"Constant flow of clients and targeted projects, with responsive support"
5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

As a developer, the main advantage for me is access to a steady stream of clients that I would hardly reach otherwise. I can browse projects that match my skills and apply only to those that truly interest me, saving a significant amount of time compared to direct searching. The support has also proven to be responsive: the account verification was completed within the day, with clear instructions on the required documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Trustworthy Platform Backed by Real Identity Verification"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

What I like best about Freelancer.com is the sheer volume and variety of projects available. As a freelancer looking to take on tasks, I consistently find plenty of opportunities that match my skill set, and the bidding and award process is transparent and fair — I always understand where I stand and what the next step is.

Another standout is the platform's commitment to verifying real users. Anaiah from the Freelancer team conducted a video interview to verify my identity and skills, and she was friendly, patient, and genuinely professional throughout. That level of human verification gives me confidence that I'm competing in a trustworthy community of vetted freelancers rather than anonymous accounts, which makes the whole experience feel more legitimate and secure. What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

The main downside I've experienced is how competitive the platform is. Because Freelancer.com has such a large global pool of freelancers and agencies, popular or high-quality projects often attract a huge number of bids within a short time. As an individual freelancer, it can be genuinely difficult to stand out and win those premium projects, especially when you're competing against established teams with extensive portfolios and aggressive pricing.

It's not uncommon to see a great project posting and, within hours, find that dozens of bids have already been submitted — many from agencies that can undercut on price or leverage a larger team. This makes the early stage of building your reputation on the platform feel somewhat uphill. That said, once you establish a solid track record and reviews, it does become more manageable, and the platform's verification process (like the video interview I had with Anaiah) helps genuine freelancers stand out over time. "Milestones and Smart Filtering Make Freelancer.com a Reliable Project Pipeline"
5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

As a PHP/Laravel developer with 8+ years of experience, I’ve used Freelancer.com to find and manage client projects, and a few things really stand out. The milestone payment system has been a game-changer for how I structure client relationships. Instead of chasing invoices after delivery, I break projects into milestones upfront so both sides know exactly what’s due and when. That alone has cut down the payment-related back-and-forth significantly.

The bidding system and project feed also make it easy to filter specifically for Laravel, Vue.js, and Livewire work, so I’m not wasting time scanning irrelevant listings. I can usually find 2–3 solid matches for my stack within a day of browsing.

Communication is smoother, too. The built-in chat and file sharing inside each project thread means I’m not juggling five different tools just to talk with a client—specs, screenshots, and code snippets all stay in one place and are tied to the actual contract.

One unexpected benefit is that the Preferred Freelancer Program review process pushed me to tighten up how I document deliverables and communicate progress. That’s made me better at client management even outside the platform. Overall, Freelancer.com has become a reliable pipeline for consistent, well-defined work, not just a marketplace to browse. What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

The membership tier structure is the biggest friction point for me. Competitive bidding limits and visibility are locked behind paid tiers, so as a freelancer trying to build up a track record, I feel like I’m paying just to be seen by clients, on top of the project fees taken later. That also makes the platform’s overall cost structure hard to predict from month to month.

Bid competition and race-to-the-bottom pricing are another issue. Because so many freelancers can bid on the same project, clients sometimes default to sorting by the lowest price rather than the best fit. That pushes rates down for everyone and makes it harder to win well-scoped, fairly priced work early on, before you’ve had a chance to build up reviews. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Trusted Platform with Outstanding Customer Support"

What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

What I like best about Freelancer.com is the opportunity to connect with clients from around the world and build long-term professional relationships. The platform is easy to use for finding projects, submitting proposals, and communicating with clients. I also had an excellent experience with the Verified by Freelancer program. Barry conducted the verification interview professionally and made the process comfortable with his calm, patient, and respectful approach. Even when there was a delay in my verification badge appearing, the support team followed up until the issue was resolved. Overall, Freelancer.com has been a valuable platform for growing my freelance career. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

The only improvement I would suggest is making account updates and verification changes appear more quickly. Apart from that, I have had a very positive experience with the platform, and the support team was professional and helpful in resolving my issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Powerful Platform for Freelance Growth and Global Opportunities"
5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

What I like best about Freelancer.com is the wide range of opportunities available across different industries and skill levels. The platform makes it easy to connect with clients from around the world, build long‑term working relationships, and grow professionally. I also appreciate the secure payment system, transparent reviews, and competitive bidding process, which create a trustworthy and motivating environment for freelancers to showcase their skills and succeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

One downside of Freelancer.com is the high level of competition, which can sometimes drive prices down and make it challenging for skilled professionals to stand out. Additionally, service fees and bid limitations can feel restrictive, especially for new freelancers who are still building their profiles. However, with the right strategy and consistency, these challenges can be managed effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exceptional Platform for Freelancers' Success"
5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

I like Freelancer.com as it is my primary earning platform. Freelancer.com always guides me to a better solution for any problem I raise. My freedom of work is what I like most about it. The platform works well for me, and I think the Preferred Freelancer Program is especially valuable as it gives access to more work as a freelancer. It is beneficial for bidding on high-value projects and is also recommended by recruiters on Freelancer.com. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy and effortless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

Sometimes I feel that as a freelancer, I work and earn. I suggest that Freelancer.com should first allow freelancers to earn from clients and then take a commission, instead of placing the burden directly on the freelancer before earning from a client. Charges first on acceptance of a project before earning is a burden on freelancers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Freelancer.com: Easy Bidding, Great Contests, and a top Freelancing Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

Freelancer.com is one of the best platforms for freelancing on which I have worked. The best thing I find about it is that not only can you bid on various projects, but you can also participate in contests as well. These contests are available in various areas like designing, writing, etc. So, people who are experts in different areas can apply to these contests. They also offer an attractive amount for the winner. The other things, including the platform's navigation and bidding process, are simple and well-designed. Overall, it is one of my go-to freelancing sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

One thing that I dislike most about this site is that it has many fake projects. Unverified employers with no verified payment method initiate these projects. Many people bid on such projects, but they don't hear back because no freelancer is chosen. Freelancer.com can improve on the verification of employers as well in addition to the verification of freelancers. There are many verification which needs to be completed by a freelancer working on the app, but for employers, these verification rules are not as stringent. This is one aspect that needs to be improved on the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Platform for Freelancers, but Highly Competitive"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Freelancer.com?

Freelancer.com provides a great platform to connect with clients from all over the world. I like the wide variety of projects available, flexible working opportunities, and secure payment system. It helps freelancers grow their skills, build a strong portfolio, and earn independently while working from anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?

One thing I don’t like about Freelancer.com is how tough it can be for new freelancers to get started because of the high competition. It often feels like you have to bid very low just to win your first few projects. The service fees are also a bit high, which cuts into earnings. Sometimes there are low-quality or unclear job postings, and dealing with clients who have unrealistic expectations can be challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
