But sometimes it's not opening where I've left it and it would be great if they provide some good performance improvements. **What problems is Kate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kate is very helpful in simple and lightweight text editing. Kate gives a very nice user interface for finding and replacing features. I use kate for my small tasks like creating coding files, saving text notes etc. ### 2. It is a good text editor for writing small programs as it's a light weighted text editor. ### 3. It has all the language and is compatible with almost all the plateforms. Right from indentation, aligning and color code for code is on the spot. **What do you dislike about Kate?** It is not detecting the language automatically, and it should also suggest autocompleting for the pre-defined keywords of the language. If it is not seeing the language, then you have to align the tabs for the code manually. **What problems is Kate solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a software developer, and I have to code a lot. Since I am using kate, I have not switched to any other editor. I use PHP, JavaSCRIPT, jQuery, and CSS for web development, and this editor is my best tool. This is the ultimate text editor for Linux, and it is also available for Windows and macOS. It supports multiple tabs, We can also change the keyboard shortcuts for our needs. The bookmark option is very useful when I have to remember a particular line from a large text, I can just use Ctrl+B to bookmark a line, and I will be able to see it after on the bookmark menu. I also like the split window option which makes it easier to work with large text files, I will be able to see the first and last line on the same screen. We can also customize Kate Editor for our needs, there are lots of options for changing the fonts and background of the editor. In the plugin area, I tried some plugins and they all work fine. **What do you dislike about Kate?** I can't say that I dislike anything, because all the tools are very helpful and they all work fine, never had any glitches or performance issues. **Recommendations to others considering Kate:** If you try using kate for editing or making text files, you will be able to do that across all Operating systems, you can install it on Windows, Linux, and macOS. and it got plenty of tolls and feature that you can use it to make your work easier. **What problems is Kate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Editing large files is very easier with Kate editor, its tools, like split window and bookmark, make it easier to take notes. and the multiple tabs feature makes it easier to take multiple notes at a time. ### 7. Its installation is very easy, and it has lots of other selecting tools available, we can find tons of other tools in Configure Menu. **What do you dislike about Kate?** It's a feature-rich text editor, and because of that, there are lots of tools, which take time to understand for some people. other than that there are no other issues. **Recommendations to others considering Kate:** I actually used Kate on Windows and Ubuntu and it's also available for macOS, so you can install it on any of your computers. It gets the job done without any problem, what i like most about this tool is the support of plugins, the bookmarks, the tweaks options and how we can split the window to work better. Definetely the best feature it's by far the syntax highlighting for almost every programming lenguages. **What do you dislike about Kate?** When you're coding you can't deny that it's a good tool, but with a little of improvement it could make easier get the job done. For example, we need more shortcuts to avoid stoppings during work, also would be nice more customization options. As you can see, the dislike points isn't about errors or that the tool doesn't work well, are simply suggestions that can make better the software. **Recommendations to others considering Kate:** If you're like me and like to try different softwares or you have to work trough different distros, you should give it a try to KATE, it's a good text editor and as a code editor it's a excellent option, fast a lighweight. I'll never get tired of resalt it's syntax highlighting, it's so good. **What problems is Kate solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like to try different text editors, Kate it's a good option, i like to work over differents distros and in all of them, i always install Kate because it's easy to use, lightweight, and the syntax highlighting its really helpful. ### 10.
