Greatmail Reviews & Product Details

Greatmail is a specialized email service provider (ESP) that has been delivering business-class email hosting solutions for over 20 years. Founded with a focus on reliability and simplicity, Greatmail serves small businesses, technical teams, and organizations that need professional email infrastructure without the complexity and cost of full productivity suites. Unlike major providers that bundle email with extensive collaboration tools, Greatmail concentrates exclusively on what businesses need most: dependable, secure email hosting with custom domain support. The company operates from a US-based infrastructure, providing direct phone support and maintaining a hands-on approach to customer service that larger providers often can't match. Greatmail's core offering centers around professional email hosting starting at $1.95 per mailbox with a 5-mailbox minimum, making it significantly more affordable than Google Workspace ($6/month per user) or other enterprise solutions. This pricing model reflects the company's understanding that many businesses simply need reliable email functionality without paying for unused features like document collaboration or video conferencing. The platform supports all standard email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP) ensuring compatibility with popular email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and mobile devices. Security is paramount, with comprehensive spam filtering, antivirus protection, and full support for modern email authentication protocols including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. These authentication methods are crucial for email deliverability and help ensure messages reach recipient inboxes reliably. Beyond basic email hosting, Greatmail offers specialized services including high-volume SMTP hosting for transactional emails and marketing campaigns, dedicated email servers for enterprise clients, and custom solutions for ISPs and application developers. The company also provides expert migration assistance, helping businesses transition from providers like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 with minimal downtime. Greatmail's client base spans technical communities, small businesses, and organizations worldwide, with GDPR compliance ensuring European clients can use the service confidently. The company has earned recognition as a featured provider at Hosting Advice and maintains a reputation for delivering cost-effective solutions backed by firsthand experience in email infrastructure. Greatmail's focused approach has allowed the company to maintain competitive pricing, provide personalized support, and build the specialized expertise that businesses rely on for their critical email communications.
