I like that the software is easy to use and learn. Only took me about 30min to get the hang of setting up my different projects and tracking process. Its easy to log time with the tracker or manually entering it in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish the invoice features were a little better designed. It's very limited in it's invoice features, which can just be improved. I also wished it didn't look so PC like-I use it on my macbook and it just reminds me of that feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows me to set up clients, base jobs and also sub-tasks as well as precisely track the time spent working on each merely by clicking "Begin" when I start work on a task and "Quit" when I'm done. I can start and quit as many times during the day as needed, stopping or switching jobs when I answer the phone, stopping for breaks, and so on. I can choose to report all time invested for a selected client, or just time spent on a job, or a global report that covers all time allocation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's very little to dislike. It took some figuring out how to stop it from switching on automatically when I started my computer and also how to stop it from automatically resuming a task after a break. Some users might appreciate that automation. I didn't! It's completely optional. It just took a little checking out to discover where to turn it off. Now I start, stop and select jobs myself and it takes just seconds at the start and end of each task to ensure an accurate record is created at the end of each period showing the number of sessions on each job, time spent, and cost (at hourly rates I input individually for each client or job). I'm normally hesitant to use software that runs constantly in the background, ever aware of conflict issues and the problems of insufficient memory, but I've experienced none at all with HourGuard. I can't really comment much on support as I honestly haven't needed any. I did see some negative comments on a forum from a user who didn't figure out how to turn off the automatic start feature, but honestly, it's easy to turn off and I'm sure NCH support staff would have responded. The interface is simple and easy to use. I can easily, with one click, start the timer to monitor the time for my multiple projects. I am doing research work, so I have multiple tasks like teaching, grading, proctoring, and finishing my research projects. For each part, I have to give equal importance.
