It is beneficial for data mirroring and then moving to another location. All you need to boot the recovery CD, Configure the network, and the disks are restored. Its also easy to mount a snapshot and do recovery. **What do you dislike about Falconstor?** In order to get it working on your cloud you need a lot of work to do. The user friendly interface which helps even the new person to the software understand it well. It has the capability to automate backup and restore according to the need of organisational. The backup and restore process is seamless, one can easily restore a full system backup in very less , that's quite a good part of it and this has been the most likely thing about this software. **What do you dislike about Falconstor?** We are quite early to this software and been using it since less than a quarter, so till now everything is working flawless. It is bit expensive if compared to other software, but i am going with it for now. And there is always a chance of making the backup and restore process even more faster. **What problems is Falconstor solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have to keep a lot of data backup, in such a scenario, NSS is helping us to store our data at many points wherever we want. We can create a backup on a physical device or on system backup or even at cloud, and we are able to automate the backup process with this smart software and it's pretty advanced based on latest technology. ### 11. The restore process is simple and intuitive and the entire system is easy to expand so that it can scale as your needs increase. Backups and restores are very fast due to the use of disks and the connections between servers, but you can also configure everything as virtual tapes for ease of management. **What do you dislike about Falconstor?** The basic console can be a little daunting at first, and training on how to use the system is an absolute must. **Recommendations to others considering Falconstor:** Try to plan ahead regarding your available backup space. Always build in a cushion over and above what you absolutely need in terms of disk space. Good functionalities **What do you dislike about Falconstor?** Standard generic driver support, so no provider specific driver like for example atape device driver for IBM LTO tape devices not usable, hence the multipath functionality of the device driver can not be used with the FalconStor appliance, which is very disappointing. **What problems is Falconstor solving and how is that benefiting you?** You can emulate tape devices for your backup solution. Advantage of the VTL is that you can easily add mount points (tape devices) and tapes as required to meet your backup objectives. With physical tape devices and physical tapes this is mor a hastle and more complex as you need to physically intervene on the infrastructure. ### 17. For example, the NSSVA and CDPVA are not supported in Hyper-V, whereas there's a new version FMSVA that requires more steps in terms of setup. **Recommendations to others considering Falconstor:** Use the classical NSS/CDP if you need just base functionality, such as Timemark, Mirror, Replication...if you need the web and cloud version, try out FMS **What problems is Falconstor solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use it to do outband data mirror(Window Disksafe, Linux LVM, etc...) and then replicate to a remote site ### 20. It is easy to get around the software. The capabilities of this product is awesome. It has a predictive analysis option that is great. The installation process was a little difficult but besides that the software itself was awesome. The support is not the best. It can take awhile for customer support to get back to you but once they do it is good. **Recommendations to others considering Falconstor:** If you want a easy software to manage that is really smart and can help you in other areas this is the software for you. **What problems is Falconstor solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has helped with making good business decision. It saved us money from our last backup software and this one is a lot smarter.
