"Google Cloud SQL - Hassle-Free Setup, Strong Performance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Google Cloud SQL?

What I most enjoy about Google Cloud SQL is that it spares you from manually configuring backups, replication and patching of the databases. The system is offered as managed and also what's managed right is management, leaving time to not waste. LGC integrates neatly with other Google Cloud services like Compute Engine, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage allowing to build and scale apps faster. I also benefit from the strong security measures including transit encryption, data-at-rest encryption, and IAM-based access control that gives the peace of mind. The performance is reliable and scaling up to larger workloads is easy and trustful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Cloud SQL?

I suppose the biggest problem with Google Cloud SQL is pricing. For smaller projects or personal use, the price seems a little high relative to other choices. There’s also a learning curve when you start using Google Cloud, particularly if you don’t have much experience with console and config. The docs are thorough, but some simpler, worked examples are elusive and that can make things take longer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Management but Needs Better Auto-Scaling"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Google Cloud SQL?

I find Google Cloud SQL highly efficient for managing my relational database in the cloud, as it handles setup, backups, and maintenance automatically, saving me a lot of time compared to managing on-prem servers. Its fully managed nature and seamless integration with Google Cloud services are a huge advantage, making it highly scalable and high-performing. The setup process is very easy, reliable, and secure. Automated backups and replication improve reliability significantly. The integration with Google Kubernetes Engine allows my apps to securely connect to the SQL Cloud without needing manual database management, making it very convenient for my containerized applications. Google Cloud SQL's automation and reliability have instilled confidence in the database's performance and availability, critical for production needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Cloud SQL?

I find that using Google Cloud SQL can become expensive, particularly concerning storage and traffic rules. Additionally, there's limited control over certain configurations compared to self-hosted databases, which is a bit of a drawback. The connection latency can also vary depending on the region, which sometimes affects performance. Moreover, Google Cloud SQL does not support auto-scaling for PostgreSQL instances, and manual adjustments are required to accommodate changing workloads, making it tricky during sudden traffic spikes. "Seamless Integration and Cost-Effective Cloud SQL"
5/5
What do you like best about Google Cloud SQL?

I find Google Cloud SQL very easy to set up, thanks to the clear documentation that makes the process straightforward. Its integration capability with AWS services is impressive, enhancing my workflow efficiency. The user experience is excellent, with a simple UI and easy operations, following all asset properties. Additionally, Google Cloud SQL is cost-efficient, providing low latency and fast performance, which surpasses my previous experience with Oracle SQL. The transaction management and security features are also outstanding, making it a highly recommended choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Cloud SQL?

I find that Google Cloud SQL could be more user-friendly for those who are not deeply familiar with its features. Although the interface is generally simple, making it more understandable for laypeople would be beneficial. As it stands, a layperson might struggle to understand all the features, which limits its accessibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Platform with Room for Cost Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Google Cloud SQL?

I appreciate how Google Cloud SQL manages updates, backups, and security, freeing me from handling these technicalities. Its seamless integration with other Google Cloud tools enhances my workflow, and I find the ability to scale storage or memory crucial for meeting the power needs of my applications. The high availability feature ensures reliability by allowing another system to take over if one fails. Additionally, it's excellent for software as a service and mobile and web apps, facilitating reliable operations without heavy DevOps requirements. The efficiency and growth support it offers are significant for my entrepreneurial endeavors. Google's excellence in disaster recovery and automation feels life-changing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Cloud SQL?

I find Google Cloud SQL not the best option for very large systems or large-scale projects as it doesn't support data sources across multiple servers effectively. Additionally, the cost can become quite high, particularly when using high availability or extra copies. Sometimes, updates can cause short downtime, and I can't fully control all settings, which limits flexibility. The pricing lacks transparency and cost optimization tools, making billing complex, especially for dynamic workflows. More interactive tools or dashboards for real-time cost monitoring and prediction would improve the user experience for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
