**What do you like best about Gogs?**

The development team at Gogs has cut thru all the crud and gotten right to the heart of the matter and created gogs as an easy to use "appliance" that you don't have to work at and work at in order to use. It just works and doesn't need a lot of attention to keep it working.

**What do you dislike about Gogs?**

I'm not so sure there is a whole lot to dislike about it. It really doesn't try to do too much, it just does version control really well without a lot of fuss.

**Recommendations to others considering Gogs:**

Sure, try other stuff, but if you use gogs once, you will be impressed with the elegance of its simplicity!

**What problems is Gogs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gogs is our central git repo for all our source code. The benefit is that there's really near-zero spin up time for developers to use it. It's super easy to create a repo, and once it's made, gogs just gets out of the way and makes it easy to push code in. In fact, for my own stuff, I personally have a gogs setup at home for things I do on my own. When you find something that works, you just stay with it.

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Arquitecto de aplicaciones web, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Gogs?**

Gogs is an excellent version tracking application that allows me to share the projects developed in the organization where I work for my collaborators. The best thing is that this platform can be run on Windows, Mac, Linux and others. I like the ease of the interface to load my repositories or make collaborations.

**What do you dislike about Gogs?**

Your notification system does not work properly. There are colleagues who have made some collaborations in my projects and I have noticed why I enter to make any update to a project and I find that the program did not notify, however, it does not happen all the time.

**Recommendations to others considering Gogs:**

I recommend using Gogs especially if you want to be part of a fresh and minimalist platform to manage your codes and create repositories for all your projects. On its website you can find quite complete and acceptable documentation so that using this service is easy and pleasant.

**What problems is Gogs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my Github account I have accumulated so many projects that sometimes it is difficult to find one, so my employer suggested that I try Gogs as a version control system to manage my API codes and collaborate with my colleagues.
