## LibreNMS Reviews
  ### 1. Easy SNMP & ICMP Monitoring for Network and Security Devices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jitendra Kumar P. | Team Lead Cyber Security, Utilities, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2026

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

Easy monitoring of network and security devices using SNMP traps and ICMP echo request/reply patterns. We are monitoring around 1200 devices (including Firewall, WAF, DDoS, Router, Switch and DDI) and effectively monitoring and generating auto-report for all the production traffics to reduce downtime.

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

In my experience, MongoDB as used in LibreNMS isn’t very scalable for retaining large volumes of logs over long periods of time.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We monitor all of our network and security devices here to improve visibility, automate incident management, and keep a close eye on alerts. By using SNMP traps and ICMP responses, we also track device syslog and system logs in a centralized location for easier monitoring and follow-up.

  ### 2. Lightweight and Scalable, but Auto-Updates and Docs Need More Control

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

It's a lightweight tool. As long as your devices support SNMP, LibreNMS will work. It's also very scalable.

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

Auto-update is baked into the software; you have little to no control over when updates are applied.
LibreNMS's documentation isn't always up to date with the current feature-set.
Some device's SNMP support is very lacking.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Constant device monitoring and alerting ensures we always know when issues arise within our network. There are many notification integrations to choose from to ensure no matter the failure upstream of LibreNMS, we always receive our alert notifications.

  ### 3. The best open-source monitor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edwin F. | Jefe de redes y ciberseguridad, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

It is easy to use, has many integrations that can be exploited, it is not at all complicated to integrate, the usability is very simple, and it is not complicated to understand.

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

the little support that exists in Spanish and that it is not easy to solve problems independently

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was not aware of the historical behavior of my servers and network services. Since I integrated LibreNMS, it allows me to monitor disk space, processing, network abnormalities at odd hours, VPN health, and many other things.

  ### 4. LibreNMS Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

Network device monitoring
Server monitoring
Power monitoring
Temperature sensor monitoring
Access Point Monitoring
Data Center Status Monitoring
Uptime and Downtime Monitoring

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

Not having a desktop app for Mac/Windows to get reports live, instead need to rely on the browser.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping monitor whole organizations' Infrastructure and Data Centers in live.

  ### 5. Great open source network monitoring tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo Juan H. | IoT Expert - AI Integrator, Consulting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

LibreNMS offers all the features you can find on any commercial network monitoring system.
It's open-source, free to use, and a very active project with constant updates.
Also, it's easy to install if you use the containerized solution.

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

I can consume a lot of resources, especially CPU. So reserve the right amount of resources according to the size of your network (number of devices).
I you use the containerized implementation, you will not have problems with upgrades. But if you are installing the software directly on your SO, you may experiment issues.
So, make a backup before upgrading it.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using LibreNMS to monitor 1400 network devices, servers, and UPS.
It's very useful for monitoring device availability, link performance, device issues, and so on.

  ### 6. Easiest network management system you will ever implement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan S. | Network Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

LibreNMS comes ready to work out of the box with many different vendors, Whether Cisco, HP, Juniper, or any other brand it's likely supported. It is full of features you may never need for any device and can be integrated with tons of plugins to help with configuration management and weather mapping. Did I mention it's open source, heavily documented, and supports a variety of installation methods?

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

It can be challenging to implement different plugins due to not having a lot of documentation or guides, which means you need to be technical to get some features out of it. I wish they had an all-in-one installation package that included all the necessary pre-requisites ready to go, such as a database.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can quickly get information from multiple devices you would generally need to implement with a template. For example, in Zabbix, I would need to make a template to grab power statistics for a Netonix switch which, with Librenms, I only need to add in the device to be monitored. We also get alerts about UPS that we have set up through routers now easy to know when a building is on battery and have time to run to the site before running out of power.

  ### 7. Very nice open source Monitoring tools

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro G. | System Engineer Supervisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreNMS?**

What I like about Librenms is that I can add any device ( I have not found one that did not work) to its SNMP puller and get device information very easily. I can also add ssh and telnet information to Librenms to login into the network or server equipment

**What do you dislike about LibreNMS?**

Like all open-source programs, if there is a major issue and you are not that strong in Linux, it can be hard fixing things. But there is a community for Librenms and so far it has not been an issue getting question answer or points you to the right direction

**Recommendations to others considering LibreNMS:**

If you are looking for Network monitoring tools that LibreNMS can help with that. If you are starting in Linux and need to improve your skill, LibreNMS can help with that. LibreNMS has many tools that I don't use, and it is applied to network devices, computers, servers.

**What problems is LibreNMS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What i solve with Librenms is the following :
 1. Getting CPU of network or server
2. Bandwidth graph of network or server
3. Alerts to email, Slack, and Opsgeinie
4. The ability to ssh to device and servers
5. It one system instead of multiple systems.
