Now easier to use than ever, Logic Pro X is my DAW of choice. The new dark interface is easier on the eye and addition of the advanced tools mode make the inteface less cluttered. The quick help feature is handy when mousing over unknown features as it provides some clarity. Track list interface is now much easier to use and now you can select each Track individually!

It does seem like Apply are "dumbing" down Logic a little and making it a more accessible tool for the masses.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The only donwside is that it takes a bit of time to learn all the functions but it is worth it if you look at the amazing productions that you can make.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems that I am solving: having a recording studio at hand whenever I want to create a new piece of music.
Benefits: portability, usability, convenience.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly start a recording project with a client to get an idea down with a few clicks. This is much needed for me

  ### 8. Logic Pro X for Starts

  ### 9. A complete DAW for all of your recording needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie B. | High School Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The best thing about Logic Pro X is the intuitive design. There are many different ways to do the same task, allowing you to create a workflow that makes the most sense to you.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

You can only use it on a Mac. I happen to like Macs a lot for music creation, so it's not that big of a deal. I also wish there was a simple way to port songs into other DAWs, but no DAW really does that.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you have a Mac, try out Garageband to see if you like it. Logic is far superior to Garageband, but you can get a really good idea if you like the workflow. If you're a beginner, you could even stick with Garageband until you find yourself hitting it's limits.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create music with a full set of instruments easily. I can demo any sound I want. Sometimes the software instruments sound good enough to keep in a final recording. Other times they need to be replaced with real instruments, but they really do a great job of filling out the sound on a demo recording.

The drummer is also a huge benefit in Logic. It can create different styles of beats for you. Drums are one of the harder instruments to program, but for demo purposes it makes it really easy.

  ### 10. nice software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The Wiring is very good and comfortable.
the flow of the Logic is great.
the built in plugins are great too.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The mixer isn't so comfortable and there's no group editing.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The built-in instruments sound really good

  ### 11. Great DAW

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Built-in plugins and audio effects. Efficient

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Apple only product and limited hardware to build from

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Use apple

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of my music production problems and it’s super efficient

  ### 12. Logic Pro X - The must-have upgrade from Garageband

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** M H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

As a home recording musician, Logic Pro X pretty much enables me to do everything that I want with my music. Even my podcasts are edited in Logic Pro, along with some of my video files.
The interface layout and basic instruments/effect you get along with the software pretty much makes it a great all in one music tool for beginners and professionals.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

You will need a Mac for Logic Pro X. It sometimes is a bit limiting, as you might want to continue to work on some music on another computer. It does not run on Windows or Linux, so you really need to buy a Mac just to use this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you own a Mac and you need a great all in one package to make music with, Logic Pro X is your best choice. It is pretty easy to get started with but it also has some great professional tools built-in for the professional musicians out there.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating great sound files for my Youtube videos and Podcast. The fact that it contains a lot of pre-build in effects and instruments makes it a great piece of software to make music.

  ### 13. Intuitive music production software for beginners and pros alike

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Digital Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The UI is really clean and simple—there are a few drop shadow touches on the knobs, etc, but they don't go overboard. Automation, mixing, and effects are all super-easy to access and browse.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

When you export, Logic exports everything—even blank space where the play head was. For example, if you record a really long track then delete part of it, you'll get this really long silence in the exported track.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you're a Mac user it's a no-brainer.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to record and mix podcast audio as well as personal music projects. Coming from Garage Band, there are SO many better features that help you achieve a professional sound.

  ### 14. Logic has all the tools I need for music production and mastering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy C. | Account Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

There are lots of different audio workstations out there today, but I like Logic Pro X because it works on Mac and the tools are very comfortable for me to use. The main area that I work with is the note sequencer which has very particular spacing and programming capabilities. By default, Logic has many quality sounds and other effects that allow me to make very robust music productions right after it is installed.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Configuring some of the effects in Logic Pro X are very complicated. I think it can take many years of developing an familiarity for different sounds to understand how to make the best adjustments to settings. I think the pricing is competitive, but compared to other software in general, Logic Pro X is quite expensive, especially when I have to buy many different add-ons to get the unique sound that I'm looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Logic Pro can be great if you are familiar with many of the common processes involved in music design and production. I would check out many of the videos on YouTube and other websites to help walk you through many different effects settings and sounds that you can create to match certain project needs.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro X is a very comfortable music environment that allows me to quickly load it and make edits with a minimal amount of clicks and movements throughout the software. Logic Pro X has many of the capabilities that higher-end studio software, like Pro Tools and Cubase might have. Instead of having to rely on an actual physical keyboard or MIDI controller, I can use the visual note programming tool to create the sounds in a more organized way.

  ### 15. Most user friendly DAW. Great for songwriters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Less crashes and way more user friendly than other DAW's such as Pro Tools. The number of operations it takes to execute some of the same procedures as Pro Tools is less and way easier.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Sometimes it can crash, but you just have to keep adjusting the buffer size. I still find it crashes less than other DAW's.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you have projects/demos/ideas with a short turnaround time and need to get it done fast, Logic Pro X is the way forward. Especially for someone like me who finds other DAW's way too long winded and more complicated in comparison.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up songwriters at a workstation in a small studio with Logic Pro X is way easier than Pro Tools. No iLock required for plug ins etc and very compatible with most audio interfaces. It's pretty much plug and play.

  ### 16. Best audio editing program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafa S. | Rafa Sanchez, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I love the functions it provides me. It's easy to use if you are a music producer. I use it for making beats and for making my own songs since 2015. All the song I have released are from there.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Sometimes there are functions that doesn't work properly (compression for example). When doing the bounce you can have problems with sound if you don't do a good job on compressing and mixing. Logic could help you do this.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Use it if you need a good program to edit music (professional)

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing music and audio since 2015.

  ### 17. Logic Pro X is one of the most precise audio editing applications I have used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miriam H. | Digital Content Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I generally like working on creative projects with the Mac operating system, which Logic Pro X is exclusively designed for. Logic is the type of software that allows me to work on sound projects intuitively. The drag and drop features, various sliders and tools help me to create the sound I'm looking for with minimal effort. When I want to work on more advanced projects, Logic Pro X gives me the capabilities to activate all the latest sound modules and extensions to give me a larger variety of sounds and effects to work with.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Compared to some simpler audio editing tools, Logic can be complicated if you want to refine the sound for professional use. I think that the pricing isn't so bad, but if you factor in all of the different plugins that you would need to create complete sounds, the overall all cost you'd be paying can get quite high.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

For those that use Mac, I don't see how you can't use Logic Pro X for sound editing and production. There are simpler apps such as GarageBand, but Logic will give you everything you need for even the most complex sound editing and music production projects.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro X is a smooth sound editing tool in almost every way. The tools are similar to actual physical devices that I would use for sound editing, so if someone was used to using an actual real world sound module, they won't have to learn too much about specific functionalities that are different in the digital version of the tool. I think that the overall sound quality has been excellent, even if we don't apply any effects to the audio.

  ### 18. Easy to use recording software, without the need to learn a sound desk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben R. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X is now the best step up from GarageBand. While GarageBand is a stepping stone and Logic Pro X can look like GarageBand at first, by enabling Advanced Tools in Logic, you unlock a sophisticated piece of software that unlocks creativity.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

For some, you may find if you know Pro Tools, you will find Logic Pro X confusing. After a little bit of study and use, it becomes easy but just different from other software.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to get students to easily record music without needing a lot of knowledge of recording software.

  ### 19. I am a producer who uses Logic Pro X Exclusively

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach K. | Independent Business Owner, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I absolutely love the simplicity of the program. The help feature that allows you to hover over different objects and get a detailed description of its functionality. The cost of Logic compared to other DAW’s is untouchable.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I can honestly say there isn’t anything that comes to mind when it comes to dislikes. I enjoy the program so much!

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you are new at producing, definitely give Logic Pro X a shot! It’s extremely user friendly and easier to learn than all other DAW’s in my opinion.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started my producing journey with ProTools. It was a very in depth program that, ironically enough, didn’t nearly have as many inclusive “pro tools” as Logic did. Logic helped me learn the fundamentals of producing with it’s easy to learn and navigate interface.

  ### 20. A great software on Mac for producing music

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I like that it has an abundance of features and potential when it comes to samples, loops, mastering and editing music. There are a LOT of loops and software instruments you can download for free and use. On top of that, you can install third party plugins and instruments with ease. I've been using this software for five years to produce music for my projects, games and for fun when I have free time.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I am not a fan of the price. It is $199.99 to purchase and download it. It's a steep price for one piece of software but then again, what comes with it and the long term usage is justifiable for the cost. The other thing I dislike is the once in a while crashing I had at one point from doing too much at once in the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

I recommend checking out this software if you're into producing music. The possibilities are endless and definitely check out third party plugins and instruments you can implement.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once in a while if I have numerous apps open, my mac may slow down and it will crash if I do too many tasks in Logic Pro X at the same time while playing back the music. I usually now have one or two apps open when I use Logic Pro X and I don't have this issue anymore. This has made my mac performance better and I'm a lot more productive as a result.

  ### 21. I use Logic almost every day producing music

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian J. | Graphic Designer/Film Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The intuitive nature of Logic is great. Everything seems to be where it should be which allows the software to get out of the way of the creative process so I can focus on making music.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I honestly don't have much to complain about myself but others have taken issue with using Logic to produce Hip Hop music. I personally use and enjoy making Hip Hop music with Logic but I've heard this elsewhere.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Start off with Garageband and move onto Logic when you feel you're ready.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic has entirely opened the door to making music to me. I started using Garageband at first then quickly started using Logic when I realized that both programs are essentially the same in terms of how they're used. Having Garageband as a stepping stone was great and is a smart way to get more people into the act of making music without being intimidated by the software. Compared with other DAWs like Ableton, I think the skeuomorphic design certainly aids this process in a way that the other DAWs can't compete with. If you're a guitar player and you have an amp at home, you can see your guitar amp in Logic the exact same way that it is in real life which helps with the transition to using this software.

  ### 22. Logic Pro, Logically So

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer V. | English Second Language Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro has been the most intuitive go to software for production work. Ive been using Logic since version 4.0 when it was owned by Emagic. Logic is, well, logical. Its streamlined workflow allows me to approach problems from any angle, year after year and the updates rarely cause hinderance.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Its hard to say what is not to like, but I suppose the skins could be modifiable. With that being said, I never had this be a problem in the 15 + years of its use.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

This software that is all encompassing that keeps up with trends and needs is also compatible with the best third party plug ins as well. Ive been using it with no problems with Waves and cross platform as well.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether it be production, engineering, sound design...Logic has always had all angles covered. No problems were had whatever projects were worked on.

  ### 23. Garageband in Disguise

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

If nothing else, Logic Pro X at least has a simple interface that wouldn't scare away most new users, and would look scarily familiar if you've ever used Garageband in the past.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The click sound is hardly every loud enough or audible, and the "grid" is the worst I've ever used of all DAWs that I have experience in.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you're looking for something familiar and simple, with Logic is not a bad choice. If you're looking for something high-performance, I would recommend something else.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not found many solutions unique to Logic Pro X. It does seem fairly flexible on a basic level and has most components you would look for in a DAW, but I don't think it excels or the best in any one area. Only benefit would be its similarity to Garageband for new and beginner-level users.

  ### 24. It's more than just "Garageband on steroids"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Aside from being one of the first in the game to offer the most visually pleasing interfaces to work in, it's unbelievably powerful and stable. The interface is certainly familiar for Garageband users, so hopping right in makes Logic very accessible. But with a few clicks and changes to settings, Logic can become one of the most advanced and powerful DAWs out there.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Probably the biggest issue would be that Logic isn't available on PC. So working with other musicians/producers can be cumbersome if they're PC-only and using some other DAW like Pro Tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you're new to it, go look up tutorials online, read Logic's documentation, and learn as much as you possibly can. Take a day and audition each plugin that comes with Logic so you know what each does. Look up tutorials on the plugin. Sign up for classes on Skillshare or Udemy or some other service. It can seem daunting, but you won't regret it.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Here's the most common problem of all: music creators aren't generally the richest of the bunch. Now contrast that with the price of most high tier DAWs, and it's no wonder why "cracks" have been the biggest problem with DAW and plugin makers for years. Logic offers everything you need in a DAW with reasonable pricing. Any serious musicians, no matter how poor, can see the value in investing in their own personal copy of a pro level DAW, that isn't cracked, and is able to keep up with all the latest updates.

  ### 25. A Solid and Reliable DAW for All

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Valentin F. | Sound Apprentice , Performing Arts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X is first and foremost a DAW that makes use both easy when work needs to go quickly and at the same time deep when there is time for detail and precision. While I have used Logic for incredible complex mixes and projects that stretch most DAWs to their limit, Logic remains usable and intuitive throughout this. At the same time, Logic is a software that I can quickly open and edit/record/process a track in in a matter of minutes without great difficulty or stress

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The biggest weakness fo Logic is that it is not possible to take external VST plugins (the most common format of audio plugin) and apply it to your current Logic session. This is a considerable weakness from most other commercial DAWs, especially ones in the same price and capability class. This is somewhat mitigated by the fact that Logic comes pre-loaded with a massive suite of instruments, sounds, FX, and plugins that cover many of the bases that external VSTs usually would.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you have a Mac and are working in Audio, this is a no-brainer solution. When you compare it with its competitors, it delivers far, far more for the price that it is offered at, and is enough of a standard that many people will recognize it and be able to collaborate.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

fIs is a fundamental part of audio processing to have a DAW that takes care of audio editing requirements. In this sense, Logic fulfills a basic, fundamental layer of audio production.

  ### 26. Excellent piece of software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lynnette C. | Instrumental Teacher, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I've still to experience a large amount of the features, but I love the huge array of sounds and loops available,. I really like how easy it is to record something and make it sound professional. It is a massive help with all the teaching I do.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I do find it's somewhat user-unfriendly at times. It's taken a huge amount of time to get to grips with it from coming from Logic 8 & 9.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

I definitely recommend Logic X - but I would tell people that it's important to either take a course to learn about how to use it. I got a lot of help with Logic 9 during my degree, and a lot of it transfers over, but I have had to brush up on the differences by using tutorials etc.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an incredible help to create backing tracks for my students, where there may be none available, or I need to transpose. (I use Sibelius first, then transport it into Logic, as you can add more sounds and make it sound much more authentic). I create recordings to help my choirs learn their parts, so they can practice in their own time, if they would like. It helps to make my students and choristers a lot more at ease.

  ### 27. The Most Comprehensive and Approachable DAW on the Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy V. | Manager of Software Development, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X is a lot of bang for your buck that keeps on growing over time with new (free) additions to the platform which make it a comprehensive suite for music making on a macOS machine.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The learning curve can be quite steep and the UI occasionally buries some items which make it difficult to discover on your own. Additionally, sometimes what your looking for has an obscure name so it's hard to find in the help manual or by searching the web for a solution. Lots of things are learned from trial and error which is quite inefficient.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you are a macOS user and you're interested in professional mixing or music creation than this is the tool that I recommend over any other tool. Close seconds would be Pro Tools or Reaper.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Logic Pro X for music composition gigs that I get hired for. These usually result in writing original music for plays. The director will give me an idea of what their expectations are musically for their production and I'll use Logic Pro X to jot down ideas, orchestrate those idea, mix those ideas, and lastly bounce and render those ideas for distribution.

  ### 28. Everyday use, Demos, writing and production.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X is Intuitive, flexible and powerful. Whatever you may happen to be working on Logic probably has the tools needed. Enjoy great stock library sounds, outboard gear and, decent modeling.Flex mode is a powerful tool that will take projects to the next level in tightness.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

It's vast enough that learning all the particulars can take a while.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Plan on spending time getting to know the ropes, the learning curve isn't too steep but there is a lot to learn.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has all the tools and possibilities needed for pro level producing.

  ### 29. Logic Pro & AbletonLive, the future of...ProTools :-)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xtian G. | musician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Relative to many digital recording suites / Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), Logic Pro X is (nearly?) universally respected, widely used and INTUITIVE, which is more than I can say for industry leader and sort of dinosaur Pro Tools.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Could be even more intuitive and use more colour-coding to make identification easier. Doesn't always play well with others, including midi controllers (buy a very compatible one!) and dislikes PC. Mac continues to be the snob in the sandbox but not without any reason. Fact is, Logic Pro makes more sense than many DAWs. I do hate the updates and how they don't synch with a lot of plug-ins. This is a weakness Apple seems to refuse to want to address but it's one that anyone on a Mac suffers through no matter which DAW software they choose, so far as I can tell. DO NOT upgrade your Mac computer's OS unless you are advanced and not in the middle of a big project. Wait until you are doing all new stuff or you might regret the trouble you may encounter with compatibility issues as the new OS fails to synch with software developed for previous versions of operating systems by Apple. You've been warned!

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

I'd choose either Ableton Live or Logic Pro (or both). These seem to be where it's all heading. We'll see if Pro Tools will really stand the test of time and a challenge from these superior software (IMHO).

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro saves me time and frustration over ProTools. It saves my budget to. It's affordable and saves me stress, grief and lots of engineering costs that I could never afford. With Logic Pro X as my central studio piece, I can record, edit, mix and fully realize songs, soundtracks, commercials and ideas with RELATIVE ease at an approachable price. This is important in the money-starved music industry.

  ### 30. Fantastic DAW for a reasonable price.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fine Art | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Unlike the cheaper version of cubase, you do not have a track limit. I often need more than the Artist version of cubase allows, so I find myself going back to logic time and time again.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The program itself uses quite a bit of RAM vs Cubase. I wish it was a more lightweight program itself so I can take advantage of the available RAM for my virtual instruments.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Check out trials of different applications; eg. Cubase, ProTools, FLStudio, Reactor, Logic, etc.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to work fast. I can setup several KONTAKT instruments incredibly fast, which means I can get to work faster without fiddling around in the application.

  ### 31. In Love With Logic Pro X

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I like playing around the plugins in the Daw, it's much easier for me to mix and master, and the interface is sample and easy to work.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I don't like when sometimes pops up show up and gets my Imac overload but have 16GB RAm in it.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Buy the software and enjoy one of the most profissional Daw.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get my self involved in the software, i feel good with my mixes results, and the most important is that it gives me a good thick sound.

  ### 32. Better than Pro Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Winford M. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Ease of use and endless professional capabilities: advanced presets for plug-ins, endless patched, loops, & sounds, and easily recognizable by any USB/FIREWIRE interface.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The custom sound capabilities from outside developers without loading expensive software is at a minimum. For example, there are a ton of custom sound imports for mainstage, but they don't translate well to Logic nor are there very many options for logic to have custom sounds with the available patches.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Purchase it! It's amazing! Literally better than Pro Tools

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a business, it's not ideal to buy software like Logic because if someone uses the company card to purchase this item but puts it in their name and personal email, the company loses the product (this happened at the current company I work for). I think an option for a business should be available: maybe spend more money on unlimited license use.

  ### 33. Using Logic Pro X to create music in a professional setting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The layout is the the best aspect for sure. When I switched over to the software I was surprised by how easy it was to understand for a beginner and I caught on very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I do wish there was an easier way to select the audio inputs and outputs for tracks without having to go into the settings of the program. Perhaps a toolbox or a shortcut on the mixer would make this more convenient.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

For the ease of use and the price tag alone, if you have a Mac would definitely recommend.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Logic Pro I have been able to save more recording time to one file, and increase my range of processing effects and editing capabilities

  ### 34. Logic Pro X

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I like the user interface since it makes it easy for beginners to use without compromising usability for professional projects.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I don’t like how some of the more advanced tools are hidden away and are sometimes tricky to use effectively.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Make sure you save regularly just in case it crashes

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Logic Pro x to demo new songs and to compose more extensive projects before going into the studio.

  ### 35. Logic Pro X is for the Pros

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth M. | Beth McPherson, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X allows users to easily edit audio recordings and record audio from scratch, as well as create MIDI tracks. It is much more user friendly than most digital audio workstations, and does not have as much of a learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The MIDI samples in Logic Pro X are not of the best quality and most do not sound very realistic. However, many digital audio workstations do not come with any MIDI samples and require an outside sample library. It is recommended that users purchase a higher quality third party sample library if they will be using MIDI frequently, but for those who will not use it much, this should not be necessary.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

This is an excellent digital audio workstation that is much easier to use and provides many more functions than other competing digital audio workstations. It is worth the price.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro X allows studios to quickly edit tracks and means that songs can be mixed and mastered much more quickly than in other digital audio workstations. Users will finish their projects much more quickly than if they used another digital audio workstation.

  ### 36. Versatile, easy to use software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick S. | Video Editor, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro sports a clean, attractive, and highly organized interface. The software is intuitive, and things generally behave in the manner a musician might expect. Drag and drop makes things easy, your media keeps itself organized with almost no effort, and each update adds truly helpful and useful features.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Sometimes the software updates change things unnecessarily - though not nearly to the level some other projects do

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

For the modern-day composer, Logic Pro X should be an essential part of your toolkit.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because Apple has acquired and included new plugins and products — notably Alchemy - hundreds of dollars have been saved on additional third party plugins. That’s good for the bottom line.

  ### 37. Easily the most intuitive DAW

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alec H. | Musician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic, like most Apple software, is extremely intuitive. You’ll spend much more time creating and much less time looking up tutorials or reading the manual.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

There are occasionally some pretty bad bugs. The worst of these is an extremely loud burst of white noise that lasts less than a second. This has happened at least 2 times while mixing in the last few years, and it seems to happen when you overload the disk or CPU. Generally this isn’t a problem, but it’s something to know about.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro X has easily managed files, so sharing a project with a colleague is extremely easy. This makes collaboration accessible.

  ### 38. An Excellent DAW with Flexible Workflows for a Variety of Genres

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I love the versatility of Logic Pro X! I think it is well balanced when it comes to composing music "in the box" as well as recording. VSTs are easily to integrate and, in my opinion, the UI is very intuitive!

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Honestly, there's not a lot I dislike about Logic Pro X. Sometimes the use of Flex Time can get a little finicky.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

I think Logic is a tremendous tool for those looking for a balanced DAW that feels just as intuitive for live recording as composing "in the box".

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Logic Pro to record voiceovers, write music for video and social, as well as compose songs for commercial release. It allows me to quickly create quality audio!

  ### 39. It’s an easy to use digital audio workspace.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

While being extremely user friendly, this digital audio workspace still has everything you need for professional quality recording.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The amount of space it takes up on the hard drive.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Use the help button, ask questions, and be as creative as you can!

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven’t had a single problem with Logic. I have the benefit of making professional music right at home.

  ### 40. Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I love how easy it is to use. Thre layout of the DAW is really nice and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Sometimes when using the software, it can be limiting. I wish I could move things around the DAW.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Jump into it! It may be over whelming at first.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only problems I have are due to my own knowledge. It's I great software.

  ### 41. Logic Pro X actually makes sense!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Desiree J. | Desiree Jean, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Where should I start? There are so many wonderful aspects to Logic Pro X! We use MIDI effect plug-ins for the keyboard instruments we use to record commercials at work! I like how Logic Pro X lets me work with plug-in settings, stored within the project file. They are automatically recalled the next time the project is opened! I like how I can work with channel strip settings, files specific to each channel strip types.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

There's not much to dislike, although I actually dislike the limited distribution of Logic Pro X. Since macOS can only be run on Apple hardware, we cannot use Logic Pro X on our more advanced PCs. This means that we have to settle for less power, meaning we have to use busses to route our music channels, rather than copying and pasting tracks. And even so, our CPUs clock-out, which stinks, because we have advanced hardware that we aren't allowed to use with this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

When using Logic Pro X, I recommend to read the Logic Pro X manual. It is free on the iBooks store, and you can even read it on your iPad.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Logic Pro X, we are creating commercials for our business! With Pro Tools, we were not able to use MIDI functions as well. With Digital Performer, we were able to use MIDI functions, but DP had too much of a classical-oriented mindset. Logic combines both worlds in the perfect software that meets our music-production needs for our commercials. And Logic Pro X is only $199, while DP and Pro Tools are 3 to 4 times the cost. So we are saving money too!

  ### 42. Everything you need in a DAW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I'm a mac user, always have been, so naturally this is what I started with back in the day (Logic 7). Easy to use once you "get it".

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

There's definitely a learning curve to this software. Not the MOST intuitive but not bad.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you are a mac user- use it over Ableton, it's much more intuitive. Can't speak highly about mainstage (live music software integration).

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not needing as many AU plug ins. Logic comes packed with pretty useful plug ins now.

  ### 43. Logic Pro Does the Job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Ease of use with a clean interface. I also love the way it syncs with media on my Apple computer. The integration of photos and music safes me time. It is very intuitive the way it is laid out. It is also very cheap considering all that it can do. There are not many software editors that are better. This is the gold standard of professional audio editing software. If it is good enough for Hollywood movies - it will be good enough for your project.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

Setting up routing on the channels for effects, inserts, etc seemed needlessly complicated. Also, media management is not as simple as it could be. When working with multiple drives, it gets confusing. Trying to find where the raw files are located is harder than it should be. Whenever editing audio there is always a lot of hard drive space needed.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

You can not beat the price for this product. It does almost all the things that much more expensive sound editing programs can do. It has a very clean layout and is easy to understand without digging into the manual.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro is a great music/audio editor. You can not beat the price on this software considering all that it does. It is a simple solution for editing all of your audio. This program, combined with Final Cut Pro will give you great sounding and looking videos.

  ### 44. A superior audio workstation for advanced sound editing and music production

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex K. | Media Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I like the vast amount of controls and effects panels that come standard with the Logic install. I also like that I can add countless plugins that can help me to fine tune the sound I'm trying to create. When we need background music for business videos, I can use many of the available loops to layer together a quick and effective track that can suit just about any video. Logic works very smoothly on my Mac and can generate WAV and MP3 files relatively fast.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

The price for Logic Pro X is rather high compared to some other similar music software. Also, I don't like I can only use Logic on my Mac. There are times when I'd prefer to use my Windows PC or be able to transfer my projects over to a Windows-compatible program. The learning curve for using Logic can be quite high. It too me over three months just to get a hang of the basic controls. I don't think there are enough useful presets available.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

If you are new to sound editing, you may want to try out Apple's GarageBand first. The user interface and control are similar to Logic and the price is much less. Once you get a hang of the over functionality, you can upgrade to Logic Pro X if needed.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Logic Pro X to create background music for business videos and social media clips. I also use it to clean up general audio. The mastering tools in Logic allow me to remove excessive background noise and boost the overall sound quality with more robust speaking voices. Logic's chain settings allow me to set up specific effects in a certain order so that I can apply them later to similar sound tracks. That has really helped to save time with processing new tracks.

  ### 45. Far exceeds the capabilities of its competitors (Pro Tools, Ableton Etc)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic is and has always been superior to Pro Tools, the other industry standard, when it comes to MIDI sequencing with virtual instruments. The workflow is far easier; piano roll is a breeze to use. Even the native virtual instruments such as the EXS24 synthesizer are excellent, though I prefer third party plugins for my work.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

This is truly a difficult one. I think if I had to split hairs I would have to aim my criticism at the resource intensive nature of the software. Compared to most other DAWs, Logic requires quite a bit of free RAM to operate smoothly, and I have had a handful of devastating crashes where all of my work had been lost because I was running too many other programs at once.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic makes it possible to implement the music I imagine into the music that I present to my clients when scoring for film. Rather than having a separate software for composition and for production, I can do it all in one without making any compromises.

  ### 46. Amazing Sound Engineering System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne C. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

I love the ease of use that Logic has adapted to and updated throughout the years. Logic is the first Audio Engineering software learned to mix on. I love the midi channels that are built into the system to use as well.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I think there could be a better way to edit video audio files like in ProTools.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Definitely a great product to get started on and use professionally.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic Pro X solves the problem of engineering for beginners. Simple to use, but sophisticated enough to get great sounds.

  ### 47. Intuitive but you still need some training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Malia Jade R. | Author, Music Theory Staff Paper™, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

That I was able to get started producing music right away

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

I still can't figure out how to use plug ins, and sound design is complicated

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Make sure you watch lots of video tutorials

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to produce high quality tracks and have a better chance of my music being used for tv and film.

  ### 48. It is simple to use and operate.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

The plugins available to create different tones are very accurate and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

It can be a pain when layering audio due to some complexity.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

It is not as complicated as it seems.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes recording so much easier than analog magnetic tape.

  ### 49. Commercial Soundtrack Composer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael N. | Composer, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X is everything I need as a professional soundtrack composer.
It's the absolute best DAW I have worked with, and is very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

There is a major issue with GPU use. Even with a high-end mac with over 12 GB of RAM, you will experience overloads quite often on larger projects. This isn't the end of the world, but it definitely slows down your workflow in a very negative way. If this problem were fixed, I would consider it a flawless DAW.

**Recommendations to others considering Logic Pro X:**

Expect the GPU overload issue to put a slight hindrance on your workflow, if you plan on having projects with over 25 instruments and or/audio tracks.

Other than that, Logic is a phenomenal DAW. I'd highly recommend switching to it. You don't even need tutorials. It's incredibly easy to pick up.

**What problems is Logic Pro X solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logic allows me to compose and produce triple-A, fully orchestral film and video soundtracks in a timely, cost-effective manner. I've never had a client be disappointed with my work in the DAW. Most people cannot tell the difference between my work, and something recorded in a large studio with a live orchestra.

  ### 50. Comprehensive review of Logic Pro X.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Logic Pro X?**

Logic Pro X has pros and cons. In my opinion, the pros make up for all the cons. Logic Pro is a powerful DAW, used by music producers, film composers, freelance producers, audio engineers, podcasters: The list really goes on. During my five year experience in music production, I can confidently say that up to now, Logic Pro has been the most comprehensive, efficient and powerful DAW I have used. After switching from FL Studio as my main daw for all production work, I realized logic pro has a lot more to offer me. My workflow in logic continues to improve every time I use it.
Logic Pro is great for all levels of skill, from beginners to veterans. Apple gives its computer users an exclusive software only available in Mac OS. The software can do anything you think of. Tracking vocals is made easy and efficient. Live tracking and plugin integration is flawless. Low latency in the software and very responsive. The list of things I enjoy about this software is infinite. Logic pro has had a solid reputation for its most recent software updates. Its a software that has been made with care and the producer in mind. Developers of this software have really thought of how to make this tool as comfortable and useful as possible. Everything you need to do anything audio related can be done in this software.

The two things I like best in this software follow.
1 - The number of quality stock plugins, filter patches, virtual instruments, and sounds is more than satisfactory. As a professional producer and engineer, I use stock tools very often while using this software. Its a gift that keeps on giving and every sound can be tweaked to your liking.
2 - Logic pro is a very fluid and straightforward software. The more you use it and the more you adapt, the quicker your workflow will be. Keyboard shortcuts are essential in an impressive workflow for this software. Take the time to learn more about your software and all of its functions and tools.

**What do you dislike about Logic Pro X?**

As stated, this program does come with its disappointments and cons. To my surprise, the software lacks some of the most basic functions present in other software. For example, placing drums with stock plugins can be very painful. Drums can be done by placing samples directly on the arranger and mixing from there, or with the stock plugin named "DrumSynth". Although the plugin DrumSynth can execute with patience and concentration, It is not at easy and inspiring as it should be. I have been forced to use other drum plugins as a result of my terrible experience with DrumSynth. Its just boring, ugly, and in reality should be better.
Making an effective and integrated drum machine is very important to software, especially now that most pop music utilized synthesized or sampled drums. In this case, if someone working primarily on hip-hop beats and electronic drums were to ask me to recommend a software, I would not recommend logic pro: Due to its lack of stock capabilities to make drum arrangements easier and painless.
