# What s involved in migrating from WebFocus 8.1.5M to Webfocus 8.2

Being a Administrator and Developer and in between (Support) , in  case we have to migrate to 8.2 from 8.1.5M , I would like to know what type of issues you encountered , problems  , time it to migrate .. Two years ago we migrated from WF 7.6.11 to WebFocus 8 , it took year and a half and several issues but now updating to 8.2 may not be that difficult but would like to know what was involved and time it took to migrate to 8.2

The upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2 will not be as difficult as a upgrade from 7.1 to 8.0. I'm sure that when you updated from 7 to 8 you had allot of Fex's that stopped working. That should not be the case with going from ver 8.1 to 8.2.
issues that you may run into are 1) possibility that MFD's may have to be regenerated and your security in place will have to be reestablished. Schedules may need to be regenerated, but all in all that upgrade should be pretty smooth. I'm available for consulting also. Thanks Brydie
