Earlier, we had to print out thick lab files or keep emailing messy ZIP folders to professors, which was a huge headache and things often got lost. Now, we just upload the PDFs or files directly here. Also, the rubric feature is a lifesaver. When the results come out, you can literally see the exact question or line of code where the professor deducted marks along with their specific comments. It's so much better than just getting a random number on a paper sheet. **What do you dislike about Gradescope?** The interface gets really sluggish and laggy on mobile browsers when you are trying to open heavy PDF scans of handwritten exam sheets. It also allows for grade alignments across the department to ensure grading uniformity and consistency within a discipline. **What do you dislike about Gradescope?** I'm still working to understand all that it does and has to offer, but at this time I thoroughly enjoy all the features within the program. **What problems is Gradescope solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows me to reduce grade inflation by using singular grading metrics, and saves me time on generic grading to generate meaningful feedback on more important assessments for students. Really cuts down on the traditional work time that’s associated with a large volume of grading. **What do you dislike about Gradescope?** Sometimes it can be a little finicky in the beginning, but the only incident I had was around the learning curve initially. It was not too difficult to figure out, but was a little bit of an adjustment to get used to using. **What problems is Gradescope solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem it solves for me grading wise is handling volume and cutting down on time to process multiple exams. ### 20. It’s also useful for communication regarding grades, helping me see any inconsistencies in grading and facilitating communication between me and the graders. The initial setup was straightforward because I just log in using my school's email. **What do you dislike about Gradescope?** The problem with the browser version on tablets is that the page arrangement is slippery. It is also irritating to navigate e.g., clicking back takes you to the homepage instead of the course page. Additionally, if i want to reupload, i can't do so for a single question but must reupload the entire homework. **What problems is Gradescope solving and how is that benefiting you?** Submitting homework, having all graded work in one place, grading homework much easier and much faster, assigning specific questions to people easier, dealing with regrade requests. I have only used it in STEM-oriented courses, and generally, it does its job with an intuitive design. **What do you dislike about Gradescope?** I'm not too fond of the fact that occasionally, I will upload my problem set, and it will not upload immediately.
