**Reviewed by:** Luis Ernesto S. | Cientifico de Datos, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2019

**What do you like best about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

Personally, I think that for a new user, it is a friendly way to work in a first phase with a treatment of certain information and then seek utility through the different statistical algorithms.

**What do you dislike about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

I think that if you were using SSPS Statistics instead in the way of working from code to configurable addresses which is not necessarily bad, it could be a paradigm change that is difficult to overcome.

Another issue may be some very hidden configurations within the nodes.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM SPSS Modeler:**

Evaluate all the options of this type of products in the market, the specific need can be covered in many ways, it is better to first define your need and then rely on analytical tools that are not and do everything.

**Reviewed by:** Marcos Dafrán B. | Senior Specialist Data Insight Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

Modeler is great when yu have multiple problems that can be resolved with analytics. You can use it to modify data in order to be in good condition for modeling and also it have a significant ammount of techniques that you can apply. Also, you can integrate Modeler with R project and with Phyton, wich is great to give it more functions.
One great advantage of modeler is the easy of automatization of process.

**What do you dislike about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

Modeler lacks of important statistical tests, like normality, randomness, etc. This is not good when you are making regressions and need to test the assumtions about the errors.
Other thing that migth be a need to improve is the lack of techniques to analyze unestructured data like images or videos.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM SPSS Modeler:**

Offer more alternatives to the users that used entity analytics and social network analytics.

**What problems is IBM SPSS Modeler solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are cleaning our data with modeler, and making a lot of reports about our main kpis. Also we are making simple assosiation modeles to know what to offer to our clients.
The greatest benefits we have realized are the automatization of proceses. With the streams there is very easy to get results in no time. Also we are integrating our Modeler with CAD Services and Cognos in order to execute the proceses in a regular base and to make reports for the managers.

  ### 49. Antiquated and clunky

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

Not much, Modeler did all the things you could do just leveraging a script-language like R or Python. It even has "nodes" for those languages. I guess it's slightly easier to share assets created in this enviorn w/ non-technical folks?

**What do you dislike about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

Modeler is a very "space-heavy" program. The client is at least several hundred megs, and it doesn't seem to run well on decently powered laptop systems. Definitely much more heavy footprint than a standard Python or R client.

**Recommendations to others considering IBM SPSS Modeler:**

I believe this has moved entirely to the cloud w/ Watson cloud. The local-install client should probably be totally retired.

**What problems is IBM SPSS Modeler solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standard predicative data science problems. Mostly building either scoring or prediction engines.

  ### 50. Awesome tool for quick data design

Importing and exporting data to other formats/applications

**What do you dislike about IBM SPSS Modeler?**

It is not free and seams not quite used by smaller companies and individuals

**What problems is IBM SPSS Modeler solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aggregating data from different analytical tools to produce single analyses
