I find Factal to be user-friendly, intuitive, and has so many great resources and tools. The Factal team is extremely responsive and helpful with trainings offered and new features. It provides a good global overview and captures so much relevant information. I use it every day and always have the dashboard open. Not much to say about any downsides. There was trouble for some team members to join certain events like the informative security briefing, due to the majority being outside US-based time-zones, but the Factal editors are on 24/7 and they've made the time earlier to accomodate. The flash briefings keep well informed. They are factual and insightful. Analysts are very in touch with the situation in their respective areas. I am able to screen news stories for my interests. My organization (including both our Global SOC and the strategic intel team) has been using Factal for a few years now and is very satisfied with its ease of use and friendly and quick customer service. The Factal team is also constantly striving to introduce new features that they -- and clients like us -- think will be highly useful, and they do a really nice job communicating those changes. The Factal podcast is also a good resource, and the twice-monthly Global Security Briefing is always full of interesting new analysis and insights across a broad range of geographies and topics. My organization is currently onboarding a new threat intel platform and has opted to retain Factal as well (integrated via API) because no other tool we've demo'ed has matched their ability to provide timely, vetted, and actionable breaking news alerts. Very few downsides that I've been able to identify. Sometimes the signal-to-noise ratio might get off-kilter, but this is usually fixed by adjusting filters and notification settings. Free to use for NGOs and providing verified information in near real time. Factal provides use with the abiity to zoom into reporting quickly and on a number of platforms (app + desktop + web). It has become part of our daily routine and we direct colleagues to use the platform in a number of different countries (currently 42).
