You never get assigned a dedicated technician even with paid premium support. We have been dealing with a DDOS issue for over a month without resolve. Very bad support. We have been a client for over 11 years and can't get a manager to address our issue. They used to be my go-to provider for VPS hosting, and I trusted them completely with my data. **What do you dislike about Hivelocity?** However, my recent experience has been disappointing. Last month, I set up a VPS but forgot to enable auto-pay. When I realized the system was down, I logged in only to find that my VPS had been canceled. I was just five days past the due date, and they automatically canceled and deleted the device. Even though I paid that same day, I was informed that the cancellation is automatic and irreversible. This experience has shaken my confidence in their ability to manage critical data. Then it dawned on me that with my Cisco background in networking and my passion for technology, I'd be better served building my server and colocating. After having used Hivelocity for a year or two as a dedicated customer and having extensive first-hand accounts of the lengths, they go through to ensure the most superior customer service, the choice for colocation was easy. I lived in Miami then, so I shipped my server; they handled the initial setup and bam, I was a server owner. 10+ years as a colocation customer, and I have to say, under the leadership of Steve E., Hivelocity's technical support and billing department interactions are by far the best in this industry and any other tech service touchpoints I've experienced. **What do you dislike about Hivelocity?** I got nothing; honestly, they are just stellar! With average ticket responses of around 15 minutes and near-instant chat replies, I couldn't ask for more. Their dedicated servers give you full control over the hardware installed per host, the operating system, and the full speed of bare metal without the virtualized overheads of full cloud services. The end result is better performance-per-thread for applications, and cheaper storage per TB than you can get on AWS. Of course, you have to do your own backups and redundancy, but Hivelocity offers load-balancing IP addresses for that. The user interface for managing the servers is good, and has gotten even better in the last few years. Now you can connect to the DRAC / IPMI with nothing but a web browser, from any workstation OS, without messing with a VPN. Their infrastructure has given us better uptime than any other over the past 5 years. ### 11. Even though our data center is in Tampa, we have never had an internet or electrical outlet that I can remember. **What do you dislike about Hivelocity?** Their techs need training, so we are better off outsourcing any support that we require for the servers. I would also encourage you to fact-check anything presented by the tech team as they simply are not the best. If you run into an issue, their support is also too arrogant to admit any error. Despite this, Hivelociy is probably the best choice in this post-customer service era. **What problems is Hivelocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hivelocity provides us with consistent, high-speed data access in a location that is beyond reliable. I ususally have an answer to my ticket in under 30 minutes and they stick with it, communicate and typically resolve the issue in less than an hour. Mixed feelings about support performance (some are really good, some aren't). The control panel is good and all servers have IPMI, which is a must. **What do you dislike about Hivelocity?** Some support members are not up to the task, which is key when you have something as critical as a dedicated server. The abuse team sometimes overreacts. **What problems is Hivelocity solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need dedicated servers for some cases and it is a very good company that has a very fast response.
