## About Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager
Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager is a fully managed service that automates the deployment and management of Google Cloud resources using Terraform configurations. By integrating Terraform's infrastructure as code (IaC) capabilities directly into the Google Cloud ecosystem, Infrastructure Manager enables users to define, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure in a declarative and consistent manner. Key Features and Functionality: - Managed Terraform Service: Infrastructure Manager handles the execution of Terraform configurations, including state management and locking, eliminating the need for users to maintain separate toolchains or manage remote state backends. - Preview Deployments: Users can preview infrastructure changes before applying them, allowing for validation and ensuring that deployments align with expectations. - Quota Validation: The service proactively checks for quota limits, preventing deployments that would exceed project quotas and thereby reducing the risk of deployment failures. - GitOps Integration: Infrastructure Manager supports integration with Git repositories, enabling automated deployments triggered by changes in the repository, which facilitates continuous integration and delivery workflows. - Native Google Cloud Integration: The service is deeply integrated with Google Cloud's ecosystem, providing seamless access to Identity and Access Management (IAM), logging, monitoring, and security features without additional configuration. Primary Value and Problem Solved: Infrastructure Manager streamlines the process of managing Google Cloud infrastructure by providing a native, managed Terraform service. It reduces operational overhead by automating state management and deployment processes, enhances reliability through preview and validation features, and ensures consistency across environments. By integrating with existing Google Cloud services, it offers a cohesive and efficient solution for infrastructure management, enabling teams to focus on delivering value rather than managing deployment complexities.

 ### 2. Review for Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager for its features and benefits of using it as service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivanand L. | Senior Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager?**

It’s managed service which built on Terraform for streamlined Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, and it provides resource lifecycle management and seamless and continuous integration with Google Cloud ecosystem.
The best features which I have seen is without needing to set up build pipelines we would be able to deploy.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager?**

One thing is GCP UI looks bit clumsy and the documentation part of this could be little more user-friendly also sometimes it lags and takes more time to load.

**What problems is Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we using Google Cloud Platform for all our product implementation across multiple customers and from same platform we have got this feature added it helped a lot with infra management and this automation reduces lot of manual errors and expedites the deployment process.

 ### 3. Managing infra deployment and configs has become smoother

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddhant G. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager?**

It allows me to use declarative templates for managing infra which improves consistency and reduces the risk of configuration errors. It has inbuilt version control which is super useful in tracking changes and move back to previous version in case of any instability in the sytem. Scaling up or downsizing different clusters is very easy through this, and it allows me track the cost for resources in realtime as well.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager?**

It can be overwhelming for people not from tech background to understand the intracies of this tool, however it has not been problem for engineers like me. I do think a limited cross-platform cloud support is one of the downside compared to other multi-cloud management tools. The overall cost can be extremely hefty on pockets and there are other cloud tools, offering similar services at lower prices.

**What problems is Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager offers powerful capabilities for managing cloud infrastructure, providing very stable, consistent and diverse range of features to make life easier for the developers and engineers.

 ### 4. Resource and scalability management made easy with Google Cloud

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager?**

The learning curve is anyway not an easy one. Menu options are sometimes not grouped in a familiar way, but it is a subjective opinion.

**What problems is Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had to maitain on cloud a series of cloud services, essencially for leisure but also professional reasons, and couldn't find a way with other vendors to start experimenting easily. Google provided be with the cloud and the infrastructure management facilities I was looking for.
