It is a MUST have if you are a pilot/training to be a pilot **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Shahd A. | Contracts Administrator, Associate, Commercial Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021 **What do you like best about ForeFlight?** I can obtain weather briefings, navlogs, flight plans, log all my flights, get current aviation data and airport diagrams along with allowing to save documents directly to the app and having all the charts I need at the palm of my hands. I love that I can access foreflight on any device whether that is my phone, my iPad, or my laptop. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** It is a bit pricey with the minimum subscription price being $99/year for the basic features but it is very well worth every cent spent on it. Aside from making the subscription a little cheaper, especially for student pilots who don't need all the in-depth features, I really don't think there is much that needs to be improved. It is an amazing app and a must-have for all pilots because using paper charts and paper in general is rapidly becoming a thing of the past in aviation. **Recommendations to others considering ForeFlight:** Buy. The. Subscription. You will never turn back. The competitors are great, Garmin makes great aviation tools but when it comes to convenience, functionality, and ease of use, Foreflight is the way to go. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Despite the subscription price being expensive, I am saving so much money on charts that I would have had to spend nearly $120 a year on anyways. Aside from that, it has been the most convenient app because I can find literally everything I need for every flight on there. There's no better way to put it than the fact it has saved me HOURS of flight planning every night for the next day. Using Foreflight, I'm done in about 30 minutes or less. ### 2. Fore flight Review **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Chetan S. | Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024 **What do you like best about ForeFlight?** I am using this tool from the past year in CAE.This tool is used for navigation purpose, putting the flight plan into the multi colour display unit of the aircraft.We are using this for reading the jeppsen charts for moving the aircraft simulator from bay to take off point. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** Nothing as this tool is used widely by aviation professional in airlines. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** The most important thing is, It is providing the navigation charts to flight crew, which is essential for airworthiness and safe operation of aircraft. ### 3. Easy flight planning. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** You cannot see other Foreflight traffic like OzRunways or Avplan, and you cannot access FlightAware data either who they have partnered with. As in flight, if you are connected to Sentry Plus, this disables mobile data so FlightAware traffic cannot work! If they update the firmware so the IOS device sees it as "no internet connection", it will then use mobile data instead and problem solved. Support was not great as when I spoke of the problem of not having internet access and not being able to do a PACK for one example, they told me I had to do my flight with mobile data off, but do the Pack in the runup bay with mobile data on and then turn mobile data off for the flight. However, having mobile data off causes Foreflight to give an error on load saying no mobile data access. It took several emails to get them to respond to this which resulted in them now telling me the opposite and to use ForeFlight with mobile data on even though it does not work. Some of the supprt team did not answer all your questions and responded to one only and ignored the rest. Head of support saw my comment on this and in turn answered all my questions however. Her support was excellent. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been told that they may consider fixing the mobile data issue in the future and I hope they do. In the meanwhile, I am going back to OzRunways as I have no choice. ### 4. Nothing replaces see and avoid but this really helps see aircraft well before they come in to close. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** I dislike that you have to pay more for the more premium features. I would prefer to have just one option for everyone. It seems silly that we are just restricting the use of some super great safety features for money. **Recommendations to others considering ForeFlight:** Between this and garmin pilot there is no contest. Foreflight is lightyears ahead. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Forelight makes fight planning as easy as it ever has been. It provides an extreemly through and useful weather brief for the flight that I am about to execute. ### 7. The product is intuitive and if you don't know how to use something only take a minute or two to figure it out. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** Fore flight is only working with apple products and has not bridged the gape yet to work with Window products make it more user friendly to all operating systems that are out there to use. Thus alot of pilot have an apple just for Foreflight and might not be familiar with using apple products in return. **Recommendations to others considering ForeFlight:** I would like pricing break down to easier to understand for the type of flying i will be doing. Like have the moving charts since I am IFR flying. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fore flight assists with planning well for flights in the national airspace system if it is for personal use to small airstrips/airports or into the largest airport with complex procedures. Not only assist in flight planning but fuel, locations and accommodations. ### 8. When paired with an ADS-B in source, I can get in-flight weather updates, traffic alerts and information about an airport that includes unscheduled stops. The situational awareness that ForeFlight provides is amazing. **What do you dislike about ForeFlight?** About the only issue I have with ForeFlight is whatever I have a reroute. You can only inserts one waypoint at a time. The workaround is to type in all of your waypoints after the destination and then re-organize you can only inserts one way points at a time. This will allow you to carry all of the charts and plates as well as updates. **What problems is ForeFlight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to provide logistical support to the officers of my company.
