What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

What I like best about ExamDiff Pro is the ability to do a side-by-side review of documents and compare the differences. The color-coded line numbers make it easy to see each line and compare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Examdiff Pro?

What I dislike the most about ExamDiff Pro is it is not compatible with every running system we use. We have to make sure to be using windows xp. Using the correct program to run ExamDiff Pro ensures it works correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Examdiff Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problem we solved with ExamDiff Pro is with our data comparison from our different monitoring programs. We run three various reports and have to compare to get the inclusive data needed to report correctly. This allows us to easily compare the data and create the end report with everything needed. What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

Examdiff pro compares files and folder quickly and efficiently. The tool has multiple features like scan and search contents, easily merge the texts between documents which is helpful for files and content search. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

I love Examdiff software! I used this beginning in the late 2000's and found it useful then and the bells and whistles have only gone up. This allows me to see exactly what changed in a line, show some code highlighting and move changes from left to right doc or right to left. I would consider trying the free version first. Free doesn't include any bells and whistles like highlighting exact code/text in a line that has changed, but it will give you a sense for what the software does and viewing a comparison chart should give you a clear idea of what to expect once you make the change. What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

"Very powerful directory and file comparison"

What do you like best about Examdiff Pro?

One of my favorite features is the HTML diff report. When I've done a comparison and I need to communicate the results of that to other people, ExamDiff saves an HTML report that perfectly highlights all the diffs and even does the side-by-side scrolling.

The reader of the report gets many of the great comparison features without needing the software. The HTML report makes it very easy to see diffs.

EDP is well-configured out of the box for intuitive and easy use. But is also configurable for many things like ignores, filters, keyboard navigation, source-code merging, and much more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Examdiff Pro?

Hard to think of any complaints... There is one thing - it seems to prefer opening on the primary display always, rather than the display that I last used, or the display of the current EDP window.

Minor annoyance, but I wish I could specify which screen is the preferred one for opening new EDP windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to copy changes from one file or directory to the other

Can compare files from Windows Explorer

Can compare files in separate directories from Windows Explorer

Can use plugins to see differences in binary files

Can ignore some lines or parts of lines

Can highlight differences within lines

Can ignore many types of text differences (case, linebreak styles, comments, etc)

Can do full file comparison when comparing directories or use file metadata (size, date, etc)

Can exclude files and directories from directory comparison

ExamDiff Pro is much better than free solutions and well worth the cost if you compare files or folders more than once or twice a week.

Most version control systems let you specify external comparison programs, and I use ExamDiff Pro for SVN and CVS comparisons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use ExamDiff Pro to show changes in files before checking them into version control.

I use it to compare copies of folders (copied for backup purposes, or to a different computer, etc.).

I use it to compare versions of files after other people work on them.
