You can often figure out how to do things yourself. Updates are ongoing and easy to install. These people listen, discuss, incorporate your ideas. That’s the secret of their success... founded by programmers (as opposed to the usual: GeoScientist hack) surrounded by world class Geophysicists who needed solutions. Seisware geophysics is the culmination of decades of real world adjustments by experts. **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** Geophysics has become less simple as complex processes were added. As most software a professional uses the 80/20 rule.... you use 20% of the functionality 80% of your time. It would be helpful to have more short video training clips which pop up to “remind you” how the complex multi step process available are intended to proceed. Searching HELP works but you need to know what to search for. In your face Pop ups you dismiss are the answer. Good thing the support line is so perfect. **Recommendations to others considering Geophysics by Seisware:** Arrange for a trial. Geophysics is available as a annual license. Hourly and monthly “pay as you go” is available through specific agreement with their business partner. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** My career has covered seismic interpretation, processing, now advisory on O&G assets A&D. When I assist review teams who fly in to review the proprietary seismic, they need to “work the seismic” review picks, confirm proposed drilling locations. A huge bonus is that the Help desk is very responsive (quick to answer) to questions and extremely knowledgeable **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** I am really searching for a dislike, but in the rare occasion when I try different gridding algorithms, they seem to struggle and fail. **Recommendations to others considering Geophysics by Seisware:** If you need dependable software to get the job done then use SeisWare and their Support staff will be better than any other product that you have used before. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** Importing of most data is flexible, quick and easy, which permits me to get a quick initial answer. But the software also has the depth to do comprehensive analysis also. It serves all purposes. ### 4. Able to talk to a knowledgeable support staff almost every time you call. **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** A bit challenging to work on inverted data. **Recommendations to others considering Geophysics by Seisware:** This is a great software application. You should be confident that you can get up to speed and adding value quickly. Take advantage of the excellent support to ensure you are using all the tools. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been using Seisware for more than 20 years. I have been able to use it for all my interpretation needs throughout Canada. It provides fast and effective tools to interpret structure and stratigraphic plays. The maps and displays are great for presenting your results. ### 5. Seisware is my go-to tool for 2D and 3D seismic mapping and integration of these datasets. There is no other product on the market that can do these tasks as well as Seisware can. If I have any issues with the software, the support team is fast and responsive and has me sorted in no time. **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** I sometimes have challenges mapping faults, especially in complex situations, the functionality is a bit limited. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** In onshore settings with various vintages and types of (2D/3D) seismic data, Seisware is the best at bringing together these sometimes disparate datasets for a cohesive interpretation. I have used the software in extensional, compressional and passive geological setttings ### 6. It is simple to use yet provides all the bells and whistles that are required in a seismic interpretation package. The Help line is also the best help line of any software program I have used. They pride themselves with being available when you call and to helping you solve any problems you may be experiencing. **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** There is not really anything to dislike about Seisware that I can see. I have been using Seisware since October 1999. **Recommendations to others considering Geophysics by Seisware:** Seisware is easy to learn to use, will do everything I want it to do and is cheaper than any of its competitors. Actually, it really doesn't have competitors. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Seisware for basic seismic interpretation, mapping, depth conversions, basic data manipulation/post-stack processing and presentation material. ### 7. Consequently data must be moved back and fourth from third party software like Hampson Russell which does not have a canned interface with Seisware. **What problems is Geophysics by Seisware solving and how is that benefiting you?** Rapid comparison of SEGY data sets relative to well data reveals trends and ambiguities in the data. ### 8. It's extremely convenient to be able to do so much using the same software package. ### 9. It is so well developed that the workflows bridge the gap between geology and geophysics, as well as engineering. From seismic interpretation to full field development - I do not have to go to other software packages to do the full cycle workflow. Also - The support is excellent. **What do you dislike about Geophysics by Seisware?** I cannot point to anything specific it does what I need it to do. **Recommendations to others considering Geophysics by Seisware:** This is a powerful interpretation software for Geology and Geophysics.
