What I like best is the operational simplicity achieved through its managed service. GKE practically invented Kubernetes, and that expertise shows - the platform automates the maintenance, scaling, and patching of the control plane and underlying worker nodes. We leverage Autopilot mode heavily, which frees our developers from almost all infrastructure concerns, allowing them to focus purely on application code and deployment configuration. The main detractor is the perceived complexity and cost, particularly for smaller workloads. While GKE simplifies the infrastructure, the underlying Kubernetes concepts are still necessary, creating a steep learning curve for junior team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
