**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Artifact Registry?**

Google Artifact Registry integrates seamlessly with Cloud Build, Cloud Run and GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines, making image management feel effortless. Pushes are fast and reliable, IAM is straightforward to manage and the end‑to‑end flow from building to deploying containers requires almost no maintenance. The native security scanning and Google‑managed infrastructure also add a lot of confidence without extra operational overhead.

**What do you dislike about Google Artifact Registry?**

The UI can feel limited, especially when dealing with a large number of repositories or images. Some configuration steps aren’t always intuitive, and resolving IAM or permission‑related issues can take longer than expected.

**What problems is Google Artifact Registry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Artifact Registry centralises all our container images and artifacts in one secure, managed location, removing the overhead of maintaining our own registry infrastructure. It streamlines our CI/CD workflow by integrating directly with Cloud Build, Cloud Run and GitHub Actions, which reduces deployment friction and speeds up releases. Built‑in security scanning and consistent IAM controls allow us to manage access easily and ensure compliance without extra tooling. Overall, it has simplified operations, reduced maintenance and made our deployments faster and more reliable.

  ### 2. Google Artifact Registry: A Comprehensive Solution for Artifact Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Artifact Registry?**

Artifact Registry is a Google-produced service to store and manage the artifacts that came out of the build, including container images and language packages. It has a really simple and user-friendly interface, so it's very easy to use, besides it has really good documentation that helps in the implementation process. It supports Universal Artifact Management and can also make good use of a variety of container images and packages. Because it is indirectly backed by Google's infrastructure, the artifacts are always available and accessible, so it's quite scalable and reliable. This also means very good integration with Google Cloud, which makes it very easy to incorporate artifacts into existing workflows. Since this is quite easy, we can use this product frequently for a large number of projects. The customer service is very nice, and users and developers form an active community that is always ready to help. This is a great product, and I highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Google Artifact Registry?**

For some, the cost of storage can be a little pricey. Since this is still in beta, some bugs or limitations may be associated with it at this point. It may also not work with some third-party tools or services. Other than that, this is a really great product.

**What problems is Google Artifact Registry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Historically, artifact management has always been fragmented and badly organized. Besides that, it was hard to integrate with the CI/CD pipelines, it had lots of security vulnerabilities, and it was highly expensive. Now, with Google Artifact Registry, we will be able to do this without any problems as were existing in traditional Artifact Management. It will benefit us greatly since these problems in artifact management were the main disadvantages at that time.

When it comes to Google Artifact Registry, one of the standout features for me is its seamless integration with other Google Cloud services. The way it effortlessly works with Google Cloud Build and Kubernetes Engine simplifies the entire development and deployment process. It's like having a well-coordinated team where everyone understands each other perfectly.

Additionally, the scalability of the Artifact Registry is impressive. Whether you're dealing with a small project or a large-scale application, the system handles it with finesse. The ability to store and manage various artifact types, from container images to Maven and npm packages, provides a unified solution for diverse development needs.

**What do you dislike about Google Artifact Registry?**

One thing that I find a bit challenging with Google Artifact Registry is the learning curve, especially for users who are new to this kind of tool. Navigating through the features and understanding the setup might take some time. It would be great if the onboarding process could be more intuitive for beginners.

**What problems is Google Artifact Registry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Artifact Registry has been a game-changer for me in terms of managing dependencies and artifacts. It's streamlined the whole process, making it a breeze to store, version, and distribute my software packages. The automatic integration with other Google Cloud services also ensures a smooth workflow. It's saved me valuable time and effort, allowing me to focus more on actual development rather than wrestling with artifact management.

**What do you like best about Google Artifact Registry?**

Since it is a google native cloud resource which is used to store and manage project artifacts which can be either container images or build artifacts and project dependencies. We can create separate repositories for different kind of projects under one private registry for our enterprise application. we can integrate this with different google cloud resources such as Continuous Integration Build and Run, Google Kubernetes Engine by configuring required IAM permissions and roles which can be frequently used for your diffrent server environments. We can also save our Kubeflow pipeline templates in artifact registry which can be then used to build and deploy Machine Learning pipeline workflow.

**What do you dislike about Google Artifact Registry?**
