It is easy to use. Filling out screens are no complicated on what you need to enter and where ETAX, STPS, EDDP. The batch stipends is a new feature that will help our processes. Reporting is not the best. We have to use Informer or now Argos that we are on SAAS. Alot of manual changes though. It would be nice to scan tax forms in and have the system read them. We would like to move away from Kronos for timekeeping but we need time clocks and have employe not be able to alter their own and request time off and scheduling. There are not the best standard reports. We have our IT department create a lot of reports in Informer. Some of the processes and workflows seem clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a big ol' system with lots of capacity for all the data we could ever want to store/archive. Running simple .csv exports is easy enough once you know the pages you need to find and the sometimes inconsistent coding required to input parameters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's so big and overbearing that most of the platform is empty. For whatever reason, much of our data isn't automated so lots of updates require hand entry, which often means it just doesn't get input to Banner, which means it's not available to end-users like me. Reporting, though simple enough on the front end, requires a whole f/t person, so updating my own reports on the fly isn't possible. It's always a ticket to request support. Banner also can be buggy. There is a perpetual issue among every colleague I know (who are Chrome users, which are most all of us) where logging in will always throw an error saying to log in again. But that doesn't work. You just have to press the "return to previous page" button and try logging in a couple of times. Other times you get a 500 Error with no explanation. But basically you've got to clear all your cookies. Now, you could clear your entire cache, but if you don't want to do that, you've got to look for specific cookies under at least three different names. Basically, banner is either really buggy or our IT team hasn't implemented it properly (but I doubt that because they're very good). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that it is simple to use. There are many available codes and customization tools in it. I like that many departments in my organization can use the same system. It is a good place to store data. I think it is very useful when we are running our payroll. It is simple to use and easy to train others on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes I get notices that it is not connected to the server. It can also run very slowly sometimes. I wish it could be easier to make reports from colleague information. I think our IT department has a hard time creating reports from the information on Colleague, but I think it is nice that they have that option to create reports. Banner is a great tool for the broad spectrum of uses and applications and easy to navigate once you've been using for a little while. It can be really picky and sometimes hard to navigate. The system also does not have a 'notification' option for when time sheets are turned in, returned/rejected, or completed/approved; that would be REALLY beneficial.

I like the versatility there seems to be with this software.. there are many areas of employee records that can be managed with this system, including HR, Payroll, Finance, and more. It has a lot of options for a company for managing systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike the learning curve. It takes a lot of training to become proficient. That is not to say that a system of this caliber should not, but it is not user friendly or particularly attractive from a customer-facing standpoint. It can look outdated because of this. It is easy to use, especially for HR information. It's great to have all of my HR information to view and to edit right at my finger tips. I don't find the interface to be particularly user friendly when looking up large amounts of information for prospects in advancement work. It would be easier to use if all information was together on one screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

How it stores and views the inactive and active biographical data of the constituents. My office logs into Business Objects, a reporting system, that pulls information from Banner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It does not speak to other programs, i.e Advance or SalesforceCRM, so we are finding that either our HR department (Banner) or most of the University (Advance and/or crm) have conflicting data.
