What do you like best about IBM AIX?

As I am an AIX user since 2012, a most favourite feature of AIX for me is that most of the things can be done online without downtime. Like UPGRADE & Migration of OS Level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM AIX?

Like Linux, a bit late in terms of various open-source tools to make it interactive and stand with other flavors of Linux. For example, DevOps tools are coming into the picture but so late. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM AIX solving and how is that benefiting you?

If you plan to run critical applications like ERP solutions with powerful performance and minimal downtime, my first choice is always IBM AIX. Mainly you will see the actual performance during peak business hours, apart from this various feature like DLPAR, AMS, etc., which make AIX my first choice. What do you like best about IBM AIX?

I have been using AIX since last 12 years in our production and non production environment. Its highly secure, scalable and easy to use plateform. We have 10+ AIX VM images and used with combination of FileNet and Websphare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IBM AIX?

+ Stable and reliable. Practically no need restart or downtime unless you do major patch or upgrade

+ Soft partitioning can run different version (they call it LPAR)

+ Secure, as UNIX is not a community like Linux Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM AIX?

- used for core system in Banking, Telco that have very high throughput. Other than that, what else?

- mostly running also IBM DB2. But other databases slowly abandon this OS
