"Essential Platform with Stellar Support, Steep Learning Curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

I really appreciate the Worldwide Response Center (WRC) provided by InterSystems IRIS. Their support team is incredibly responsive and knowledgeable, answering every question with great expertise. It feels like having an extension of our own team. The WRC is a game changer, especially in sectors like finance and automotive where downtime isn't an option. I value that we can set the priority of the ticket and, in crisis situations, they provide immediate access to engineers who truly solve the problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

The learning curve can be steep, especially for newer features or complex cloud configurations. While the documentation is extensive, it can sometimes be difficult to find specific examples for advanced scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"IRIS: An Outstanding All-in-One Toolbox"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

InterSystems products, in general, are outstanding, but IRIS has something extra. What I like most is that IRIS feels like a toolbox that brings together the main InterSystems products, such as Caché and Ensemble, all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

Overall, the system is great. The only downside I’ve noticed, as a software developer, is the lack of online tutorials and discussions that cover the development process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Data Management with InterSystems IRIS"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

Honestly, what I like most is how simple it makes working with data. I don't have to think too much about whether it's SQL or NoSQL, it just works. It's quick, reliable, and doesn't slow me down when I'm handling real-time stuff. I also love that it connects so easily with other systems, saves a lot of headache when you are trying to get everything talking to each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

If I had to point out something, I'd say getting started can feel a but tricky at first. There's a lot of power in the platform, but it means you spend some time learning your way around. The look and feel of the interface could also be a but more modern. Nothing that's a dealbreaker, but those are the small things that stand out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The easy integration of AI into IRIS greatly facilitates daily work. Another important point is the recurring updates released on the platform, which help keep everything constantly evolving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

The learning process is a bit time-consuming and it may take some time until I feel completely comfortable with the use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust and High-Performance ERP Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

I like that InterSystems IRIS is particularly well-suited for ERP applications requiring reliability, performance, and data consistency. The platform's flexibility facilitates integrations, especially with nginx as a web server and HAProxy as a reverse proxy. Additionally, the initial setup is easy, and the product's security hardening is facilitated by the online documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bridging Systems with InterSystems IRIS"
4/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

What I really like about InterSystems IRIS is how fast and reliable it is. It can handle huge amounts of data and transactions without slowing down. I also love that it’s flexible; you can use SQL, NoSQL, object storage, or even work directly with its unique “globals” all in the same system. The built-in tools for connecting different systems (like HL7 and FHIR in healthcare) are a big win, and having analytics built right in means you can get insights from your data without a lot of extra work. As a developer, I appreciate that I can use different programming languages, ObjectScript, Python, or Java or even mix them depending on what the job needs. And above all, it’s dependable, which is essential for systems that can’t afford downtime.

It is very simple to use and administratively friendly.

The customer support is great often responded within a day.

Based on my frequency of use, it is very reliable and developer-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

The main challenge with IRIS is that it takes some time to learn, especially if you’ve never worked with ObjectScript or globals before. Some of the older tools for managing and developing on it feel a bit outdated compared to newer software environments. The licensing can be a bit complicated and may be pricey for smaller projects or startups. The community is helpful but smaller than big open-source platforms, so finding certain answers can take longer. And while the documentation covers a lot, some advanced features could use simpler, real-world examples to make them easier to pick up.

The ease of implementation and Documentation for certain integration scenarios can be complex for beginners Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best"

What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

the practicality of coding, in addition to the integration with different parts of the system with their different purposes, which interconnect in a beautiful way. In a general perspective, the plataform UI is good and easy to understand. Although, sometimes, when there's a need to search for a feature, it's hidden very deep. Fortunately, it is been fixed with the new AI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

Unfortunately, Studio is not updated to the present day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very powerful, flexible database and application system with a fair learning curve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

The flexibility of access via multi modal data access, globals, object, SQL, JSON, XML, REST, vectors and other approaches mean you can use the system to back end many different projects. Equally you can use all the different routes and technologies to access one back end so there is no need to duplicate data elsewhere, or store data in multiple formats for quick or easy retrieval. Uptime and reliability are top notch, real time system mirroring and HA functionality is bomb proof. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

Iris documentation for admin / developers isn't the best. They are working on it, but there is still a large learning curve to getting into development. It's worth it as it's a very powerful solution, but still. It's not a well known solution so IT decision makers need a lot of persuading to take it on board, despite its huge presence in healthcare / finance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast Database Integration for Massive Data Warehouses"
5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

The database performs exceptionally well when it comes to recording processes. We integrate it with other companies to supply data warehouses, and the speed remains impressive, even when handling millions of records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

The interface for building BPL is rather lacking, and adding specific tools could significantly enhance productivity when developing solutions with BPL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"InterSystems IRIS: Powerful, but with barriers to adoption and learning"
4.5/5
What do you like best about InterSystems IRIS?

I really like the various functions when doing the SELECT, I think it's great how the SELECTS work in the cache, so that when you make a query, the next query is much faster. I also like having an interface for creating namespaces and dealing with various things in IRIS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about InterSystems IRIS?

I don't like that knowledge about IRIS is so little disseminated; there is a lack of community, so there are problems for which we can easily find answers on the internet, and the IRIS documentation is quite poor compared to other technologies like Laravel, for example, which provides various examples and ways to use it. The IntelliSense also doesn't work very well because it doesn't give suggestions on what to use and explanatory suggestions on how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
