You can also edit an existing font. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** I would give the possibility of inserting more types of export, also for the creation of vector graphics or for entire logos. In fact, Glyph has some really great tools for vector graphics. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used it to create entire font families or to modify some existing ones. I often use it in combination with Illustrator to create icons or logos, taking advantage of the vector design possibilities it offers. ### 2. Those who are used to working with Illustrator will have no difficulty in handling it. It also allows copying / pasting from other software. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** I have little to object to what its purpose is. Regularly updated, small bugs may occur which are however immediately solved. **Recommendations to others considering Glyphs:** For type designers it is one of the best software, moreover among the simplest and most immediate, both for the creation and engineering phase. It can also be used to create single letters or writings, not necessarily for an entire font. It also allows you to create variable fonts, and I think it has an affordable cost. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** In the past I have created entire typefaces either personal or on commission from clients. Today I also use it to create individual glyphs, or a logotype, for example for a logo. I also used it to create custom lettering for posters or editorial products. ### 3. It has all the features needed by professional font designers, such as intelligent components, interpolation, kerning, hinting, and even variable font beta support. On the website, there is a support forum and the developers are very open. Cutting edge updates are regularly issued. Help questions are generally answered within hours and often followed up with an updated version of the application if necessary. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** To receive cutting edge updates, which are published every couple of days, you can opt-in. These provide new functionality, but also introduce fresh bugs or alter the details without being aware of it. Better remain with the official releases of the stable. You should adhere to the principles set for you by the Glyphs. For example, all the automated features won't function correctly if you try to use your own glyph names. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can design the logos and the image of my company. The events that organized by our side are needed to have the special logos and brochures design and by using this software I can provide this service for my company. ### 4. The ability to add plugins is a great feature and this really helps when creating variable typefaces. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** It’s hard to dislike Glyphs. But I do I feel that setting up a font could be more streamlined. **Recommendations to others considering Glyphs:** For new users, Glyphs is a great starting point when you consider the other, more complicated and less user friendly options. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having only previously used a competitor, moving over to glyphs was a extremely simple and I’ve never looked back since. When dealing with international clients, it’s paramount that every detail is spot on, glyphs enables me to do this. ### 5. It has a great price and student license available. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** Only Mac OS compatibility. When you have any error designing your type it can be a little difficult to know what has happened. **Recommendations to others considering Glyphs:** If you are a student, It has a great student license available. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is more easy to use than the Windows software that I have proved before. ### 6. It is great for kerning in real time and it integrates perfectly with other design programs. **What do you dislike about Glyphs?** I don't like that it is only mac compatible. **Recommendations to others considering Glyphs:** Perfect for new users who wants to make their own fonts. **What problems is Glyphs solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is far more efficient than other font creation programs.
