## Mango Languages Reviews
  ### 1. still a newer user but so far so good!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay B. | editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I like that the program regularly reviews some of the prior lessons. I'm doing the lessons very slowly when I'm able as one of my personal goals at work, so it's helpful to make sure I'm still retaining everything as I go. I took French in high school and college, so I do know the basics already, and I can say that the program does a great job sharing cultural tips and different grammar rules along the way as new ideas are regularly introduced.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

This is such a minor thing, but the sound it makes when you complete a section is a very piercing ringing noise. I need the volume up to hear the rest of the program, but I could do with a quieter celebratory noise! I also wish there was a section containing spiritual terms since that would help in my field of work.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

This is a great option for learning a language on the side (at your own pace) or refreshing your knowledge of a language you used to practice. If you have a public library card, this is a great free option.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When my team at work receives information from the field in French, the best we can do right now is to run the answers through Google Translate. That works well enough but isn't always the best when we're trying to quote ministry workers. I hope that over time, Mango Languages will help me surpass the basics of French and allow me to go one step beyond Google Translate to understand the nuances that a translation software cannot comprehend.

  ### 2. Excellent Program! Look

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina W. | Holistic Wellness Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I learn very well with Mango Language's methodology. The repetition and more importantly, direct application have been great. The lessons are concise, relevant, and comprehensive. The progression of lessons make realistic sense for a person who is going to be visiting another country or needs to learn to survive quickly in another language.
It's clear that they are building up different lessons for diverse learning styles. I absolutely love the movie learning! The color coded subtitles are gold (no pun intended)!
One of my favorite features is the "literal translation." That has been invaluable as I decipher the foreign grammar.
As far as conjugation is concerned, it's great that ML doesn't force us to read boring grammar charts and other things like that. Makes it easy to want to stick with the program and continue to learn.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

I dislike the fact that there are very few pictures on the Mango Languages platform. I have to supplement my visual learning with other programs. I would ask the developers to please improve this aspect of the service and allow us to relate words to things and pictures, in order to cut down on mental translation. I also would like to have a more robust video learning area. It seems that ML is working on that.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Ask ML for more audiovisual elements.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is important for me to be able to communicate with clients from all over the world. Mango Languages has helped me to

  ### 3. Mango Languages

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maricela D. | Accounting Techn, Government Administration, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

It is free! (Exception) The program is very upbeat. It makes it fun to learn the language. The repeat of the words and phrases is also helpful. They are also grouped into groups that are logical. Great for classrooms and students. The recording of the pronunciation compared to the teacher is also helpful in improving the learning of the language. And you can go at the pace you feel comfortable with. Another great feature is that it explains about the culture. Another great reason to have in the classroom.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Do wish it would come without a library card. But you have to have one in order for it to be free. Also, the grammar needs to be more detailed. Some features do not work when downloaded on Amazon Fire Kindle for some reason. Maybe with an update some of those problems will get fixed. Not many languages as the computer version but still plenty to choose from.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Have a library card to get the program for free.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the moment, I am not solving any problems at work with the application. I am using it to personally benefit myself and improve my language in French. I have learned a lot since using the program. My sentences sound better. Although, I have very good pronunciation abilities, I believe this has sharpened them even more. I has provided me with more scenarios and logical application than other programs. I will continue to use it and put the information into practice.

  ### 4. Mango Languages

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline Z. | International Baccalaureate Teacher, Middle Years Program, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I like how practical the chapters are for Spanish, specifically in that the information that you learn is extremely useful for future conversations and travels to Latin America. It is a very engaging way to learn a language. I would strongly recommend for people who would like to learn other languages and improve their communication skills in French, Spanish, German, etc.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

I dislike that sometimes the program can be a bit repetitive in terms of the information that you are learning and I at times wish it would move faster based on my level.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

I strongly support this program and think that Mango Languages should continue to provide interactive and engaging programs that assist in language learning. The chapters are very engaging and I would definitely recommend to other people interested

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mango Languages provides an interactive and engaging way to solve communication problems conducted internationally. I think it is very important for all staff who are engaging on an international level in multiple languages to gain necessary linguistic skills to communicate, which Mango Languages offers.

  ### 5. Great addition to library database offerings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Libraries | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

There are so many languages to choose from! I appreciate they offer Latin America and Castillian Spanish. You can also used closed captioning if you are unable to use headphones to listen to the activities or if you an accessibility issue. I enjoy that the software incorporates oral and written activities.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

I wish it were easier to skip around in certain sections. If you want to skip ahead a chapter it is difficult to do so. Some of the topics are not helpful or relevant, but I guess the purpose is to increase vocabulary.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

I highly recommend this product. I just logged in after not using the product for several months and it was still on the lesson I had been completing at the time. It is great that it picks up where you left off. I like how the language instruction varies. It really helps you build your skills with speaking, reading and writing.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is offered as an educational tool for our public library. Customers can access Mango languages through our website and using their library card number. This is a great supplement for English Language Learners. Our library is committed to reaching out and serving our vulnerable populations and this software helps in that goal.

  ### 6. Tried several language apps--Mango is tops!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

If you're someone who likes to know the context of what to say when, and get plenty of patient reinforcement and practice, you might try this app. Duolingo just didn't make sense to me as much as Mango, and Rosetta Stone didn't provide enough context for grammar/sentence structure. I dabbled with a couple others from Google Play Store and the App Store but they were less than memorable.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

It's sometimes hard to navigate past what you've already covered before if you switch accounts between library cards, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Give this a try and see if it works for the way you think, especially if you've tried other language programs and haven't felt like you got a good understanding from it. This is far more than your basic rote-repetition program! (See if you can access through your local library.)

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm looking to the future, hoping to live in Europe again. I want to be better prepared than the last time we were there, and I'm glad to be able to dabble in multiple languages instead of only one as with other programs.

  ### 7. Great way to learn a new language!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor M. | Photographer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I like that this app teaches you phrases that you will actually use and it doesn’t just teach you how to speak the language, but it also teaches you about the culture of that language!

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Mango Languages is higher priced compared to other similar programs, but Nango Languages does go more in depth with teaching, so I think it’s worth the price.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mango Languages gives me the opportunity to speak with some of my Spanish speaking employees and understand them.

  ### 8. Online multi language learning applications for all

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

the amount of flexibility associated with it being online and the constraint of not having a mobile app forces you to sit down at the table in front of the computer to study the languages

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Its not very organic. still really hard to learn since I'm already past adolescent ages. The platform is not the best in terms of being really user friendly. the lagging doesn't help either

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Make it more organic and user friendly and entertaining for everyday use. This way, users would like to grasp languages more. I also felt like some of the translations were also a little off and didn't make sense. Also, throwing some pop culture into the questions/scenarios would be helpful as that would make learning the language easier and the person learning would understand the current cultural aspect of the language as well.

Pronunciation is also another factor that makes it hard to just sit there and learn on mango. I feel like the way the words are being said aren't accurate enough and since they don't sound as realistic as they should be, it makes it hard to feel if my pronunciation is correct or not either.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

personal goals of being able to pick up more languages so that i may travel and work internationally for work and/or relocate

  ### 9. Perfect if you are interested in learning new languages!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

It is convenient and easily accessible. It is used online so that makes the whole platform easy to use. On top of that, there are a ton of languages to choose from. It lets you have a trial run at the app. You can subscribe and use it for free, and if you decide you like the platform then you can pay for a subscription. If not, you can cancel any time.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

For me, I have no issues with it. But I can only imagine for those who don't have English on their belt - they wouldn't be able to use Mango Languages, you'd have to speak English proficiently.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Have a language base of other languages besides English so it will attract a wide variety of users.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, I am not using this to solve problems. It's more for my own personal knowledge gain. I'm learning more of a language and that's important for me. However, I'm sure companies that have shareholders overseas would benefit from using this product in communication with them.

  ### 10. I love this software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenda B. | Development Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

It makes it a fun way to learn a language. It is allot like "Pimsleur" so if you like that you will like this.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

The phrases they teach are not always relevant to a general conversation you might need to have.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

I would highly recommend this and if you are a member of a library you can access it at no charge.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When speaking with people from other countries you can not only have a better understanding of what they are saying but you can communicate better because the things you are saying are less likely to get distorted in translation.

  ### 11. Great Communicator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathy D. | BA/Residential Counselor, Individual & Family Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I love the fact that I am able to learn a new language at my own pace.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Nothing at the moment, still learning the app.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been beneficial because there are many different languages that you can learn. So for Spanish speaking customers it bridges a gap between workers and customers.

  ### 12. Quiere helpful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

It features exercises that push students to get a better understanding, build, and create conversations in the real world.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

The material is tedious. It does not include foreign alphabets and scripts and it lacks or scoring in exercises.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I benefit from Mango through its topical dialogues using the main components, which are vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture; to make sure students can get proficiency in different language.

  ### 13. Great for teaching conversational skills

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

Mango languages is great because you can go at whatever pace you’d like. And some of the languages have great teachings

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Since it seems it is all written out by different people, some languages are better written than others. Some are clear and well edited while others are inconsistent and quite odd.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to reach a larger number of guests and clients

  ### 14. Good lessons and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

Really engaging, not boring at all. Made learning language (French for me) fun.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

Not a lot. Not as nice of an interface as other softwares.

**Recommendations to others considering Mango Languages:**

Use it consistently to get the best results!

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely would be helpful for international companies. You start by learning greetings and common phrases, so even if you aren't totally fluent you can converse a little.

  ### 15. Great for learning a new language!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

I love that it was offered free from my academic institution. The lessons were interactive and never boring.

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

Langauge barriers and the accessibility

  ### 17. Fantastic resource!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle V. | International Student & Scholar Advisor, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Mango Languages?**

I love the fact that I can switch between languages, it's a great resource when I'm preparing to go on an overseas trip (China), and it lets me practice the languages that I've learned but don't use on a day to day basis anymore.

**What do you dislike about Mango Languages?**

It took some time to figure out all of the keyboard controls as well as the voice recording, but with practice, it wasn't an issue.

**What problems is Mango Languages solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While it's not something I need as part of my job having the ability to say a word or two in another language or even just pronouncing someone's name properly goes a long way in making international students and scholars feel comfortable when they meet with me for an advising session.

  ### 18. Mango Languages Review!

It's a wonderful way to learn something new and productive. Go for it.
