## GitHub Inc. Reviews
 ### 1. Rich Coding Ecosystem and Familiar Git Workflows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bas W. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

The richest ecosystem in the world in terms of coding. The vast majority of our team members are familiar with Git workflows and the Github interface that's on top of it.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

Several useful features are behind a team paywall. It is sometimes cumbersome to isolate a users default profile from company information, as most join with a personal profile or are required to create an entirely new one.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Github allows our global remote team to easily work together in all codebases. We're able to invite external consultants or work with cross-company repositories with ease. Github, being the biggest source code control software provider, has a variety of integrations with leading cloud providers and other SaaS companies allowing easy CI/CD pipelines and other features which speed up our development workflows.

 ### 2. Reliable, Well-Organized Code Management That Makes Collaboration Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivam P. | Laravel Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

What I like most about GitHub is how reliable and well organized it is for managing code. Pushing and pulling changes, working with branches, and reviewing code through pull requests all feel smooth and structured. It makes collaboration easy and keeps the entire development history transparent and accessible.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

Some advanced features and settings can feel a bit overwhelming for new users at first. However, this mainly comes from how powerful and feature-rich the platform is. Once you become familiar with it, the workflow becomes very efficient and easy to manage.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pick it Up solves the challenge of managing code collaboration in a team environment. It provides a centralized place for tracking version control chains and handling peer code reviews. For me, that means fewer merge conflicts, better code quality, and clear visibility into changes, which leads to smoother collaboration when multiple developers are working on the same project. It also helps maintain a proper history of updates, making debugging and tracking changes much easier.

 ### 3. Easy, Fast, and Packed with Integrations—A DevOps Must-Have

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** yuvraj t. | Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

Easy access to code, bugs, PRs, and contributions from different DevOps teams.

Easy to use UI/UX, and has never ending integrations with other industry standard tools (everything you can think of, and even with so many features and integrations the performance is amazing. Considering the pricing for a startup it is almost nothing for the feature it offers.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

Nothing, I love the product so very much.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Github helps us keep tracks of issues that were identified in the system, and what we did to fix it, along with where the fix is at, when it will be deployed to next channel, etc.

 ### 4. Industry-Standard and Easy to Use: Git and Github

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed T. | Contributor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

I absolutely love their products and use them everyday. Specifically Git anx Github. They are industry standard products and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

The products may not be user friendly, so they should have some official video guides on how to use them.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are absolutely useful in and required to use in my daily workflow of software development. Biggest use would be to allow me and my coworkers to share a code base and work on projects together

 ### 5. More Than Just Git: The Complete DevSecOps Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brallan G. | SRE & DevOps Engineer, Program Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

It's no longer just a code repository; it's a complete developer platform. I love how GitHub Actions seamlessly integrates CI/CD right next to the code, eliminating the need for external build servers. Adding features like Copilot and Dependabot means we have coding assistance, security scanning, and automation all in one unified ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

The pricing structure for advanced features can get steep. While the core product is great, features like 'GitHub Advanced Security' and 'Codespaces' are billed as separate, expensive add-ons. For a mid-sized organization, managing these fragmented costs and forecasting the bill for CI/CD minutes can be a complex headache.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves tool fragmentation and security visibility. By consolidating version control, CI/CD, and security scanning (via Dependabot) in one platform, we have a unified view of our software supply chain. The benefit is that security becomes automated and proactive, rather than a bottleneck at the end of the development cycle.

 ### 6. Convenient Version Control Anywhere with GitHub

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William M. | Software Development Intern (Project-Based), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

GitHub lets me push, pull, create branches, and manage different versions of my software. I can access it through the mobile app or the web app, which makes it convenient to use wherever I am.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

The fact that Copilot only uses 80GB of RAM bothers me. Alexa Plus uses 96GB, and Grok uses 128GB.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a great hub that a team or corporation can access, helping keep everyone on the same page.

 ### 7. Industry-Standard Collaboration Made Easy with Code Reviews and Pull Requests

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naph P. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

As the industry standard for collaboration it does not disappoint. I like how it makes it easy for teams to collaborate by integrating code reviews and pull requests.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

I don't like the fact that it has a repository size limit and while public repositories are free, advanced features and some security tools require payment.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The easy and remote collaboration allows team members to track projects and suggest improvements.

 ### 8. GitHub: Easy, Widely Used Repo Hosting We Rely on Every Day

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahil D. | Software Development in Test, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

Github is the best and widely used for the repo hosting. Our company has implemented and integrated a lot of its project on Github. It is fairy very easy to use with the commands or through extensions in the IDE. I am using Github almost everyday in my task. Have not used customer support at all as there was never a need for that

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

The only drawback I face when using GitHub is with the revert option which can be a bit more controlled as I cannot check or change what all I need to revert if I push the code to the repo and have to discard all the changes to last commit

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Github is being used for hosting the project repositories for the client that we work with and is the safest option for our company and we have been using the Github services for many years now.

 ### 9. Seamless Remote Collaboration and Easy Deployments with GitHub

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aryan S. | Web Development Head, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

The best thing is we can collaborate with anyone even if they are far away.
We can push the changes or pull the changes that are made by the other person which makes it very useful. We can also deploy our websites and host it using GitHub deployments.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

So far, I haven’t found anything bad about GitHub. I’ve been using it for the past 6 years, and my experience has been consistently positive.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is collaboration with other people, especially in coding and development. When a lot of people are working on the same project, we need to be fully updated on the changes made by others.

 ### 10. GitHub Makes Code Collaboration Feel Natural and Organized

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

What stands out most about GitHub is how effectively it makes collaboration around code feel natural and organized. It takes something that could be messy—multiple people working on the same codebase—and structures it with tools like pull requests, code reviews, and issue tracking.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

One downside of GitHub is that it can feel a bit complex and unintuitive at times, especially for beginners. Concepts like branching, rebasing, and pull requests are already hard to grasp, and GitHub’s interface doesn’t always make them easier to understand.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GitHub solves the problem of managing and collaborating on code across multiple people and versions. It organizes changes, tracks history, and provides tools like pull requests and issues.

For me, that means I can work with others more easily, keep my code organized, and safely make changes without losing progress or breaking things.

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

I use GitHub everyday, and it's easy to use, which is great. The website is simple to understand, so I can handle my projects and work with others easily. Putting GitHub into my work routine was easy too, it works well with lots of other tools. Whenever I need help, the support team is fast and really useful. I use GitHub a bunch, and it doesn't slow down even when I use it a lot, which is cool. It has lots of cool stuff like tracking issues and tools for managing projects that make me work better.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

GitHub is super useful for my work, but there are a couple of things that bug me. Sometimes, connecting it to older systems can be a bit of a headache. It takes some extra work and patience to get everything running smoothly. Also, while the interface is mostly easy to use, there are times when finding certain features can be a bit tricky. But overall, these little issues don't overshadow how great GitHub is for managing projects and working together.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GitHub helps by keeping all our code organized and making it easy for everyone in the team to work on it together without making a mess. It also helps us manage tasks and projects better. Storing our work on GitHub means we always have the latest stuff, and we can learn from other people's work too. It makes our teamwork smoother and our code better.

 ### 34. Best code Collaboration tool

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

GitHub has helped me in seamless sharing of my code with my peers. we can work on the code from any part of the world at any time. We can make our code private if needed or keep it public for Open Source projects

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

Not much honestly, just that there is a little learning curve for someone who is new to GitHub Actions, maybe a chatbot on the UI can guide and fix it.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has solved problems like seamless and instant code collaboration, you can even edit the code on web UI if you dont have a code editor intalled which makes it very friendly to use. It hosts a lot of Open Source projects currently which has helped me and my peers a lot in overall product development

 ### 35. Github - The BEST version control software ever

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krati B. | Consultant Data Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2023

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

Github helps improve life of a software developer in many ways. On raising a Pull Request, the reviewer can go through all the changes which are highlighted extensively by github, and then the reviewer can request changes - which again gets documented in the PR. As and when the author does any change, the activity is logged in the PR. Github help us organize our releases, monitor changelog, deploy hotfix among other features.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

Github CLI is not very intutive and not easy to understand. The 'branches' in github are complicated to visualize. When dealing with multiple branches, it becomes increasingly complex to rebase the branch. Also it is very difficult to resolve merge commits.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps developers like me to create PR for a particular feature by creating a branch. It provides flexibility in terms of creating multiple commits in a single PR to organise different modules. It helps in getting code reviewed in a systematic way - and tracks every change that a developer does. Even if something terribly goes wrong, we can easily roll that change back in Github. It helps in dispatching multiple releases in a single day easily.

 ### 41. The best place to put your code

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amarjit M. | Flutter Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2023

**What do you like best about GitHub Inc.?**

GitHub is a basic need for any developer. From the very beginning, they start their journey by learning git & GitHub. So it has to be very much user friendly as is used by so many freshers, which it is. The ability to switch between dark and light modes is another blessing.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**

There are a few things that I don't like about GitHub. First, the commit log color is in dark mode. If you have just one or two commits it shows like you don't have any commits since the color is very dark.
The second one is, the tree branch view that is present in other applications bitbucket is missing here.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without GitHub, it would be a nightmare for us developers. If we just store all the version history locally there will be a possibility of data loss, security issues, and many other problems. GitHub is like a vault for developers where we can put our code without any worries.

The tools are easy to use on either Mac or PC platforms and also with the option to use GitHub Desktop versus command prompts/Bash is a nice option as well.

This not only helps in work efficiency or cost and time savings but also contribute towards quality without compromises.

Pricing can be issue for the team and enterprise as for the private repository Bitbucket is there. So I think Github should focus on the private repository more cheaper to beat the competition.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to merge code from multiple user in a single repository and also helps to guide people who actually interested to learn coding. It helped me when I developed my own software project it helped me to merge the codes in a single repository.

The performance is very slow when there is high traffic on the platform. The pricing is too high if an organization is small or for individuals.

**What problems is GitHub Inc. solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a secure platform for sharing works and it has made things simple for the developers and others to share. Earlier we had to make zip file and all stuffs and the other person had to download and it was a slow process.

Github is a platform that acts as a respository and a version control system. It allows team members to collaborate closely. Code or content can be reviewed and approved. Pull requests and commits to various branches are possible. Email notifications are triggered when updates are made. The tabbed view in github helps in locating items you want to review.

**What do you dislike about GitHub Inc.?**
