This is by far the best app I've used. If like my old self, you are spending too much time on ... whatever (reading the news/sports/youtube/social media/emails etc.) either during work or during your family time, this one is for you.

I've tried so many other apps to restrict myself, but they weren't close to FocusMe.

Both in the functions it enables you (such as 10 minutes of news every hour, or 1 hour of youtube per day, or no amazon during working hours), and in letting you decide beforehand whether the block would be circumventable and to what degree.

I also discussed it with my 12 year old son, who was happy to install it on his computer and set a daily 1 hour limit to minecarft.

It's not cheap, but I got my money's worth back within a day or two.

If that isn't enough, their support is extraordinary. I sent the support a few emails and they always got back to me within a day, with detailed explanation and solved every problem I had, and then followed it up to make sure that they solved my problem.

The software far beats the other blocking software I've used, and is definitely easier to configure. In addition to that, the software is very up-to-date on modern blocking methods. The developers are more than eager to take feedback and improve existing methods (for reference, I alerted the team about a possible bypass and they got back to me with a patch in only a few days). The UI is a little unresponsive/laggy at times, but the program doesn't drop inputs (for example, if I click a button, it might take a bit to respond, but I've never had to repeat a command - it seems like it's just delayed sometimes). The other apps are not blocking apps. If you have minimal technical skill they're merely inconveniencing apps. FocusMe is the only app I couldn't unblock in 5 minutes of low effort.
