What do you like best about ibi WebFOCUS?

Information Builders WebFOCUS is the best (BI) Software I've ever used in my work. I like it the most because it got the most extensive collection of data connectors. It is effortless to use, and also, they work significantly faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"WebFocus can do it ALL , you just need to know How"

What do you like best about ibi WebFOCUS?

WebFocus is able to connect to all sorts of data be it mainframe, different DBMS , Unlike some others in the market which just handle front end tools like creating reports, and fancy charts etc.. WebFocus has all those features PLUS allows you to create virtual fields using its Define procedures, some of the data users’ needs is not always available in the tables, so WebFocus allows you to create that data, in addition to JOINS it allows you to MATCH files where JOIN will not do the trick Also IBI has very good support system and user community where you can find solutions. What do you dislike about ibi WebFOCUS?

Errors messages are not clear sometimes … you have to really check different areas to find out, oh this error was related to this issue. In Version 8.1.5 App Studio has issue which I hear are resolved in the 8.2 Versions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are looking for Flexibility in creating reporting and analytics Then WebFocus is the Tool to use, Companies implement ERP systems and try to use reporting out of the Box , in my experience they have to go to many hoops to create Reports that Users need , if they can create it.. What problems is ibi WebFOCUS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Instead of manually creating Access Lists we are using Restful Service and using our own security tables to determine user locations and internal applications they should have and create the access list. So when a user access is changed or a new user is added , Access list get automatically updated via nightly report caster job Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ibi WebFOCUS?

I only use the InfoAssist platform to develop reporting solutions for my department. The latest release allows me to provide information and visualize the information in ways I could only dream of before. What do you like best about ibi WebFOCUS?

The training and the amount of resources it has in its forums and the diversity of help material that can be found on the web is really massive, this speaks very well of the software and the great community around it. The ability to integrate with different important platforms in the market such as software such as SAP. Customer support is amazing, quick response to it that give you a friendly and professional treatment in every step of the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ibi WebFOCUS?

Composers can crash when working on them and it's not easy to modify a page once it is created. In addition to this, you cannot access the code behind it and there is still old control code after they have been removed from the page, this cause browsers to get confused and pages to get slow in terms of loading times. Some products are not entirely easy to understand and therefore I prefer not to use them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering ibi WebFOCUS:

There are different software for generating nice looking reports, one of the ones I can point out is Microsoft BI due to I use it for a long time before switching to WebFocus. Both software present a fairly modern and easy to understand interface, can export reports in excel spreadsheets without any problem, however WebFocus is able to keep data from years prior something that is very advantageous for analysis and external auditing, it also provides support to a variety of departments within your company which highlights its wide scalability. Our team has shown an significantly increase in productivity and performance, WebFocus has provided us with all the tools we need to fulfill our work in the most professional and responsible way possible, the management of data has been like never before as well as the creation of reports which is a task that happens so smooth in our daily basis. What do you like best about ibi WebFOCUS?

The portal/s will allow you tp house everything under one umbrella; even pointing non IBI products if needed (Excel etc)

App studio lets you access data from a variety of sources bringing it together into interactive reports and charts.

Create your own HTML pages / dashboards to guide users toward better understanding their business.

FML reporting yields custom reports...any metrics anywhere. Add row 3 column 5 to row 8 column 3...whatever you need. Drill downs too. One of our favorites!
