more advanced features is a bit more difficult to understand and configure but luckily Google and customers support is always close at hand. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** It is really work while spending some time installing and evaluating Security Gateway for your email services. The AntiSpam features has also drastically reduced Spam and with additional Administrator options enable you too perfect the spam detecting rules. We are a small service provider who hosts are number of email domains for our clients. We like to use open source products as much as possible, but a mail gateway product that really works is hard to find. Couple that with the great user interface for each user that is linked directly to their back end email account, our users can use one login to manage both email and their spam gateway. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** There is nothing at this time the I find in this product. I’ve used different email gateway, and Security gateway is the only application that actually provide all the tools I need to protect our mailboxes against spam, Spoof, and malicious emails out there. it is equipped with all antiSpam tools at your disposal (SPF, DKIM, DMARC and more). MDaemon has been around for more than 2 decades, for me, they are the most trusted company when it comes to email technologies. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lots of annoying spam, spoof and junks. There is a lot of functionality that can be adjusted by the admin. Settings can be adjusted for exactly what your company needs. Excellent product - gives you a secure feeling concerning email. Our company was bought out recently and switched us to Office 365, which is terrible. I miss my Security Gateway! **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** Can't think of any "cons" to the product. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had a huge issue with "spoofing emails, as well as phishing emails. Simple and straight forward for end users to check and release any false positives. Ability to modify how often users receive notification of messages that were quarantined or otherwise not delivered. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** Yearly licensing can be costly especially when a large number is required. Some of the initial setup can be confusing if you are also using built in SPAM protection on an existing mdaemon mail server installation. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** MDaemon has options to demo the product, it's definitely worth taking a look at. Quick to setup and easy to use. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** Spam and virus detection and prevention. Security Gateway filters those out so i don't have to deal with them.They also spot the emails with viruses and weeds those out. It will also track my companies email and stop any spam from being sent from one of my employees email. **What do you dislike about Security Gateway?** There's not much i dislike about Security Gateway. I' m certain there are more tools and things happening behind the scenes that i don't know about. If anyone were to show me, I would probably get tired head and not fully understand the behind the scenes stuff. It would be exhausting for me to try to learn all it can do. **Recommendations to others considering Security Gateway:** I would recommend Security Gateway to anyone with email. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Security Gateway i don't have to weed through all those emails myself and have more time to do real work. Most other email security software is a one size fits all type of product. Unfortunately, every company has different requirements, Security Gateway makes an extremely flexible package. Software works great at what it does. **What problems is Security Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using the software to filter out all the junk mail we used to get that would slip right by our Exchange server. The Security Gateway acts as our 'edge' server.
