One of the most exciting ones is light/dark theme support through their design system. This totally changes the game, now our dark themed dashboards look really native and Highcharts plays a crucial role in it.

Further, there are some historical trends which we show which basically means we had to pass on huge chunks of data to Highcharts for visualisation. Before, sometimes the chart didn't use to load, but now it's seamless experience for our users.

Further our LLM based query analyser is now producing high quality charts powered by Highcharts again. The earlier experience was average but now its super impressive and an immersive experience. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** It's still a difficult question to answer but the way data visualisation has evolved lately, I believe having native high quality connectors to data sources would add massive value in Highcharts further adoption. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had a finance product and wanted to show lot of data points in a very intuitive way to our users. ### 2. The example library is very helpful. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** I've seen the improved Highstock charts library and the idea of switching to tradingview for some of our needs isn't so clear anymore. A plus from the Tradingview library is the share chart thing they have to create a community around. So some form of social networks integration would be useful. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have used highcharts for stock and bonds pricing (OHLC) and volume information. It supports a ton of different graphic options and is simple to use. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** Highcharts business model includes both open source and commercial offerings. When negotiating pricing for their commercial offering, we worked with our Sales person to come up with a reasonable price that we could leverage long-term. After several renewals at that price, a new Sales team member came back to us with revised pricing that took us from a support fee of 30% of what we initially paid for the license to a 91.3% support fee. After numerous interactions with the member of the Sales team and their Chief Sales Officer, they were unwilling to budge on our long-contracted terms. Rather than fighting it on a legal front, we opted to completely abandon the software. If you're using it for non-commercial purposes, by all means use Highcharts. But if you ever intend to commercialize the product using it, I'd recommend looking at something else, instead, for your data visualization requirements. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** Highcharts provided us with the ability to do data visualization in our product using graphics like pie charts, line charts and bar charts. ### 10. Some features seem not to be fully documented, requiring the use of other sources to fully understand how the implementation steps (e.g., annotate component). It also supports responsive design, which means you can define screens size specific configurations and Highcharts will take care of how it will look on different devices. It can be integrated with Angular thanks to its official highcharts-angular wrapper. Almost everything can be achieved on a chart, just need to find the right configuration from their API reference. It is fast and can render millions of datapoint. Last but not least it supports lots of extensions like extra chart type or helpers for easier exporting. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** Its API is really big so easy to get lost in details. We deal extensively with monthly data so we built an entire library on top of the existing highstock module. Those settings plus the events make it an incredibly flexible system. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** There aren't many upgrade guides out there, and help on very difficult issues is hard to find. You get codepens etc for ideal kind of scenarios, but not much content if you're going on a tangent in usage. The documentation for older versions goes away from their portal. This coupled with how hard it is to upgrade a highly customizable system leads to it becoming a legacy system (technical debt) fairly quickly. **Recommendations to others considering Highcharts:** Create a wrapper. Don't use highcharts methods directly. This helps isolate the usage and in upgrading. Use functions and custom parameters leading to highchart options .. instead of using highchart options throughout the platform. This might mean a bunch of repetition, but is still better than littering the platform with highchart options which'd be impossible to find when you upgrade. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** We deal with financial data, so to be able to view interactive charts is an essential part of our platform. Another major thing we use is the 'export' feature. We have a customized version of highcharts-exports.js script, which can render a chart to a png via command line. We needed several charts for a single report required by the user (30+ on average), which was a problem with both phantomjs command-line, AND the server, having to do it one by one. The open-sourceness of the script allowed us to modify it so now we can generate in batch with a single command line hit .. yielding great results. ### 41. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Highcharts?** Supports a diverse variety of charts (Stock Charts, Gnatt charts) and provides useful functionality by default (Export as Image/pdf/csv) out of the box. Provides consistent API across different charts and compatible chart types can be swapped easily. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** Network Topology charts are missing, and I had to go for some other library. **Recommendations to others considering Highcharts:** API documentation is good and consistent across different types of charts. Worth giving a try. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy to build dashboards using a diverse variety of charts. ### 47. Very easy and simple to configuration charts settings. Having a big community with the help. Also have a better documentation. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** Documentation is not simple. More research to find out the every setting. Using the different third party help mostly for the custom charts. **Recommendations to others considering Highcharts:** Mostly I recommend it to all types of colleagues. Because of simple and time less configuration. Having a lot of options and styles in this API. It's awesome for me and a recommendation to others. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are the following some benefits and solving examples as mentioned below. Solving problems: I have been using this graph API for more than 5 years. A lot of problems I have solved using this API. For example, a legend feature is a more powerful option in this API. Where you configure it and make more than one shape of the same graphs. Show all the legends or hide some legends to make a new look for the graphs. Benefits are the most powerful key is less time taking. Easy to install and configurable. You may say that it will work within minutes. ### 48. I just have to find it. There are very few situations where I need to do math own to alter the data so that I can get the results I want. There are so many different charts types available. People I work with keep wanting different ways to analyze the data that we have, and I'm thrilled that I can pretty much always find a solution in Highcharts so that I don't need to bring in any other libraries related to charting. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** The only downside that I can find is that sometimes it takes a bit of searching to find the exact piece of the config I need to change in order to get the outcome that I want. However, I think that this has something to do with the fact that there is just so much you can do in Highcharts. There are so many options because they've made it so flexible. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've worked at two companies that have used Highcharts to make complex data visualizations for quite large data sets. And, for this purpose, there's not really another library I'd want to use. I've been incredibly pleased with Highcharts over the past few years. ### 49. Great charting package! The paid support is great! I usually have answers to any of my questions the next morning! **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** There is nothing I dislike. There is a learning curve, but the doc and support are great, and I don't see how it would be possible to not have a learning curve, especially if someone didn't have experience with other charting packages. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** Comparing investment options (different stocks and bonds). Comparing current investments to its benchmark. I find that I use scatter charts the most, but also stock charts, and box charts. Charts can be lively and interactive, consuming and emitting events. ### 50. From my side, I had such a scenario where we had assigned a junior programmer to integrate this, and it was amazing having the exact expected output. So I must say it offers very easy integration with any application. Now let's go talking about the UI, Yet now I did not find any other library this one that could offer me a better visualization than it, maybe one thing is on my over 6 years of programming career I never felt highchart is not capable to sort me up that I need have in my projects. So I can tell this the best choice ever. Now let's talk about optimization, it's very light weighted and responsive that never let me feel, I should find another library instead of it. I just want to say It's a magic. **What do you dislike about Highcharts?** No point yet so far I found of disliking this. **Recommendations to others considering Highcharts:** I would say any level of programmer can use this and what we need is a complete package of graph solutions, any application with it makes the apps value. **What problems is Highcharts solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used it for almost every project, I mostly use it for dashboards, reports, and some are on the frontends.
