"The time flexibility is amazing."

What do you like best about italki?

1) I can arrange my own schedule which is great.

2) I can choose any teacher I want.

3) The customization of the profile is very good and allows me to fill in a lot of data.

4) The video quality and fluency is pretty good.

5) It also includes a group or individual chat so you can have a VIP chat with the teacher.

What do you dislike about italki?

1) Due to supply and demand the teachers have a limit of students in order not to monopolize the whole market.

2) Every time you reach a certain amount of lessons the system gives you a gift card as a reward, the bad thing is that you have to spend it in less than a month.

"The experience with italki has been amazing"

What do you like best about italki?

As a tutor I love that in Italki I can set my own prices in my profile, the flexibility it gives teachers and tutors to feel completely autonomous of their work is amazing. It is really easy to use the application, it is not complex to create your own profile, it only takes a matter of minutes and then set the time you want to spend on it. The communication that allows you to communicate with users is of high quality in both video calls and chats, one of the best apps for those interested in learning languages. What do you dislike about italki?

Something that I do not find pleasant about Italki is that to control the supply and demand within the application allows a limited number of teachers per student, which every year makes it more difficult to belong to the application and those who are already inside, generate income.

The application has gift cards redeemable within the same for a certain number of lessons, but do not specify that these have an expiration date for less than a month, they should add that information to the card in addition to making it more its expiration date. Using the search filters in Italki can help you find teachers that you would not find by browsing the application on your own. Besides, if you are looking for a teacher with certain characteristics you can do it easily and save a lot of time with the filters.

Do not choose a teacher without first doing a complete investigation on all the profile data because while the application allows teachers with good intentions to teach anyone, unfortunately it also opens the door to people who do not have the best intentions to contribute to the community, so make sure that the person you are going to pay is completely professional in what he does is important. What problems is italki solving and how is that benefiting you?

Italki has worked for me to be able to give lessons to many people around the world, since apart from having my own tutor account I also receive lessons as a student of other languages to expand my vocabulary and to be able to give lessons in the future to more people. I have had a pleasant experience from both positions. As a tutor everything has been excellent, I have found enthusiastic students who follow to the letter each of my lessons and are improving, and as a student I have always found friendly teachers who are very professional in their area. What do you like best about italki?

What I like most about italki is the ease and convenience of being able to choose your own teacher depending on your taste, plus each teacher has published their price which makes it even more accessible, another thing I like is that you can schedule classes on the days and times that you want or that makes you more comfortable since the classes are live. I have no negative points to criticize, this really helped me a lot in my professional development, but if there are things that are sometimes annoying, it's that the teachers sometimes take a long time to teach or respond, or that you have to adapt to the teacher's schedule, when most of them are the ones that suit you best. "It probably depends on the language one's learning"

What do you like best about italki?

I've been on Italki since April 2016, trying to find help learning Punjabi (Gurmukhi). I haven't had much luck: A few teachers have contacted me over the years but I didn't feel that they were qualified to teach (I used to teach French myself, years ago). The platform is well conceived and I'm sure that my experience would have been vastly different if I had try to learn a more common language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
